I still contend they are the same guy. You can also use John Fox. End of the day all 3 are what they are. and what Wilks allowed to occur on the 4 yard is completely bonkers. Wins end up making people overlook horrific stuff like that. I think Wilks is great with the players. But stuff like that, shows he isn't a good game manager of a football team IMO. Other examples too. We probably should of beat the Rams. But Wilks flat out went bonkers with his game management that day. So crazy that it was realistic to ask if the goal was to lose. I like Wilks the same way I liked Ron and Fox. I think they are decent coaches that know how to deal with adults. But it's 2022. I want an offensive HC.

I think Wilks is a fine football coach. But I still contend he is Ron Rivera all over again. I just don't think he can lead a present day NFL team to really contend in this offensive era. To naturally risk adverse. And when he does "mix it up"......it stuff like we saw on Sunday with 4 pass plays from the 4. That's not good offensive game management.

Inside the 5….and you call 4 straight Sam Darnold passes to turn it over on downs. That’s clown stuff.

It's like a draft pick. Situation matters. I mean, if Tom Brady went to some military college and they ran the triple option.....he would have sucked. Coaching, scheme, talent. All that impacts how a player grows or plays. I mean, Rams vs Carolina. Rams have a significantly better offensive guy running that show. That's going to help not hurt a player. Not just QB. You could put Kupp on a lot of teams he wouldn't be the same guy either. Bad O scheme. Bad QB. Behind a bad O. It limits his potential.

Baker was running McAdoo's/Rhule overly predictable RPO bullshit here way too much. Wilks immediate came in and had McAdoo quit doing that all game. Baker was 54% under Rhule. 66% under Wilks. That a pretty big difference. McAdoo is bad. Having a real bad HC over McAdoo is a worst case scenario. And it's still not going to be good with Wilks over McAdoo but Wilks at least knows NFL football.

“Matt, hear me out, RPO. Defenses won’t no what’s coming at them”.

We had CMC and DJ and weeks of prep though
-
Baker with the best game statistically on the season…..with a couple days prep, brand new team, missing their stud WR.

Phil Snow is what Matt Rhule stood on as he faked his way through football. If I was Nebraska, Phil Snow would have had to be part of the deal if Rhule was coming. I mean, does anyone actually do their homework on these coaches before spending millions?

HOT TAKE Jaycee Horn isin't a shutdown corner
CRA replied to DMathematics's topic in Carolina Panthers
Fun fact. here is a screen shot of me and Joe Horn talking on a zoom call today. He too said Jaycee is a shutdown corner. I don't know why he was wearing a helmet today. He sillier than you would think. -

Well the rest of the team still matters. We’ve had a much better overall roster than than the Bears. Better D and better skill talent around the QB. All the Bears have to do now is add some non bottom of the barrel talent around Fields. -

Hotter Take: Jayce Horn hasn’t even played a full season yet. He isnt suppose to be Revis Island yet. Revis wasn’t. Reality is Horn has been great when on the field. All that said, we should have drafted Fields. QB play is significantly more impactful than a DB. Especially for a team without one. -
I mean McVay is one of the best play callers around and he has one of the best WRs. I wouldn’t be shocked if he wasn’t the ultimate trainwreck. we really don’t do offense. I mean Baker sucks. But he might not be as bad some expect.

Person looks at Mayfield, Rhule and "revisionist history"
CRA replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
reality is... Sam Darnold's worst season of a bad career was in Carolina Baker Mayfield's worst season of a disappointing career was in Carolina I mean, we like to blame them for sucking. And they do. But we made them extra horrible IMO -

well in theory it shouldn't happen only because of that..... I'd equate it to dating someone. They get drunk, take off their clothes and start dancing on the table at Applebees. You probably shouldn't keep dating them. And you shouldn't date them because that one moment.....was a red flag and foreshadowing of what will come later. Everyone is going to make mistakes. Especially in the lotto that is acquiring people to play football. That move by our GM just seems to be something different and a giant red flag. That's not smart business and not your run of the mill error IMO. -
I take the question as who the best for the Carolina Panthers. Heinicke had 1 TD in a Carolina uniform. So he doesn't register for me. But I agree, I'd most like to have him on the roster today based on what we have seen overall from the QBs in the NFL. So Heinicke is #1 on one way of looking at it and at the bottom the other way.

I think that was pretty well documented. Phil Snow birthed the thought. Matt Rhule then got on board. Fitt IMO still should of lost his job for picking up the 5th year sight unseen. -

the Baker add was the only QB gamble that was actually a sound business move. Because he was dirt cheap. And that’s what you should do with bad QBs you want to gamble on…..so him not working out isn’t a big deal. I think it is safe to say that was still a Rhule move. In real time it was reported the front office was split on Baker. Which implied the split was Rhule/Fitt. And Baker fit the win now/show something scenario that only Rhule was in -
Report: Teams are doing homework on Jim Harbaugh
CRA replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d take Harbaugh. probably too big of a personality for Tepper. Might be for most front offices. -
I mean, if I ran a more true pro style offense I would gamble on him. There just aren't tons of them in college anymore. Good kid. Good leader. Does it all the right way. That's what kept him in the starting role so long. Think his confidence is completely shot though. I personally think DJ ends up being a package deal with his brother. Think he is the #1 DE coming out of HS. He has a pretty involved dad that mixes it up with stuff.
