So less then 10%? Well it isn't all I will grant you that.

What NFL owner isn't a shitty boss behind the scenes? I'll wait. Tepper is already seen that way I would guess. Spilt milk and all that. Maybe it is the ghost of keeping Hurney and where that led but I am fine with Friterer having to earn his spot next year. There isn't an employee in house that I think shouldn't at this point.

How could we not give Fitt another chance?!?
Waldo replied to DMathematics's topic in Carolina Panthers
No just the work he did here. You keep blaming all Rhule when he definitely had a hand in this mess to some degree and he also willingly signed up for it. You act like he is the victim which would just mean he was an idiot for taking the job and his experience would then come into question. Your argument lays zero blame at his feet and I say he was involved to an unknown degree but he also signed up for it. I'm not the one playing absolutes here Scott. -
He was hired to be Rhule's GM and Rhule wanted him so he is a Rhule guy because he signed on to all of that. He said yes to that job and then did the dirty deeds Rhule wanted. There is nothing disingenuous about that, thems facts. He still did the deed and did not resign so he was fine with being part of the move and the video of them talking about it did not show him having any issues with the Darnold trade lol. I never said it was all bad but it has not been good, jesus Hurney had positives but I wanted him gone for years. I haven't seen enough good from Friterer but I did say he could go and earn it the rest of the year but I am not giving him a damn thing going forward. There are much better options out there and I hope to god Tepper hires an outside consultant this time. If Fritterer can navigate the rest of the season and put us in a good spot for the new crew then fine keep earning that job.

He helped take a SB team and turn it into the stale bag of lame it is up in Seattle lol, post legion of boom and most of their good picks. Can't even say he helped with the best move they made in years by ditching Wilson lol. -
Fritterer was a Rhule guy so he is a GM worthy of being under a midtier college coach? McAdoo has plenty of experience yet he is still terrible. I call BS. Show me where Fritterer has positive experience working in an organization with a traditional GM / HC rolls? Pre 2009 maybe? Simply put we can do better and it was a weak hire when they pulled the trigger. What matters more to other hires than Fritteres being given an unearned promotion after 2 years of failure is how Tepper handles the firing which I seriously doubt he is ready to do the corect way. That scares me way more than people being pissed off about a guy who teaded for Sam Darnold being replaced for someone better.

Some positivity regarding the current Roster
Waldo replied to Kentucky Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
We should all grade rookies on their first couple of games lol. He was a prospect that needed some time but wasn't a project. He took his lumps and will have a few more yet but we have a legit LT now and hopefully a long time. -
That situation was the one he was prepared for by being in a similar organization up in Seattle where the HC rules all, that was why Rhule wanted him. He fit that mold and would operate in that kind of system. Saying it's not fair he doesn't get a shot at a job type he wasn't hired for or have much experience with is a bit misleading. He was never a final say GM so just giving it to him is a complete shot in the dark when we could hire GM prospect trained in that kind of environment. He had his fair shot when he decided to sign on to a mess. It stinks but he did say yes to being a GM on a leash and to Rhule of all coaches. No one can downplay his decision there. I'm OK with seeing how he handles the rest of this year and him earning his job next year but no one owes him a damn thing he doesn't earn going forward. The season is still long from finished and all these guys have to play nice with each other while facing an uphill battle for wins.

He is a dinosaur and will be NFL extinct soon. He went up there and did exactly what many thought he would because he is so predictable. It is always the QBs fault and never his inability to put them in a good spot. D Jones says Hi and is a great example of why we should not go with a defensive backed coach this time.

What would convince you that Wilks should be the guy?
Waldo replied to Jaxel's topic in Carolina Panthers
He doesn't look like Ron lite and has some competency in putting together an offense that is basic but also a lot more effective than the pooshow we have seen all year. I expect a lot more running and rotation of non-Rhule guys. I am guessing the offense remains really bad and he runs too many soft zones in the D. I would be happy to be wrong tho. -
I'm not so sure he is willing or desires to work with or under another NFL GM or Owner after what went down in SF. I get the opposite feeling. He knows he likes the colligate level and wants nothing to do with all the NFL BS he has been avoiding. Good coach but I don't see him coming back to the NFL anytime soon.

The more that comes out. The more it shows how deep the issues are
Waldo replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ahh the front office Hurney built. So there is more. Go ahead and fire the cap guy also. We need new people and a huge shakeup in the front office side. -
Don’t be surprised if Panthers beat Rams Sunday
Waldo replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol maybe. Who knows how this team comes out and the Rams look not good so far. It could also be a get right game for the Rams. I have no idea and that is so much better than knowing what we would have got for a game just last week. -
I agree that you can't blame him for everything under Rhule but he also wasn't a great hire, just the guy that would take a GM lite job under Rhule who was hand picked by Rhule. Maybe he is good or maybe he is worse than some of us think but he was never hired to be a full or real GM so grading him by the job he took and did is fair even if there is the asterisk of Rhule's rule attached. He even came from an organization where the GM took his directions from their HC so it's not like he was trained to be a fully functioning GM in the traditional since. It could just as easily say it's not fair to give that kind of candidate the benefit of the doubt when there are better options out there for a traditional GM role.

I hope you are right.

The list of offensive coordinators as first time hires had me excited about potential options. The list of failures that already proved they were better coordinators than HCs make me realize I had better learn to settle for the safe meh because it sure feels like that is what we are rushing towards. And fug Payton, it wouldn't work here and I doubt he doesn't washout in 2 years wherever he goes. Talking on TV is such a cushy job compared with the coaching grind. His best days are years behind him.

Person: Rhule ran the team at times "like his personal kingdom"
Waldo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
But all those leaks were faked by the media to make him look bad unfairly... Sounds like the smoke did indeed lead to a fire. -
That would be a deal killer for me also. I was always expecting a washed up HC but I at least thought they would have had some success in the past as a HC...
