Before I stopped getting the paper, once a year they would list the top HS players on a whole page. I want to say 2014-ish and my god they have grown. Nearly all OL and DL were 320+ and looked it as well. The QBs were 6'5 220+, just insane the jump form my days when once one player on the team was 320+ and the whole divsion may have had 10 total. HGH and god knows what else...... for some is just getting 3 square meals and BOOM.

Did you come form the scout forum? I know youve been on the huddle for years. Old LG was on the scout forum as I member. Once he got mod here(long wait) hes had to take some abuse and thus became the current LG. Hes always been petty good for football talk, hates being wrong like many others, and has the worst QB takes in the history of mankind.

Its a good debate for this dead part of the "off-season". If you mixed prime jake with 2020 baker= favre. Skills-wise not even you would take jakes side(tho jake did win a pro-bowl QB challenge). Sac-wise and leadership all other descriptions moxic old jake alllllll day. If everything works out and baker resigns here longterm, it would take what 5-6 years before Jake is looking up to baker. My statement sorta shows the lack of QB talent thats came and played here....Give another 2-3 and baker would knock cam off nearly everything besides rushing TDs as well. Steve had one hell of a year before it became a pass-happy league too. Off-field bs aside collins was a solid option given the expansion deal too.

Hes maybe the 2nd best QB in franchise history. I will say this too- I forget the podcast/youtube, but a reporter that followed Baker since OU called BS on teammates hating him. The HC is known from other coaching stops to be a hardass that plays minded games. So its a clean slate for me, its on Baker to keep it that way

Other hits on this and other Sam threads- it's a money deal. Doesnt matter if he takes a Baker type pay cut, its still 16+ mill The whole NFL had Sam thought of as enigma/potential when he was a Jet. That 2021 season removed ALL the hope and his value tanked faster than Jimmy Biden. Best is to hold a real open QB battle and if a rash of QB injuries hit, listen to the best offers and go from there....Just like the Baker deal- HOOOOOLLLLLLLLDDDDD.

It's much needed......I cannot believe trading for Baker put a halt to the constant crying crew. It's ok zob, with alittle luck this team can challenge for a late season playoff spot. No matter the god dam head coach or whichever young QB wins the job. Special teams, defensive, and rebuilt OL along with new NFL coaches......it's possible. Add in a fullly healthy CMC, Moore, and a breakout Chinn&burns year....who knows then, playoffs could just be the start of a new cardiac cats!!!

Good chance to be the best in history and one of the best overall. Chinn can and should breakout. Horn plays like a 5th year all-pro, just to see if hes over the injury. Henderson has everything you want in a DB/CB. Djack gets better each year and that can continue this yr. Woods can bring this all together via communication/pride/footballIQ

No clue, mr11s hate boner is petty impressive. Not a baker fan, but his 2020 season should have gotten a few MVP votes and its better than any of Darnolds/carrol/walker ever had. He ended the longest playoff drought in recent history. Broke the NFL rookie TD record. Plays injured/hurt. Talent is there and was a #1 overall. Yea hes got a few douchey issues and some teammates hate him. New town, new teammates, new staff, older, could solve some. No matter what he improves the teams talent and gives them another option at QB for the now and maybe future. Plus the cost is ultra cheap given the market.

Do you have a few hours? I know its wasting my time if I made a case for Baker, you crystal clear hate the guy. Im not a fan either, but hes a panther and until the playoffs are mathematically out. I want to win, even with Baker.

I know the futures deal is very cloudy, not going to say its rainbows and full of cap space. Cuts, Burns, QB, insane high numbers for "good" players are coming. Worry about that after the season, lots can happen to change all the outcomes for the off-season. If panthers find a true franchise QB all those issues will be minor. Baker is another attempt to do that.

So are there new rules this season that prevent the panthers form re-signing Baker long-term after the season? They also have his rights via tagging as well. The one year is a blessing given it could go off rails too. Perfect type of risk for the panthers to take. The point of it all is too improve team talent and with this trade the QB room has improved.

Brother you dont know what the future holds and the super bowl or pointless is pathetic too. In a era were starting QB are getting 40+ million, panthers may have found one thats on a one year try out for 4.85. Thats great if youre a panther fan, off-field stuff aside. panthers can tag and keep him or tag and trade him if he gos off as well. Panthers have been sucking at QB moves, but this is a legit win. Sorry your Baker hatred will not let you see the bright side of this.

Browns got a open roster spot. Week 1 its Cam vs Baker battle of 1st vs former teams. Brown may need a QB given Watson and I do think Cam >> Brissett It would be the #1 NFL topic leading into week one. Cam makes the Browns better and is used to poor WRs. Memes aside, it makes too much sense..
