  1. Some of them are loose but some are very scripted and intense. I don't really care in either situation, personally. But the majority of people in those scenarios are not particularly cool, calm and collected.
  2. Yep. He probably viewed this as, "I don't need this job, so what do they have to offer that makes we WANT this job." I almost always do that.
  3. Yeah but not many employees have the sack to take that tact with a potential employer. You get a lot of deferential behavior and BS. Some of those types want a yes man. That is why I generally go into most interviews not caring much or viewing it as what they have to offer me, rather than what I need to do to work there. You'd be surprised how often that is successful. And, typically, the places it isn't aren't usually places I want to work anyway.
  4. Plus the 49ers are probably legitimately just a QB away from having a Super Bowl title already. To me, that is the best scenario for Watson imaginable from a football success standpoint. Other than that, Miami seems like the best possible scenario for a "future bet" and living situation scenario.
  5. It wouldn't be high on my list of destinations either, TBQH. We aren't an attractive team in 2021 for a guy of his caliber. Perhaps after this offseason/draft that may change. That is the thing, there are also about 98% unknowns in these scenarios and about 2% knowns. It's possible this saga lasts until the beginning of the season or until the 2022 offseason. No harm in speculating. It is the offseason for non-playoff teams.
  6. Well there are 31 possible destinations for him. We are probably on a shorter list, due to our need for a QB. So, that probably puts us into about a 10 team category. Other than that, we have no idea what he does or doesn't want for his next franchise. That we have to speculate on or wait to hear.
  7. Yeah, some of the teams people are talking about being involved are almost impossible. People are ignoring the salary cap situations of those respective franchises. People need to remember this is going to boil down to(if it even happens): 1. Where Watson is willing to go(he has veto power). 2. What the Texans are willing to accept in a trade. 3. What teams are willing AND able to give up to get him IF they even want him. That's pretty much it.
  8. I can't agree it is a pipe dream. We are a possible destination but a lot of dominos have to fall to make that happen. The first of which being him actually wanting to come here.
  9. Way less likely than him coming here. The Falcons are already in cap trouble as it is and trading or cutting Matt Ryan puts them in dire straits even WITHOUT Watson's cap figure.
  10. Yeah but I am just stating that this conversation is about 98% theoretical at this point. If we had half a dozen sports media outlets reporting this rumor, it would be a different situation entirely.
  11. Yeah and taking a LB in the first round typically means that second contract is already going to be higher than the guy you took in the 2nd-7th rounds.
  12. I don't put much stock into any of those incidents unless they start being regular occurrences. None of us know any of the facts about it.
  13. Yeah, eventually you have to start making choices in the offseason that actually help the team. We have to get past ignoring positional value and reaching for suspect players(in free agency and the draft).
  14. But that is all pretty rumor based at the moment. It's far from concrete.
  15. He isn't. His contract basically just makes him someone that will get cut wherever he is traded. Sort of like how some of our fans think that CMC is a valuable trade asset. He is not. Very few teams in the league want to absorb that kind of RB contract. The biggest asset we have is Burns, who is an elite pass rusher with 3 years left on a rookie deal. His value is extremely high.
  16. I'd love to see the list of elite LB's still in the playoffs. This is like our fanbases fetish with RB's. It's a product of a different time. If you aren't an elite pass rushing LB, it isn't a critical need for a team to win or to have a great defense. Luke spoiled ya'll because he was a HOF talent but we aren't going to get another Luke very easily. Furthermore, Luke played in 2019 for one of the worst defenses we have ever fielded. It was a defense that ranked behind the one we just had featuring Tahir Whitehead and Jermaine Carter. Think about that. Parsons is a luxury pick and we aren't in luxury pick mode.
  17. Not enough draft capital, IMO. With Teddy, they probably want an extra pick or two just to take him. It's unlikely they do anything but cut him. For a team with cap trouble, he doesn't make sense to have. Frankly, they might not be even remotely interested in CMC because of their cap situation.
  18. We aren't even close to what the Bucs were prior to this past offseason. That team was absolutely loaded with talent and ready to win. Our roster is so far from that.
  19. Yeah, he may have his hands full putting this franchise back together after all this is done. Keep in mind that this could get a LOT worse depending on the coaching situation. If the rumor mill is correct and this is viewed as the worst HC job in the league, their top level choices may not be interested. So, now you have a roster with guys that want to leave, including one of the best young QB's in the league with a huge contract containing a no trade clause. Now pile on a less than stellar coach and a team not many guys that are trying to win are going to be interested in signing with in free agency. That team could quickly become the worst franchise in the NFL.
  20. Don't underestimate them overplaying their hand here. How often do we see terrible management make bad decisions in these situations and not be able to get maximum market value? We have to remember that if Watson basically tells a team or two that they are basically the destination or makes that publicly known, that immediately tanks the trade value for Watson. There will be no bidding war for him because he can veto anything. I honestly don't think the Texans will get the bounty that people are projecting them to. It's also possible that they decide to go nuclear option and let Watson rot on the bench for a year. They've already been dumb so far, so maybe they keep being dumb.
  21. I am not sure how attractive of a package we could put together for the Texans and a lot of that is going to depend on what coach they end up hiring. In terms of players we have with trade value to them, 1. Brian Burns 2. DJ Moore 3. CMC(behind Moore because of the contract and injuries) That's probably about it for high end value. Other than that, we will probably have to go pretty hard on draft capital and that is a dicey proposition. You have to weigh what a player of his caliber is worth(a tremendous amount) and what we have left to be able to build around him. It could be a big problem without the draft picks to build your roster for the next 2-3 years. Our new GM is going to have to absolutely knock it out of the park on all his free agent signings from that point on.
