Well that’s a huge part of it. You have up a pick for a dude that odds and sentiment favored would be there is roundS later. The argument all it takes is 1 team isn’t something I care for because a wildcard could take out anyone and you could use that defense on every decision ever made
-
lol if you play simple odds and math the genius move is to criticize every pick that isn’t a first rounder and you basically are going to generally be right the overwhelming majority of the time lol. And that’s without even looking at who we pick at any point.
-
The 3rd round pick defense is the definition of just blind defense of the home team. We would knock any other team for the reach given the the better options/football players available . if you can’t knock the pick then you basically are arguing no pick by any team should be criticized .

Well, I still feel this should be a Young focused draft. And that’s pretty much my view. think the draft should be WR, TE, OG, pass catching RB as priority adds Think round 2 and 3 were ideal to get two of the first 3 in that list. RB later on. -

Steelers just took him. And they got a better TE than Hurst already on the roster in Pat Freiermuth. -

There are dudes in the 3rd round of this draft that don’t need 3-4 years to blossom. You talking about blossoming at near 30 given his age. we just drafted a rookie QB #1 overall. We aren’t a win immediately team. We got to develop our QB. should of just drafted that 6’7 UGA TE instead and focused on Bryce Young’s development. -

I mean, I think the last 2 picks have been a little bit of reaches. Not saying I don’t like the players but I think you could have traded down to get both of them….definitely don’t like the trade up. -
Dave Tepper has become a major asset for the Panthers
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
yeah, and the Panthers PR is essentially they built this great offense for a rookie QB. I just don't see that. We added a journeyman TE. Decent. We are overrating him because our TE play has been non-existent post Olsen. We added a WR that has been hurt his entire career. Suited up for only 65% of his available games. An aging and declining Theilen who I do like being paired up w/ a rookie QB. and a returning 3rd year player with 1 career TD that still hasn't amassed 500 career yards. and a very solid runner who isn't known for his great dual threat ability. Backed up by stone hands Chubba. I do like Sanders. But he isn't CMC. He needs help to round out the backfield. I'd rather the draft focus on the offense. Focus at looking at WR/TE/OG talent. Especially rounds 2-3. Try to find a pass catching RB late. I think this should be a draft about Young. Not spreading the draft assets all over the roster. -

this! You can draft a super talented QB. Give him a bunch of average joes and you most likely are going to look like you got a bust on your hands. I don't think our current setup is a place where a #1 overall pick is setup to thrive and grow at the moment. Think the offense around what a rookie QB present day will be is being drastically overrated by some. You can look at most of the recent rookies that have really shined. They were in great places from an offensive skill stand point around them. Why did Cam, then Luck, then Herbert set records in passing? It wasn't just there talent. They had casts around them made for a rookie QB to have success. I care more about Young developing than our W/L record in 2023. -
Colts taking Will Levis in the 2nd after drafting AR15?

lol. Let me see how mad the fans would be before I make my staff do what I want. -
I've been studying arm length, gait and everything Matt Rhule taught me was important. I can say with confidence the Panthers are definitely going to draft the young man from that college. The one with the silly mascot. I'm in the best TE/WR camp. But think it will be D.

Joe Person: Dave Tepper tipped Panthers next pick
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, Cam's weapons were just flat out better when he was young and developing. Which for is the key for a young QB IMO. You got to give him weapons early. Especially his first 3 seasons as a pro Cam had a good cast. I'd rather give a young QB great weapons early and then adjust later. Not start weak and slowly add. Think they develop better when life is good early.- 40 replies

Signficantly better than anything Cam had? Cam's rookie receiving option were better than what we have now. 89, Olsen, Shockey, Lafell, LEGATRON!!!!!, 2 pro bowl RBs? There is a reason 89 broke the rookie passing record. He had basically an ideal group around him.- 40 replies

Levis got too much bro swag to him. Think his personality works against him.

CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He admitted a mistake only after waiting even longer than she should have. Mistake was more than evident after the 2022 season. And he still went on and completely and pointlessly wasted the 2023 season. it's like giving Jimmy Clausen one more year in 2011 to be the starter....arguing that 2010 wasn't enough to really be sure. To date Tepper hasn't been a good owner. We have been an unstable and losing org. That's the facts and that's how you judge him. Maybe he will turn into one. -

Fug that mentality. We need to grow Bryce with the best weapons we can get him. We got an assemble of guys who aren’t likely to be long term fixtures and/or just solid. It’s an offensive league. Burrow, Mahomes, etc grew with the best 1-2 weapons arguably in the NFL. Weapons matter. And look at a Trevor or Tua last year. Change the weapons and it changes the QB. And they still not giving Trevor what he needs to really grow and go. but yeah, I’ve felt they would go D. They should snag a speedster WR or equip us to go heavy 2 TE.- 40 replies

Round 1 - The Carolina Panthers Select Bryce Young - QB - Alabama
CRA replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Super talented. High character. Smart. regardless of who you wanted, it should be super easy to pull for Young and be excited -
Captain Munnerlyn. 7th Round. Became one of the top nickel corners in all the NFL. That's extreme value. Panthers just ended up mismanaging him by putting him outside because they had no one else that could play.
-
Doesn’t work like that though. Rhule couldn’t even manage Teddy Bridgewater’s personality. Cam wouldn’t have even been drafted by Rhule. He probably trades the pick and brings in some Vinny T type. Vinny T type that would follow his bullshit BRAND. Don’t forget Cam was roasting all the bullhshit he saw day 1 that existed in Carolina. Also, there is no way Matt Rhule wasn’t tossing folks under the bus hard as Cam struggled in year 2. Namely Cam. Matt Rhule was a bad coach. Our worst. But I got no further interest in discussing something that isn’t needed.
-
Ron and Fox basically the same dude. And it’s not a debate about Ron being good or not. Neither belong in this era. Good coaches though. Game just passing them by. it’s a simple one of him clearly being better than Matt Rhule Matt Rhule is the worst coach in our history. There is no argument that he isn’t. And if you want to argue Ron is worse than that is just Ron hate so comical that it causes nonsensical things to be proclaimed
