  1. Giving that up the Panthers 2023 # 9 draft pick and heavens knows what else to get Sean Payton would be a massive gamble in my opinion, especially considering the need to draft a high-upside QB from the college ranks. Again, this all comes down to David Tepper. If he’s 100 percent convinced Payton can lead the Panthers back to prominence, then parting ways with first-round picks this year or next will be worth the risk. Giving a divisional rival valuable draft resources isn’t ideal. But as we’ve seen countless times throughout Tepper’s ownership, he may act on impulse and not think twice.
  2. Yet another screw up after Tepper gets involved in decision makings.
  3. This is so sad and heart breaking. Anton Walkes was only 25 and had his whole life to live in front of him. Prayers and condolences are extented to his family.
  4. I can certainly understand Wilson or any quarterback wanting Sean Payton as their head coach. However, I am not sure Payton, who likes coaching teams that could be sure winners, would want to step into the mess that Denver has created.
  5. Not sure who the Panthers will select as HC but hiring either Steichen or Kafka, who are both offensive minded, would certainly be agreeable to me..
  6. I have no idea who the Panthers will hire as the new HC but hope it will be an offensive minded one. Here is an interesting article pertaining to the success of offensive vs defensive HC hiring's. It’s no secret the league has trended to offensive head coaches over the last few years as teams search for the next Sean McVay (Rams) or Kyle Shanahan (49ers). Since 2019, there have been 30 head coaching openings in the NFL. 20 of those openings were filled by offensive coaches, nine by defensive coaches, and one by a special teams coach. When looking at the combined record of these coaches, offensive coaches have had much more success. The 20 head coaches have a combined record of 341-339-4 (.502) in the regular season, with two Super Bowl appearances (Bruce Arians and Zac Taylor) and one Super Bowl victory (Arians). However, only eight of those 20 coaches have a winning record. Records of NFL head coaches hired from 2019-2022 who came with an offensive background. When it comes to the defensive coaches hired in that span, they have fared far worse. The nine head coaches have a combined record of 116-166-2 (.412) in the regular season with no playoff wins. Only one of those head coaches has a winning record, current Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley.
  7. Thanks for the good article. Now we wait to see how it all plays out!
  8. I am not saying that QB Trey Lance would be a great pickup but for those thinking the 49ers will give him away real cheap after what it it took to obtain him, may need to reconsider. " San Francisco's trade with the Dolphins 19 months ago allowed it to move up in that year's draft and select quarterback Trey Lance No. 3 overall, while Miami walked away with the No. 12 pick in 2021, first-round selections in 2022 and 2023 and a third-round pick in 2022. "
  9. If the Panthers could get him for this years 2nd and next years 5th, i would be all for in on that.
  10. I am not disagreeing with you but who in your opinion, who will the Panthers hire as the new HC?
  11. Your building of the pseudo cumulative distribution function was very impressive,to say the least..
  12. They changed the name of Vance HS to Chambers HS, honoring Julius Chambers, who was a famous lawyer, civil rights leader, and educator from North Carolina. The school officially changed its name in a ceremony July 14, 2021.
  13. CHARLOTTE — The Panthers added another defensive back to the offseason roster Wednesday. The team signed safety Myles Dorn 6'2" 205 lbs, to a reserve/future deal. The 24-year-old Dorn, a Charlotte native who played at Chambers High and the University of North Carolina as a running back and later at defensive back. Dorn has spent the last three seasons with the Vikings. He played in five games for the Vikings this season and nine last year. He's the son of former NFL cornerback Torin Dorn.
  14. My choice now is Shane Steichen, Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator: The Panthers interviewed Steichen virtually on Saturday, a league source confirmed. The Eagles have a first-round bye in the playoffs, so Steichen was eligible for a virtual interview this weekend. He will not be able to interview in person with any team until the Eagles are eliminated from the playoffs or get a bye week before the Super Bowl. 15. I am trying to think how many different ways I can say no to the Panthers obtaining Payton+ Brady.
  16. I cannot stand either team and gladly switched channels in the 3rd quarter!
  17. Yeah!! That had a black stripe on each end. One of my relatives has one similar that was passed down to him. I believe the old Cleveland Brown QB Otto Grahams name is printed on it.
  18. Different! Different! Different! Some times "Different" is not better!
  19. I hate to give up future draft picks but if the Panthers could obtain the No. 5 for Nos. 9, 93 and a 2024 first-round pick, I would be all for it.
  20. That certainly sounds like a solid plan. Now, let's do it!
