  1. Eh.....I mean I will not be upset to get Watson but we will be in a tough spot to keep building through the draft. We really need to crush free agency consistently.
  2. Remember "ties" rotate each round. So they shuffle picks. That is actually why tying kind of sucks in the draft order.
  3. Don't say that. His home is technically Georgia. We don't want him to go home.
  4. Or the Bungles. The point being, poo franchises are usually poo for a good reason. They are poorly run.
  5. Well some things are constant. Death, taxes, shitty franchises being perpetually shitty.
  6. You think Stafford was the thing holding that franchise back??? Lol....I remember my first year as an NFL fan.
  7. Yes but how much were those the players and how much were those the situations? Sometimes it is difficult to unpack that unless a change of scenery happens. I don't think Stafford will end up here but I will be curious to see how successful he is at his next destination. If I had to make a prediction, I would wager that what you end up finding out is that the problem wasn't Stafford any more than it was Calvin Johnson or Barry Sanders. Sometimes great players just end up in shitty organizations.
  8. I literally re-looked at his Wikipedia to see WTF that comment was even about. Still just as head scratching as when I first read it.
  9. Yeah and if it is just a matter of him not being accustomed to the head coaching interview process in the NFL, he'll eventually get that figured out. As someone mentioned, during his "hot candidate" period, he's also been in two Super Bowls. That does tend to divide one's attention.
  10. Or maybe he is going to have an early playoff exit one season and actually have the time to prepare properly.
  11. Yeah, but you can still be prepared at an interview when a franchise is in disarray. Hell, it happens every offseason multiple times. It isn't like most of these job openings are for good jobs.
  12. Yeah but you cannot summarily discount that maybe he just also isn't "the guy." He is likely to get a head coaching job down the line, so you will get to see if this was the hill to die on or not. I don't know personally, but I do find it odd he specifically hasn't been able to break through after being a hot candidate for a couple of offseasons.
  13. Well, given where the Texans owner is from and given some past statements, I don't think you can ignore it being a factor. I do think they appear to be committed to hiring a minority candidate, although it appears to be to appease their disgruntled QB moreso than out of a sense of fairness. @ImaginaryKev isn't wrong about the pretty startling statistics in regards to the percentage of the league that is minorities and the lack of head coaches that are. It isn't like you can't point to other sports where that was the case and changed over time, as well. Perhaps Bieniemy and Houston aren't the best example of that being the case but the statistics alone and previous history certainly make a pretty convincing case that the NFL is behind the times in making minority hires.
  14. I mean, I have been saying he was a top shelf QB in the NFL for a while now. People just ignore him because he is on a talented team that never accomplished anything. Well Dan Fouts had that problem, so did Philip Rivers and plenty of other really good QB's that played on dumpster fire franchises. Stafford really is a good QB, IMO. If you put him on a much more successful franchise, we wouldn't be having this discussion at all.
  15. Yeah, fair point, but it has happened to quite a few coaches in the NFL. Some guys just aren't always the best prepared for this process. Look at it this way, if Houston hires Leslie Frazier instead, wouldn't that sort of indicate that maybe it has more to do with EB than it does Houston? And, yes, I realize the guy doing the hiring in that franchise certainly means that racial reasons have to be on the table.
  16. If he wasn't getting the opportunities to get the interviews at multiple places, I'd listen to that argument but why do so many front offices keep passing on him? Maybe he just isn't "there" yet? Didn't Ron have a shitload of interviews before he was prepared enough to ace one?
  17. This is an interesting blurb about it, If this is true, it would explain a lot. Perhaps he really doesn't have a detailed plan on becoming a head coach or at least isn't able to communicate it clearly in an interview. That would be a problem.
  18. That is kind of what I am thinking. If it wasn't him just flat out not wanting these jobs, maybe he is one of these "complete roster control" guys? I know a lot of places that isn't viewed well. Or maybe he just doesn't interview well. Then again, let's be honest.....maybe he really is just a product of Andy Reid? We probably aren't going to know until he finally gets a shot at it.
  19. Same as Teddy. I think that is ultimately the problem with some of these contracts in general. They require a trade and then it becomes who would be willing to take these contracts for average or below average starters in a year the cap is going to drop. Many of these potential moves aren't going to transpire for that reason.
  20. Have you see our current QB's contract? Talking about being stuck with....
  21. Damn....he got him turned quick.
  22. I am curious to see how it all shakes out. Very curious to see which teams enquire, as well. Lots of QB needy teams in the NFL currently.
  23. It's possible for him to jump Trask and Jones. Not likely, perhaps, but possible.
