I think Dan and the team have turned the page. Personally Id love to see him back on some vet type of deal. The deal is Panthers have his medical files, I do not.

I think it was Blaine Gabbert over Cam, Bortles was a different class. Many had Locker and Gabbert over Cam. I can imagine meeting Cam and then putting Gabbert or Locker or any QB from that class above him.

BREAKING: Panthers claim CB M.J. Devonshire off Waiver Wire
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I disagree with the "had" part. Horn, Jackson, and CSW- That's a good group. They cut the vet NB troy hill cause CSW was ready to take over. Im not going to defend Horns injury history, just he played in 15-16 games and Jackson played every defense snap. Then you got Akayleb Evans, who started 16 games in 2023. Shemar Bartholomew the guy who 6 teams tried to claim and stayed on the roster for the entire year. He's not scared to tackle. Both of these guys are long and tall. Barth started for horn, I thought he did good enough. They just gave a 100,000 guarantee to UDFA CB Evans, so keep a eye on him. CB along LB, always seem to get talented names cut. There's still time and ways to improve the depth. Just need to remain healthy..... -
D. Morgan on T-Mac: “I made the decision pretty early [January]

Im glad you were here, cause I didn't want to take on that task!! You did a better job than I would have, I dropped in when needed with some kill shots. -
I swear I just spend 10 minutes driving into videos, ESPN has scrubbed that on air Mel retirement rant about Jimmy Clausen. What a joke..... so is Mel and ANY other humans that constantly lie and just away with it...
-
I normally overrate the UDFA group, but not this season. I don't see any of them making the 53(but bas look at your 53..), Id even say half don't make the PS.... Brandt/Dan need to be ready for any LBs and Safety that get cut... Luck for them those two groups do reach the wavier the most.
-
Have people forgot his Clausen rant??? Including himself?? I get its been perfectly fine to lie over the years without judgement. "In 2010, Mel Kiper Jr. stated that he would retire if Jimmy Clausen didn't become a successful NFL quarterback within eight years." So mel gets to stay on for SEVEN years after the fact, the deal is Clausen was out of the league in 2015.......Mel stays on after stating on TV he'd retire if teh jimmy wasn't successful, then calls out the NFL for not being able to draft QBs?? I swear some people are allowed to get away with BS.....

This is where I am at, before I see what they show on the field. 5-9 wins The main deal and difference is Coaches right now. The talent is on the low end, * but its enough for them to compete. Evero this is your time and guess what Mr. former #1 overall, its time for you too. The saving grace is this piss poor NFC south. The fuging Yucs have won 4 str with 9-10 win season type of plays, feasting on this weak 6 game schedule. With some Luck panther *could* win 9 or 10 and steal a playoff game too. The truth is this is the 2nd year(really 1.5) into full 3 year rebuild. *After 2026 the cap should be fixed and the team shhhhoooould have some talent, young talent. Many will be in their prime years- dbrown, horn, hunt, BY, lewis, icky, moehrig etc. Then XL, brooks(pray), Wallace, sanders, 2025&2026 draft class will fill in the remaining spots.

I thought you could not exceed 90 unless there was a "foreign" player(which they all already signed). Im already practicing my 'WTFs" for cutting no names players I already put in the Panthers ring of honor... Honestly I look over the roster and only came up with 3 names Id say cut for the excess UDFA group. Im upset for the others....

all the real ones understand.. _____________________________________________________________- I did hear a different view point that made me change my "just a prank call". Kids work extremly hard their whole life for that on call, be like getting a prank call after being on a organ transplant waiting list. The call is the most important part of many of their life's. You won the lotto, YEP, life changing money......nevermind jk bro....lollololollolz.. Im getting old...

Could buy a John kasay jersey and take it to the alley backstreet off mint street.....

Round 5, Pick 27 (#163) - Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame
Basbear replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Off my memory panthers ran over 63% 2 TEs last year. I dont know if the targets will be there, but he seemed to favor 2 TE sets. That could change this season with more 3 WRs looks, just like the defense I dont know what will be on the field this season. I know they tied the hardest to carry 4 TEs each week, but lots of injuries hit. Matthews ran out of call-ups early. I think he was cut and resigned week one. After some thinking and huffin draft hope, Evans looks like a tremble&sanders combo. I think players will have to show the coaches/Dave they need targets or Carrys, almost force them to be included. Unwise feed Chubba and look for AT on 3rd down..... -
Round 5, Pick 27 (#163) - Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame
Basbear replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
My guess there will be games in which Panthers run the ball 38 times and next week 16 times. Just win, whatever it takes... -
Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8

watchout when Tmac unleashes potential, he can put up better numbers in the NFL than college. -
RUMOR: Panthers interested in CB Rasul Douglas
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
This dude just makes plays for 4 straight years and can not find a home. imo he was dawg here, saved green bay and bills seasons form getting ugly. Just after he balls out, the team just don not want him. He should have never left the Panthers, he saved the Panthers after the apple didn't play while hurt. I'd pass, unless jc horn is already hurt..... -
