  1. the maddening part is this roster is more promising in terms of its strength at critical young positions yet the coaching is so fuging terrible I want to gouge my eyes out whenever I watch this team for more than 1 drive most weeks.
  2. we'll need one after our first round pick regresses in a startling and disappointing way in his second season, leading to numerous fans calling the player a bust. and ofc we will resign DJax and let Gilmore walk.
  3. lol imagine being a coaching staff that prides itself on talent development and refusing to play your fuging rookies that play well at positions of desperate need
  4. this is fuging unwatchable. all defenses need to do is watch a bit of tape to figure out our offense?? really? actually our success with Cam now makes sense. New QB, new plays, no film on him. Then they get some film on the QB+OC combo and we get shut down. Same way it was with Darnold, just took longer since we had a bigger playbook to work with.
  5. I liked Ron as a person but being a better coach than Rhule does not make him a good coach, either.
  6. plenty of us criticize cam and don't get called racists. if you're new to the board (looking at you @glenwo2) there actually was a very long list of racist posters here the first time Cam was around that mods gradually banned as they showed their true colors. Very early on, we had posters claiming because he was black he couldn't win a superbowl (yes, this did happen), focusing exclusively on his negatives, claiming they didn't like how he looked, that he didn't REALLY care about football, commenting derogatorily about his personal life, called him "Scam", continued to hold up shitty debunked draft reports about him faking smiles, etc etc. Meanwhile they would always be begging for our (white) backup QBs... now I dont know if any current posters hold any of those thoughts, but the racism around Cam in this franchise was VERY REAL. In early 2015 I got into an argument with a Panthers fan that argued Derek Anderson should be starting for us because he had moxie and had what it takes to win, whereas Cam just didn't have "it".
  7. 2 drops I think in the first drive and then some terrible throws on his part, some bad routes by WR/quitting on routes, typical Brady playcalling, etc. One nice throw to DJ for a long gain.
  8. this team has so much talent, but the coaches keep bungling it. we even had a decent OL going for a while and then they go and rotate players around again...
  9. I dont mind players celebrating good plays but yeah. I can barely watch this team. I'm not sure i'll tune back in after half time. just feels pointless.
  10. Darnold may suck, but this game makes me wonder how much of this offenses issues was always on the WR coaching staff / OC, because these guys haven't played with intensity consistently all year. The narrative they hated Darnold or whatever from training camp never made sense. Something more serious is wrong with this offense.
  11. Ugh what the hell is going on... Cam was so good last week.
  12. Yes the 40 yard pass was a little late or slightly underthrown, but such passes often are... Some of our fans are never happy.
  13. Not sure he would for this team. We seem to have serious issues developing talent that didn't come from temple or baylor
  14. With regards to Cam maybe favoring some part of the field... I'm not worried... Worth noting mid way thru last season new England sports media picked up on the cam can't throw to the left fears we had before his release. There was a nice breakdown of that done by FTW at the time: https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/new-england-patriots-offense-cam-newton-throwing-right-side-injury at least as a patriot Cam seemed to have the ability to throw all over the field but would go thru stretches of neglecting a side, maybe because he had dog poo at receiver there?
  15. His passer rating was highest to his right, then middle, but doesn't quite tell us what he favors since there are other factors involved.
  16. For like 3 of his games... Maybe 4, altho I think even the eagles game he was bad but not Clausen bad... Darnold has 4x as many TDs as Clausen did in fewer games played... Darnold still sucked but yeah lol
  17. The difference imo is that includes the doldrums of the end of Fox (2010 was... Very bad) but 2011 and 2012 were to me more optimistic because of how fuging good Cam looked in those first couple years... The long term future to me just doesn't seem as bright now, but Rivera and Cam did really come together at the end of the period you highlight so maybe Rhule and Cam can figure something out over the next bit...
  18. Our playbook was limited before Darnold started to suck, tho. It's why the Cowboys pointed out for the world how they knew our routes... Which the eagles capitalized on. I thought that meant Darnold didn't know the offense well enough for variable calls but man it looks the same no matter who we have at QB in that regard. Teams just know our plays...
  19. Yup. Heine is playing well but part of that is feeding McLaurin
  20. It isn't unique to Turner. There's been a few situations where it feels like we were figured out in high pressure situations. I think we have the talent to turn that around tho.
