Jared Feinberg's Panthers v Jaguars film review
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bills might be the best team in the NFL…..and skill position talent around Josh Allen is mid. Mahomes has mid skill talent. By year 3, great QBs start making things happen regardless of what is around them. They start making players. it’s the never ending being Bryce excuse. It’s an all star staff, it’s best spot for QB rookie, a roster that rivals 2003…..then it’s all them. It’s not Bryce. Ignore the best offensive day of the entire season was a washed Andy Dalton. all offseason people were overjoyed with the WRs. Our greatest strength….now they are bums. Bryce has no talent. Good QBs make the deep pass to TMac, they make the pass to Renfrow, they don’t chunk the 4th down ball to the stands, they see the S run from his assignment to jump a different route and that INT doesn’t happen……it’s Bryce first and foremost. QBs are supposed to make people better. The argument is always they need to make Bryce better. -
if I was looking to bet on some upsets this week....the state of South Carolina got two teams that look ripe to get beat pending some big changes ain't coming.
-
the first INT on XL? lol wut? I question anyone who watches the balls to Hunter Renfrow Sunday.....and thinks it was a Hunter issue. we are also at the point where tough 50/50 balls (like to Saunders) are now deemed layups our guys should get 100% of the time. They are called 50/50 for a reason.
-
Bryce can be a great human. We can also cut him after this year and literally no one should feel bad for him. Dude is going to walk away with 37 million dollars and his health. How many humans get 37 mill to be bad at their jobs seasonal job for 3 years.
-
I think the well was intentionally left dry......because if you put someone with a real NFL arm out there....it sort of becomes obvious to all his teammates the difference even in camp/practice. And how long can you deal w/ that in house and w/ the fanbase?
-
Frank clearly wasn't allowed to staff his team as he wanted. Canales clearly wasn't either either. Post Rhule, someone is dictating what the HCs can and can't do w/ their staff it appears. And yeah, an O coach isn't hands on with a D. But it doesn't mean they wouldn't want like minded people they wanted and worked well with on board.

PFF awards BY a high grade than Trevor. Trevor meanwhile had less turnovers, more passing yards, better comp %, better QBR, better QB rating, and his team won. Was Trevor great? Nah. He was pretty mid. But I'm glad week 1 is really highlighting the fictional gobble goo that PFF looses itself in. All those folks living and dying by the PFF arguments about Bryce Young last year......need to pay attention to what PFF is doing right now. Because this is basically a variation of what PFF was doing w/ Bryce last year. Just gaslighting folks on Bryce.
-
if BY threw the ball well, Tmac and Renfrow would have both had very good days. I mean, I don' think Canales is very good. But the game still setup for a lot of big pass plays that didn't happen because of BY
-
you can clown him for the deep ball to Tmac he actually got off. Tmac had the defender beat over the top. Tmac had to hit the breaks and come to a complete stop and wait on it to come down. Then it becomes a 50/50 ball we thankfully got PI on. you can't clown him for the one he didn't get off....you just can't assume he would have made a good throw if he got it off
-
I don't think Canales was doing Evero a solid. The Carolina front office wouldn't let Evero go. Which was always weird. Someone at BOA hasn't been letting head coaches be in total power. Frank wasn't. Canales doesn't appear to be

We saw Tmac beat his man earlier in the game for a nice vertical throw. Bryce couldn't make a good throw. Tmac had to hit the breaks and come to a complete stop. Became a true contested 50/50 ball that never should of been that. We thankfully got the PI out of it. WR vertical downfield with a step on a defender is BY's worst throws. He underthrows them or leads them out of bounds. There is no easy TD for BY on those.
-
so you are going with just a horrific pass to Saunders? well, I guess I am less of a Bryce hater than some think. Because I don't think BY is THAT bad.
-
correct, when BY looks, the throw isn't there. Then he can't see as the play develops into a wide open Saunders in front of him for a relatively easy throw. 2 things prevented that TD. Bryce getting blind/size issue and Bryce giving up and opting to chunk it into the stands as Saunders get in place for an easy score. What do people think Dave told Bryce after that play?
-
https://x.com/jasrifootball/status/1965104365515276647?s=46 Saunders still gets wide open in front off Bryce for an easy throw and is staring BY down…..Bryce just gave up looking for a throw and had committed to just sailing into out of bounds by that point though (and Bryce no longer looking to make a real play). which I suspect is what Dave likely could of said to him that caused that helmet smash. Good QBs find those throws when things aren't perfectly executed. That certainly what he is supposed to be for us right now. But it's still just all the WRs fault for the 3rd year in a row. Or coaches. Or OLs.

we have Jaycee Horn's incredible INT to thank for it not being the Travis Hunter show today. would have been an 8 catch, 100ish yard day if not for that.
-
what route was he supposed to run? even if he did.... the entire thing setup perfect in the end for a relatively easy throw Saunders right in front of Bryce's face.
-
I mean, the path to beating AZ is repeating the plan that beat them last year....which really looked like the initial plan on Sunday. Which is run the ball. Hope AZ makes some mistakes. Ask BY to do little and not fug it up. BY fugged it up Sunday.
-
Maybe it’s some PR scheme at this point because PFF is saying, Bryce is a top 10 QB thus far into season. He is at the #9 ranking lol.
-
USA Today has the same numbers up in their weekly top 5 https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/09/08/panthers-pff-grades-jaguars-week-1/86041090007/ I would write PFF and demand a refund I still paid for their stuff. I quit a long time ago when they would just randomly put out some mindboggling stuff. Overall, I do like them for some things. But they get whacked out sometimes with stuff that is just wildly off. Whatever formula they use to check their boxes....can still run counter to basic reality at times when it all dumps in.
-
PFF will remind you over and over again.....why they can't be actually be trusted and often put out bunk info. Bryce with the #3 best O performance is your reminder. No sane person would actually say BY was better Sunday than Hubbard nor would say they they were even in the same ballpark that day. No one should be paying for PFF if that's what they are saying after Sunday.
-
ignoring Canales? I don't like anything Carolina has going on at essentially anywhere. Owners, GM, HC, players. I don't think Canales is good. I think he is a cheerleader that will need players to basically bail out his meh O. And I would prefer he just be cheerleader HC and go hire someone to do his O for him. I said that year 1 of Canales.
-
I 100% see Pete Carroll's influence on Canales O' in Tampa and now Carolina. Canales is very much old school in terms of building out his offensive gameplan and play calling.
-
for all the "dawg" talk....Panthers have essentially no attitude on the entire roster. I mean, you can maybe make the Horn argument because of his play style but even Horn comes off as a pretty dang nice dude. The ending of the Ron/Cam era.....ended the dawgs in Carolina. Think Rhule couldn't handle a locker room if they existed. And we have never added them back once that house cleaning occurred.
