Sadly, it was very slim all during the college years!!!

How good is Yannick Ngakoue? Ngakoue is a limited run defender. At 6'2″, 246 pounds, he's never been a great edge-setter. He does know how to get after the quarterback, though. He's never had fewer than eight sacks in a season, and he's posted 19.5 sacks over the last two years.

Panthers Pick Up Fifth-Year Option on DT Derrick Brown Carolina makes a decision on Derrick Brown. SCHUYLER CALLIHANMAY 1, 2023 8:58 AM EDT CAROLINA PANTHERS As expected, the Carolina Panthers will pick up the fifth-year option on defensive tackle Derrick Brown, the team announced Monday. The former seventh overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft has become a key fixture on the Panthers' defense despite having a mini-slump during his sophomore season in 2021. In three seasons with the team, Brown has accumulated 142 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 33 QB hits, and six sacks. This past season was his best as he set a single-season career high in tackles (67) and QB hits (12), to go along with five tackles for loss and a sack. With Carolina switching to a 3-4 defensive scheme under Ejiro Evero, Brown will play more of a defensive end position, which should allow him to generate more of a pass rush. Free agent addition Shy Tuttle is slated to start at the nose.

I can relate to that. My bank account after college was almost nonexistent.

That was a good and informative interview.

I don't think he got a concussion. That's a big, big plus. -
I always thought he was a good OL coach. Just looks like Ron is feeling the heat and wants to shake things up.

Round 1 - The Carolina Panthers Select Bryce Young - QB - Alabama
KatsAzz replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Unless Bryce Young has had # 9 his entire football career and it really means a lot to him, he should chose the #2 jersey number. The Panthers first great QB Cam Newton had the # 1 jersey number, so Bryce would be carrying the torch forward by obtaining the # 2 jersey number. -
Like you, I was wondering and somewhat worried about the surprised wait. I was somewhat anxious after being excited that the Panthers would select Bryce Young and could not help hoping they had not changed their minds and come up with some off the wall, trade back deal.

Round 1 - The Carolina Panthers Select Bryce Young - QB - Alabama
KatsAzz replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young is a high-caliber QB and will have plenty of room to grow with the Panthers under HC Frank Reich. Young brings a new level of accuracy, the ability to adapt and overcome pressure, and produce points. His record in college shows he is consistently reliable on the field, a leader that teammates would follow and fight for on the field, something not found during the Rhule era. Young’s ability to make smart plays in both the air and on the ground makes him a smaller but dangerous factor for teams trying to defend him, especially with the weapons he will have on offense. Things are looking bright for the future of the Panthers under the Reich/Young era. -
That was some good pictures, especially the clear one of the bobcat. Looks like pretty country, where do you live?
-
I think his long term health is a concern to all of us because of his slight frame. However, I want to think this negative concern will be counter balanced by the fact defensive players cannot get a firm grasp on him, or a good direct him because he is slippery and has a smaller frame.

You are wise to keep your your cats inside and believe me I know what a chore that can be because they are predators and it comes natural to them to want to be outside and hunt. You were fortunate to lose your cat to the coyote. You fast thinking and timely reactions probably saved its life. Coyotes will mostly travel in pairs when hunting, branching often occasionally then coming back together to double team their prey. You and your cat were also very fortunate that it was just the one coyote and not the usual two.

Sound advise and a wise words of wisdom that I will certainly try to abide by. LOL
-
Wooo!!! You are really out in the country. Do you live in or near Linville like your name implies?

I am an animal love and I give you a big thumbs for rescuing the feral kitten. I live in the eastern city limits of Gastonia and have lost two cats to Coyotes, so i hope you have better luck with your new kitten.

C.J. Henderson - Carolina Panthers CB It would be a massive surprise if the Carolina Panthers didn't acquire another cornerback relatively early during the 2023 NFL Draft. Those in power have ignored this particular position group in free agency despite some serious concerns, which means it's essential the unit is bolstered in some capacity before the campaign. Perhaps this represents a vote of confidence in underperforming players such as Keith Taylor Jr. and C.J. Henderson. Both failed to meet even modest expectations last season, with their inept performances during Carolina's crunch clash at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17 playing a leading role in the team's eventual demise. Henderson won't be getting his fifth-year option picked up this off-season. This leaves the former first-round selection facing a career crossroads heading into the final year of his rookie deal. The one-time Florida stud was tipped to be the next great shutdown cornerback coming out of college. But questions about his desire and inconsistent production leave Henderson on the brink of becoming an afterthought unless things improve drastically next time around. If the Panthers bring in another capable presence or two via the draft or free agency, the urgency increases further for Henderson. And there will be no sentiment whatsoever in the decision-making process despite what Carolina gave up to acquire him from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
