Panthers taking Patriots game seriously
pantherclaw replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
This thread is way to serious for a preseason game. Fact. I'm ecited to watch the game. I always want the Panthers to win/perform well. Ultimately, regardless of the conclusion, i want to get through this game healthy. Everything else can kiss off. -
Panthers RB Brandon Wegher featured on NFL Network

If good cheap running backs were so easy to find, the cowboys would have one. Anybody that thinks good cheap running backs are so easy to find hasn't been a panther fan for more than 8 years.- 29 replies

Neither rookie can even compare to Stewart. I understand getting excited for our young, talented rookies, but the huddle has been going crazy this camp. Almost like it's been years since they seen pro football!!!!- 29 replies

I'll support any 53 that is chosen. Would be rough sledding for awhile. -
until he gets hurt again.

I'd rather have Webb than Anderson, and.keep the two players in the OP.

Top 5 things to watch against Buffalo

I'm not concerned with what Shula has done prior to coaching with the Panthers. It's clear that he has evolved since then. -

Why is asking anyone to address the issues mean I'm or anybody else is defending Shula. It's called looking at everything that goes into it. Two years ago, we had 13 wins? Sound like a pretty good effort all away around. Last season, injuries to the oline, running backs, cam, one of the worst receiving corps assembled by rhe franchise. Not even the best OC in the league can overcome that. But whatever, I'm going to bash the coaches cause it's his fault those guys got injured, and the less than average talent he had to work with was often failing to excute. Did i get that right? Oh yeah, and fug Rivera for sticking with him, and fug Gettleman for allowing Rivera to stick with him. fug the owner for allowing it to happen too. -

I kiss no one's ass. Until you or aybody else that blindly slams Shula addresses many of the issues he's been forced to work with/through, there is nothing else to say. -

Nobody in this thread is "giving him a pass" Just different perspective, especially when taking the circumstances into consideration. But bash away. Must you haven't deviated at all since before shula was promoted, so you'll ignore the circumstances as it doesn't support your hate. -

I recall that perfectly clear. Just as Gettleman has no problem cutting players whom don't perform, i know he wouldn't just stand by doing nothing if he felt a coach wasn't performing. I can't believe anyone would believe otherwise. Your choice. -

his play calling is actually better than most around here will give him credit for. He is also.more creative than most give him credit for. Your response of hand picking the worse OC the Panthers ever had is the weakest retort you could have come up with - but it does support your argument, so why would ya actually want to come up with a more solid example? Who cares, i don't. -

Thank you for pointing out what I've known for most of.my life. Coaching matters. I never said it doesn't. I am also confident that if Gettleman felt any of our coaches weren't preparing and coaching up our players enough, he'd do more than suggest a change. You know as well as I do, that when there is poor execution, the mass response is directed to the OC. He can't hold the players hands, and make them execute better when it's game day. Let me be clear, that Shula isn't a favorite of mine. I just know he also gets more blame than he deserves, and you are one of the ring leaders of that wagon.
