Bryce my dude youre not gonna get many clean pockets and open receivers. You cant be missing guys the few times you do.

If anyone has a few extra min I'd recommend watching the Jordan Love QB film breakdown. Immediately you see Pass catchers flashing open, it's like night and day, and it's not like they have the best receivers in the world. Also a Bryce believer, I do want to see Dalton again, the offense looked a lot different and I think it's important to see why that was: One game sample? Opening up the playbook because Dalton has a stronger arm? Dalton in general being better. Busted Coverages.

With Eric bieniemy, an offensive mind with a significantly better reputation than Frank Reich, and with Weapons out wide that are nobably better than ours in McLaurin and Dotson. Forgot that part.

Bryce defenders, please give me a reason why you're still hopeful
emhoward replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
That remains to be seen imo, but I didn't say Franchise, I said starting. Goff, Cousins, Tannehill, etc, somewhere between the 14th and 18th ranked QB. You can win with them, provided they have some talent and coaching around them. -

Hopeful in terms of what? I'm hopeful that he can still be a starting QB in this league - I believe you can win with him in the Russell Wilson sense, with a dominant D and powerful run game. I'm no longer hopeful that he can be worth what we paid. That he can be elite. I'm no longer hopeful that we got the best QB in this draft. With better (not great, just better) weapons, Bryce would look a lot better. You don't have to fix the line, just give him a Jamaar Chase, heck give him a Higgins, and we'd all feel better about him, but I'm no longer hopeful that he can be an elite, MVP caliber type. -
Mannn... this dude CJ is it.

Reich handing over playcalling to Brown
emhoward replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good news, but I'd feel a lot better if it wasn't Reich's scheme. -
And the fact that we have no run game, so it's a replacement for that.

Brock is certainly better than Bryce, but you put Bryce in Brock's situation, with his coaching and his talent, he certainly looks better than he does with us.

Average Point Differential by game second
emhoward replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
"Or strong implications." And this wasnt a defense of Bryce. A 3 game sample does start to paint a picture. It was push back against Dalton being anything other than what he's been the last few years because of one game. -

Trigger lol. No additional commentary is the problem. Coming to any conclusions or strong implications based on a one game sample isnt triggering, its insane. Did you see that kid Zach Wilson play sunday, he's pretty good. Not sure about that Mahomes kid tho. -
I don't disagree with any of this necessarily. I just don't think 3 games is enough sample size to say much of anything for certain. "Looking like a a horrible draft decision.." sure, but over a 3 games sample a lot of things "look" at certain way and then things shift. I suppose Bryce hasn't shown you enough to believe that he'll turn it around, fair enough.

Booo hooo its not FAIIIR to Compare Cam to Bryce rookie seasons.
emhoward replied to Pantha-kun's topic in Carolina Panthers
I see. I believe there's some top 5 pick types that had similar slow starts that turned it around. How many wow plays they had I can't say, didn't watch every snap, but I haven't yet lost hope in Bryce. -

I suppose this is where I differ from other Bryce Supporters. I don't think he has looked competent. I do think a large portion of our offenses struggles are due to him. BUT, I still believe he can and will be the guy. I think some start slow, and then explode, and some start fast and flicker out, and some start slow and stay slow, and some start off with a bang and maintain it, turning into a HOFer. I haven't seen enough to say he can't be our franchise QB. -

I suppose what reaches the "Wow" bar is different for everyone. The throw he made after dodging the defenders today was a throw like that for me. The TD he threw to Thielin in the preseason was that throw to me. I suppose that can be thrown out though since it was Preseason. But I certainly haven't seen many of them, that I agree. I'm just not sure what people mean by "wow". He certainly will never be a Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes type with the throws, but I never expected that. What I hoped he could be was a Drew Brees type, I rarely seen anything out of Brees that said "wow" though, he was just surgical and consistent. I guess a lot of this can be left up to interpretation. -
Why isnt that valid? Dalton looked much better. Im acknowledging that. Im saying that a guy whos been in the league 12 years looking better than a guy thats played 3 games, doesnt mean that the guy thats played 3 games will not turn into a franchise guy.

This is an interesting position. If you dont know he's the guy immediately, then in your view he likely will never be #1 pick caliber. I feel like I can come up with some examples that oppose this view, but I would have to think on it. Hmm. Obviously him flashing stardom from day one is optimal, but I dont feel like that is off the table for Bryce. -
I dont see anyone praising him here since the games started (preseason, sure). There are just some that are saying he's not a bust yet. Andy Dalton has been in the league 12 years. He should look better imo.

I wasnt around much doing the off season but it must have been toxic. I cant remember the last time at fanbase turned on a #1 pick so fast. Usually no matter how bad a player is, a fanbase would bend over backwards to justify the pick. The Jamarcus Russell's and Zach Wilsons of the world still had the advocates after a year of play and people are giving up on Bryce after 3 games?? My assumption is this is mostly due to heavy debate in terms of who the QB should have been in the first place, but now that he's here I dont understand why some are waving the white flag after 80 NFL throws.
