  1. Oh I agree but he Actually is better than what I expected. I was pretty sure we were going to get Nixon or someone Rhule knew from college that had position coaching experience just because nobody at all in their right mind should want to be here next year lol
  2. He also loved Rosen so a bit hit or miss there tbh. And not wanting Darnold at 3 is different from not liking him... Seems he saw him as a bigger developmental project than the Jets, that's all. Honestly he isn't the worst possible candidate because at least he has a ton of NFL experience.
  3. I doubt legit NFL coaches want anything to do in with our poo show.
  4. Darnold had terrible decision making when he had time. He has trouble reading defenses. Maybe if he had more time to do it he could get better at it but I doubt it. Our OL was one of the worst in the league in pass block win rate. The idea that any of our QBs had tons of time is wild.
  5. Other than a star OT, it seems much easier / more consistent to build the OL thru rounds after the 1st than it is to find a good QB, too. I do think we need to invest in the OL this offseason but ideally this is the last time we will be in the top 10 for a while, so if Fitterers guys are sold on one of these QBs I do hope we take them. I just worry what Rhule would do to a rookie QB. Dude is such an awful coach he might ruin whomever it is...
  6. Ah you mean in last year's draft? I mean, other than Tom Brady, what playoff teams are running with a QB not taken in the first round? Dallas and Philly? QBs often take time to make as much of an impact as OL. Not always, but usually.
  7. Er? By what measure? This isn't true. In general OL is critical but so is QB. It's technically easier to build an OL outside the first round, harder to do so for QB. But I'm not great at evaluating QBs to know if any of these are worthwhile. Unfortunately it looks like our staff is just as bad a I am lol.
  8. None of those three were can't miss. Burrows was a one year wonder, Tua had HUGE concerns about durability, and Herbert had injury history / leadership questions. This doesn't mean those criticisms were valid but they were not can't miss prospects.
  9. Trading back isn't easy in weak QB classes though, and the best OL are going to go pretty high. Trading back could let us get ab IOL but that's betting a lot on BC.
  10. not knowing how good someone is, is still better than knowing someone is fuging garbage
  11. Darnold is a veteran that just had one of the worst seasons of a starting QB in the NFL - his fourth consecutive case for being the worst starter in the league. Jones and fields are both promising rookies - one of whom had a better season than Darnold outright, and the other of which flashed great talent repeatedly, but is still raw...
  12. Right but everything you're saying is no different from "Rhule is fuging incompetent" which is true of the explanation he gave as well as the personnel choices he makes on the field. Horn may very well be a better player and a better fit, but he had to go stuff his foot in his mouth anyway. He just comes off as having no clue what he's doing or saying often lately.
  13. Yeah the thing is everyone makes mistakes in the draft. But not everyone tries to make it sound like they actually weren't wrong etc. It's okay to like one player over another but you don't need to come off like an idiot in saying that. Horn may very well be a better pick long-term. That will never justify rhules comments lol
  14. Lack of versatility clear and his arms are too short. Who takes an IOL top ten?
  15. And yet so many people claim he's stealing RB TDs. So dumb. Our red zone offense was crazy effective with Cam this year... The issue was getting there. The red zone is a place I think we've seen a second QB can work depending on the tempo of the game. If Cam is cool being a backup potentially I hope they bring him back to compete with another veteran FA for the QB spot (or with Darnold). Ofc instead we signed PJ immediately so uh there's that.
  16. I agree 2023 looks brighter than 2022 right now. But we have to hope Rhule and Fitt are being handicapped on what future assets they can trade, or the future gets a lot dimmer.
  17. Current state does enable same offseason future state flexibility tho. We can recover some ground but the point is how far below other teams in our same wins situation we are. Even the scenario you describe doesn't move us very far probably because I suspect it's weighting our first rounder based on where it is, and that is the kind of move other teams could make too. I don't think this is a figure that says "be pessimistic about 2022 no matter what," but it does suggest what we already know just from limited cap space and missing our 2nd and 3rd rounders because we traded for rehab projects. Oh well.
  18. I would say that yes, having a 2nd and 3rd is probably more offseason resources personally, given how malleable the cap is.
  19. The point of the composite score is how difficult flipping that overnight would be. We have very little offseason flexibility. Sure we could mortgage the future to increase draft capital this year, work out some trades to offload players etc... But that's hard to do. We have less room to make moves than many other teams...
  20. there fixed it for you also I deleted the Falcons cause fug Atlanta
  21. oh yeah well now do one that shows our Process Composite Score. bet nobody beats our 1000%
  22. Good teams overcome penalties for sure. It has felt the last few couple seasons like we definitely can't. I think you're right win percentage doesn't tightly correlate with penalties per game or per snap or whatever.
  23. I mean the reason we are ranked where we are is we have among the most turnovers in the NFL per game (tied for 2nd most I believe), and also have a relatively high number of penalties (bottom third of the league). Worth noting we also were pretty bad in takeaways this year, with half as many as some playoff teams.
  24. I mean is this a surprise? It took colossal failure and multiple injuries for the LT we drafted to see the field because he also isn't the ideal LT size or whatever. fuging Rhule, man. Dude couldn't help himself. Could just have said we took the player we had rated highest, had to dig himself a fuging hole lol
