He would ‘Win’ in the PR department by building a stadium without tax funds. If he wants to be liked, there’s his chance.

Tepper’s net worth is $20 billion. 5% interest on that is 1 billion a year. He can pay for his own stadium by just saving his interest income. Realistically, a bank would give him a 0.5% (or less) interest loan given his assets and the value of the new stadium. I’m gonna pass on using tax funds for that. I know CLT has all this tourist tax money, but we can find better uses of that.

That’s the only possible way I could see other owners backing a relocation. They don’t want any city (especially one like Charlotte) to get away with not paying big for a stadium.

Agreed, but it can’t be good for business to have a team which represents two states be mismanaged and have 10 losing seasons in a row. This is coming for us. Maybe have a bylaw that enables the league to take over the management of a team in that scenario. The owner still gets the money but they are banned from the building and from talking to players and coaches.

Tepper having less money wouldn’t change his personality or make him smarter. If anything, the NFL should put some guidelines around owner conduct to make sure they put a good product on the field. What Tepper is doing to this team is really bad for the league.

I would like the league to take away a draft pick. That would be the most embarrassing punishment for him.
