  1. Yes and Takkito means "little taco" so I can see where they are very similar.
  2. You know I don't know if anyone else has brought it up, but about 6 or 7 years ago we had the chance to keep a promising young rookie kicker who went on to win multiple Super Bowls. /s
  3. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hamilcar picked up off waivers. He is a solid player who could make a good backup on a LBer needy team.
  4. Agreed, completely! I have had that thought many, many times. I still don't know how Thomas got that contract. We seriously overpaid for the 3 or 4 surprise catches he will make for us per year.
  5. The board has to realize we do not have the optimal defensive roster for the 3-4. YGM is better suited for the 4-3 and that's not going to change probably ever. I see him as a decent backup here, but he may have better success with another team. He seems like a good guy and teammate so I wish him luck no matter where he plays.
  6. Some talk of Arnold being brought back for TE depth...he can't block worth a flip. I would rather have Ricci. Also, Henderson is better than Taylor.
  7. Hmmmm......wonder why the team didn't look good? New coach and staff Change to 3-4 defense without having players needed at key positions New QB with new receivers OL wasn't all the starters together, playing against a very good defensive line for the 2nd year under Saleh Matt Corrall isn't very good I have seen some people say the projected 1st team offense and defense need to play at least an entire half. I really agree with this, injuries are going to happen but this team in particular needs the reps playing together.
  8. Will always be a fan of DJ (not when he plays against us), but we needed Bryce Young. You have to give to get.
  9. GMDW knows where Pesce's camp stands. I think he's talked to Skjei and his agent as well. Really haven't heard much about this, but since Skjei was already making more than Pesce I would guess he's looking for a nice raise and term too. At the end of the day after this move I think Pesce gets moved along with Coghlan and maybe a draft pick/prospect for maybe Nylander or Lindholm? I'd hate to make Toronto's D stronger, but Nylander can score. My preference would be Lindholm for two reasons: RBA and him know each other and it sends Pesce West.
  10. I agree we don't want to rush him in any way. One thing I posted back when he injured his knee was that it wasn't a complete tear of the ACL and that was good news. In fact, Svech wanted to brace his knee and continue playing but got shut down by RBA and the committee. So his recovery time isn't as long as a full tear, but I am right there with you - give him the most time to rehab and strengthen that knee/leg as much as possible.
  11. Speaking of Forslund, and I still miss him, but that national gig has never really materialized for him. I think the switch over to ESPN hurt his chances there.
  12. I wasn't trying to pile on, I was just saying it was pointless to argue over the rumor about Tarasenko joining the Canes when it is now apparent he's all about the $$$.
  13. He'll get them to the Tidy Flush Bowl at like 6-6 and proceed to lose to Akron or Buffalo like 42-10.
  14. Only one thing to do @Anybodyhome you gotta buy two seats for yourself!
  15. Wow, why are we getting bent out of shape about a rumor about a guy who would rather play in Ottawa than Carolina because of $$. I rather make some good scratch and be on a winning team.
  16. Most likely a cheap deal. TDA and his agent may think he can get more somewhere else, if they'd have him. There's still a lot of opposition to him within the league. I almost think if we don't sign him that it will be a big signal that we are still looking into Karlsson.
  17. Yeah, I have the first black alternate jersey with E. Staal's nameplate and numbers. I thought we considered him a franchise player until he started to sulk about not being on a winning team. We definitely got, and still have, the best Staal brother.
  18. That's true, but if he's able to return you can't keep him on LTIR.
  19. This is my concern with Karlsson: he disappeared for 3-4 years out in San Jose and had some injury issues. He is not Burns - I am sure he works out and stays in shape, but he's not in "blow your mind" shape. Yeah, we get him for more years but if he gets hurt or is injured a lot where does that leave us? I guess we could say the same about Pesce, who amongst our D-men, has had the most injuries but he is younger. This is really interesting. I was more about moving Pesce for forward help!
  20. Dang I don't remember that! I am getting old...or already am!
  21. Yep, nailed Ottawa's dilemma. They don't want to pay DeBrincat that QO of $9M or anything close to that and neither do the other 31 NHL teams. I mean maybe Arizona or Chicago can swing it, but it almost seems like Ottawa would also need to sweeten the deal just to get him off their books. Not an enviable position at all!
  22. We need to get one to have at the games like Georgia has their bulldog. Always keep it in the opposing teams end zone area, maybe let it escape a time or two.
