David Newton questions McCaffrey's support of Bridgewater
kungfoodude replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is a nothing burger, IMO. He probably knows that we are trying to move on just as much as anyone, no reason to add fuel to that fire. He did the right thing which was juke around that question. -

Yeah but you expect him to be more supportive at that moment in time. -
The difference is the QB desperation seems to be increasing this offseason. IMO, some of the hype about all these QB's going high is accurate. Perhaps when it all shakes out he falls. We are still in the period of post season evaluation. It is going to be a while before we start getting more rumors from the teams and scouts about where these guys actually rank on their boards.

Listen, you can only be so cheery living in Pittsburgh. Of course they don't have a sense of humor.

I think finally all 32 teams understand that if you don't get better at QB, you aren't going to get better as a franchise. Plus you also have more openings at QB as former elite QB's retire and get close to retirement. It has made this offseason(and it hasn't even really officially started yet!) extremely exciting.

I think part of it is seeing how crazy the QB market is. As someone said in another thread, this may be the ultimate sellers market.

Dear Lord.....to solidify your status as the author of the worst takes in the Huddle. It's impressive. You do it with both quality(or really lack therof) and quantity.

I would think at least 5-6 teams would have interest, if not more. Goff may be average or better(or worse) but even those QB's are getting to be rare in the current NFL.

In this market Goff is probably way too talented to dump. Could they end up trying to move him elsewhere? Maybe

Why do people always throw shade at Cam having accuracy issues? And I don't mean this to say he doesn't miss on occasion but he was a 65.4% completion percentage guy in college. Outside of the two games in 2019, in 2018(14 games played) and 2020(15 games played) he was above a 65% completion percentage in the NFL. ALL of these top 4 QB's have tape missing reads or missing throws. That is why there aren't 100% completion percentage throwers in the NFL. That said, Lance is obviously the most raw of all these players. He isn't going to likely come in and start day one. It will take him some time to adjust. But he isn't going to be a useless knucklehead like Haskins or Manziel either. I don't have concerns about him being a bust because I believe he will do the work it takes to get better.

Go back to your first post and highlight all of the "I think" phrases. That is what is referred to an an opinion. Added a link so you could research it.

Facts are things that you can prove with evidence. Where is yours?

Clausen is a pure dumb take. Mitch isn't necessarily a terrible take, but it's on the wrong end of that gunslinger spectrum. Trubisky is on the Favre/Winston end of the spectrum. The level of stupid decisions is just off the charts. He is pure boom or bust. Wilson seems more like the Mayfield/Stafford/Mahomes end of the gunslinger charts. Still prone to some stupid throws but much more measured. More of the good aspects of the gunslingers and less of the bad aspects.

This QB market is fuging nuts though. If they move on from Darnold, it will be a good temperature of how crazy it is. If teams are beating down the door to get Darnold, who doesn't have much to show for his time in the NFL so far, this market may be at record levels. Derek Carr will be another situation to watch for a temp check of the market. Speaking of bad takes, you got two in one post. Well done.

Lance is a talented runner because he was a RB when he was younger. I am concerned he will rely on that too much in the NFL. I know it has worked out for Lamar Jackson but Lance doesn't have that top end gear that keeps Lamar from taking a ton of punishment. Also, I do like that Lance has a chip on his shoulder and didn't accept the P5 offers to become a DB or WR in college. Gotta like a kid who stuck with it and worked to make his dream happen.

Schefter thinks Darnold worth 1st rounder if traded
kungfoodude replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't get the portion of our fanbase that wants to trade down or stick it out with Teddy while we build a team. If you don't have a QB in the NFL, you are going nowhere and fast. Only two teams made the playoffs this season without top 16 QB's in the NFL, the Bears and WTF's. That trend goes back a few years, with the only exceptions being a backup QB in Nick Foles and the shell of Peyton Manning having the ultimate success. Philly was propelled in by an MVP caliber performance from Wentz and Peyton Manning was propelled in by the best defense in the NFL. -
Holy poo. I never considered the Saints or a multi-team deal. If there is a team that has tons of players available to trade and desperately needs to jettison cap, it's them. I would melt down if we got scooped by the Saints in a Watson deal.

Remember it is also the last year of his rookie deal. So it would be a 2nd round draft pick for a one year rental.
