The reason to pick up Sam's option is it’s cheaper than not doing it. You fans that don't believe in the Sammy experiment will never accept it. The team believes in Sam. They have invested in him for the next 2 seasons. It's smart to sign his option because if he plays half as well as they expect him to, extending him after the fact would cost more. It's just that simple. Basic math.

With as much draft capital we've gained, we haven't lost anything to have our current QB. Move on already.

I personally don't care what happens to Fields. Doesn't affect our team in any way.

Pride is easy to root for. He plays hard, and always leaves it out on the field. Would be a huge boon for our oline if Brown can beat out Miller for RG. I'd rather see Miller start until Brown is ready to step in. No reason to rush. The RG is going to be fun to watch the tight competition for the starting and backup spots.

I'll admit to being a little hesitant to reading this at first (lams)... This has been the best OP I've read in awhile. From anyone. I know, that time of year. While your analysis I can't really disagree with, you presented your entire thought process well. From the fact that it just your own thoughts and just sharing. Kudos man. I have been going back and forth over how I think, I think it may turn out. I truly belive that if the line is stronger across the inside, it allows the tackles be able to focus on their assignments better. That leads me to think that Christiansen should be our start let at LG to start the season. that doesn't mean he might not steal LT, just not sure that ends up leading to our best starting 5.... leaving the vet to start at LT like you are currently leaning to. This day 1 starting lineup I'd be okay with, but man oh man, the competition at that RG position is going to be unreal. Great thread guys.

I really enjoyed the fact that we beat the defending world champions, in our first season. That will always be special to me.

Realistically, we'll only be starting Horn on the first game of the season. Our second round pick will have to show a lot to be trusted to start over our veterans. While moving Moore to the slot would immediately give the rookie the start, I just don't see that happening. I love Christiansen, but he has an uphill battle to be a week one starter. I would.l9ve to see it though. Everybody after that has a severe up hill batter. Who knows by mid-season. So much can change game to game.

This sentiment is beyond ignorant. We had to move on from Cam. There is no universe where he would have been retained at his old contract. With a new staff, it was time to move on. No matter how you feel about $20 mil a year, that is cheap in todays NFL for a starting QB. Teddy was our starting QB. No Panther fan wanted Teddy back for this coming season, yet now the staff is getting crap for cutting him, and the team moving forward with a guy that is their guy with a stronger arm. While you may want to stop playing musical chairs at QB, that's what it takes until you find a good one. If they weren't willing to play musical chairs, then they would be alright with not finding our next franchise QB as soon as possible. You guys argue over the stupidest poo on earth.

If the goal is Christiansen at LT, then that is where he needs to start, and let the battle for LG work itself out. Want the starting 5 guys playing together as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the NFLPA no longer allows the amount of practuce it takes gel a line before the season starts.
