  1. He cannot be a top 12 QB. He does not have that ability in him. It isn't about struggling, it's that Cam would be better because he just is better, even in his current state. "Better" might get us one or two more wins and he would be less likely to just summarily fug games up for us but Cam/Panthers 2021 wouldn't net a playoff berth or probably even have a winning record. I get the hope of Darnold but the reality is simply that he is who he is. There is no light at the end of this tunnel, he is simply the player he has always been and will continue to be. That's why so many of us were perplexed when that move was made. The fact that he was a bust just really didn't seem to be much of a question. Whatever doubt about that is completely gone now. He is a bust. Now, does that mean he won't win us a couple of games when he is "on?" Nope. He probably will. But overall he is just simply going to suck because he has always sucked. It is just what he does. And he will DEFINITELY suck in the circumstances he is in here.
  2. Kind of my view. I think they will do a better job of giving the game away to us.
  3. I can't imagine that if the deal gets done before the trade deadline that the price will be anywhere near what Houston was asking.
  4. 28th in the NFL in turnover margin. That isn't gonna result in many wins.
  5. I will put it this way, Sam Darnold's best season ever(currently watching it) would be Cam's worst full season in his career. That's what I mean. Even broken down Cam is better than Darnold. I am not sure if you are aware but Sam Darnold has been one of the worst QB's in the NFL for four seasons running now. It ain't about Cam, it's about Sam.
  6. Yeah, there is absolutely no question Cam is better than Sam Darnold. That's just laughable to even suggest otherwise. Even a broken down Cam is better than Darnold.
  7. He had stretches of elite play in NY too. It's the reason some people thought he had potential. The deeper you look at his career(college to pro) the more obvious his flaws are. He just is who he is. He can be more successful here but we didn't build that team.
  8. Yeah, I mean that would be great but I think we are seeing that the offense is going to be a crutch most of the year. Darnold is completely incapable of elevating the team and we didn't do a good enough job of building an offense around him that allows him to be successful. 6-9 wins was my preseason prediction and I think with CMC being out, it is trending towards the 6-7 wins. It is a shame we have squandered good opportunities against bad teams.
  9. I think if you have an elite OT or IOL prospect available in your spot in the first(I project us in the 10-15 range of the draft), you just take your surefire starter. Also, if you end up with a top 10 pick you get an elite player, if available. Outside of that, trade down and get more picks to spend on OL. You don't even have to target a specific position, because we literally need everything.
  10. 100% agreed. It would have likely cost us less money too. But hindsight is what it is. The worst part is that we couldn't even bring shell-of-Cam here now because of the optics. Even thought he is likely a much more effective QB.
  11. Also, trading for Mack may mean CMC is gonna be on the shelf longer than expected.
  12. We are basically down to getting one player in the two deep with the first rounder. MAYBE a shot at a second in the 4th. The rest are just longshot picks. I suspect we will see them trade down out of the first and get 2nd/3rd round picks.
  13. The thing is.....each progressive decision at the position has made us worse. It really boggles the mind. Used up Cam > Allen/Heinickie > Teddy > Darnold. I am not even sure how we are going to get worse with our next move. Resurrect the ghost of David Carr??
  14. I mean, it would have to be 2023 picks, I would think. Can we afford to lose any more 2022 picks??
  15. I guess if we can get him for a song and a dance, sure. There is not really a reason to trade significant draft capital or a good player for a partial season fix.
  16. Yeah, really I wouldn't care if we just played PJ after that. What does it really matter at that point? It's all gonna end up in the same spot.
  17. That was what drove me insane. We were making luxury picks when we still had a lot of building to do. IMO, the staff did not appreciate how critical OL play is. They thought they could dumpster dive their way to an average OL. It just doesn't work that way. Rhule talked all offseason about talent and versatility when it came to the OL. One thing he never talked about was ABILITY. They thought they could mold these guys into good linemen, when that had never been the case in their NFL careers. Then you double down by taking two project offensive linemen who you can't even play on a line this bad. I have beat the dogshit out of this horse but my God.....this was so avoidable.
  18. I expect they will be rather generous with their attempts to hand us a victory. I predict 3 TO's for the Giants. I am sure we will cough up at least one(most likely Darnold again).
  19. That is another issue entirely. Quite a few of our draft picks should have been OL. That's why some of us were screaming at our TV's the whole draft.
  20. There are worse offensive lines in the NFL currently. Not that much worse, obviously.
  21. He's basically the 4th option. Although he is #3 in overall touches, CMC and Chubba have a combined 36 targets. Had CMC been healthy, he is likely to have been our #3(perhaps #2) most targeted.
