  1. lol I doubt it. Maybe not taking Stroud, but Reich was never going to be the answer.
  2. I'm not seeing your point. Are you saying that had we drafted Stroud that Reich would have worked out? I don't buy that at all. As bad as Bryce Young has been, anyone with eyes can see how terrible Reich's scheme was. The regression of the OL alone was enough of a reason to fire him.
  3. No. Hurney was involved with hiring Matt Rhule.
  4. Wilks would have been a FAR better hire than Reich, but neither of them was ever the long-term answer that was going to make us into a contender. No doubt Tepper wanted to trade up for a QB, but he's not the one who keeps missing on almost every draft pick he's made since being hired, including the mid-late round picks that Tepper has nothing to do with. By no means am I defending Tepper. He's awful. But his awfulness shouldn't take away from how bad both Reich and Fitterer were. On the contrary, the fact that he hired them both is the best example of just how bad an owner he is.
  5. I think that is being overblown. Maybe Reich did prefer Stroud, but I don't think it was a situation where he was the lone voice in the organization saying we should take him over Bryce. And I honestly don't think Stroud would look anywhere near as good as he has had we drafted him. Taking a different QB wouldn't have made Reich the answer. Maybe it would have bought him more time, but does anyone really think Frank Reich was ever going to coach this team to a Super Bowl, with Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud or anyone else?
  6. Wilks would have also been a mistake, though certainly a far better hire than Reich. Fitterer needs to go to. Let's get a GM & HC who are actually on the same page for once during Teppers time as owner.
  7. Tepper deserves plenty of criticism, but not for firing Reich. That had to be done.
  8. I agree, but Fitterer is by no means the first experienced executive to get a GM job and fail horribly. This is what I meant in that other thread last week when I said I legitimately think there are fans out there who could do a better job than many NFL GMs. I think sometimes these NFL scouts and executives over-analyze draft prospects, which leads to major mistakes. I also think ego is a major factor, as it is with practically every aspect of every organization.
  9. It happens all the time. Certainly Tepper has made things worse with his meddling, but I promise you it ain't Tepper continually whiffing on mid-late round draft picks, leaving us with little to no depth. Tepper has no doubt pushed for certain moves (the trade-up, the Watson chase, a few others) but Fitterer is absolutely to blame for his own piss poor draft record and free agent busts.
  10. I don't blame him. He's probably right to think that. Most interim HC's don't end up getting hired.
  11. He needs to be gone ASAP. We need to have a new GM in place when we begin the next coaching search. I don't have a big issue with giving Reich the rest of the season, but we don't need to be looking for a GM and HC at the same time if we can help it. Get the GM lined up by season's end so that he can assist in the HC search.
  12. I disagree with this. HC jobs are hard enough to come by that there will always be interested candidates. There are more aspiring head coaches than openings 100% of the time. The trick is finding the right guy. The hot candidates aren't always the best candidates. Plus Tepper has deep pockets, so I'm sure if he really wants someone he can pay them what it takes to get them to sign. The larger issue is GM. Ideally we should fire Fitterer ASAP and use the rest of the season to find his replacement, then get his input on who the next coach should be. Generally speaking it's actually harder to find a quality GM than a quality HC.
  13. I think a lot of it has to do with the lack of NFL-ready OL coming into the league. We're not the only team having OL issues at all; I'd say half the league suffers from sub-par OL play on a regular basis.
  14. This article isn't wrong, but firing Reich wouldn't be either. Good owners know when to get involved and when to step back. Tepper needs to fire Reich and Fitterer, hire a firm to conduct a search for their replacements and then get the hell out of the way.
  15. This is what we need to do a GoFundMe for to put on a billboard as close as possible to BoA Stadium.
  16. I don't know, at this rate the whole 2023 team will still be on I.R. by then.
  17. So is it a torn ACL or something else?
  18. Huh? Corbett signed his deal in free agency.
  19. I'm kind of surprised the numbers project to look even that good.
  20. I'd be happy with Kellen Moore, Bobby Slowick, Ben Johnson, or Wes Phillips. Tepper had the right idea wanting to hire an offensive coach, he just picked the worst one imaginable.
  21. I fully expect him to get the Washington job once Rivera is fired, unfortunately.
