What 2nd year Player are you most excited about?
Basbear replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Brother, I quit taking the ian thomas hopuim and switched to Tremble hopuim.... Mccadoo may run a 2 TE base, we will see. Think about the help the QB could get if Tremble takes a big step forward....That maybe the key to turn this O into the dangerous type(well CMC health..) rather than average. -
The biggest shock to me is Greg Hardy and Jon Beason were in the red.....I would have bet a good sum hardy was in the green/freak part. I like high RAS guys 4-7, I also like taking a shot on a stud SEC OG like DBrown who was a 1.87...... he started at Bama and didnt allow any defender to touch the QB in something like 500 snaps. The later the draft gos, the more risk I want to take. That can come from high RAS and low stats or high stats low RAS.

The Athletic NFL @TheAthleticNFL Commanders rookie QB Sam Howell says he only eats chicken. He's never tried a burger or a steak and won't eat seafood. He orders chicken tenders at steakhouses and brings his own tenders to team dinners.

Tarik Cohen - Letters to my Younger Self
Basbear replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's a common theme- fatherless boys raised by mothers/grandmothers. Endless cycle, so sad. A young boy learns sooo much from their father. Why doesnt someone down the family tree branch end the blackhole-like cycle?? Both the males and females have the choice/power. -

Do you remember Emmit Smith?? -
reply to cookin, but same deal. I thought pickett would still been there for their 2nd. He played on the same field as they practice on. Two doors are right next to one another. I honestly forgot about Penning, loved him as a trade down target and thought it was a solid pick. Dallas has drafted as well as any team other the last 8 or so years. They didnt value QB pool, I doubt the ranking are the way you say. You rank the player, you dont pass on scouting DTs if you already have 2 studs. Give them a ranking and pass on them if you have a close player of need. QBs were all over. I said 3 months ago, I wouldnt draft ANY QB before 45.

Liking the Mosby profile. Tolson&wright looking good too. thanks juan.

It will be the best class since Norewell landed. One LB should make it, maybe one WR, and Babicz just has to beat out Colin Thompson. Plus 5-7 should make the PS as well.

On-field= Ray If you include off-field= Luke Pass coverage only= Brian Ray also went through a weird preacher faze. Ray was RIGHT next to luke in football IQ and watched just as much film. Loved football more than the other two. Much hard hitter and ended other players careers. Peyton said he had to change the throws they installed because Ray would IR the TE/WRs. Goat Bill spoke in the highest regard. No wrong answer tho.

Shocked panthers are 2nd. I know the never-rhulers dont want to believe, but when he got here, 40-50 million was waiting year one. The same 50 million was there in year 2, some of it was his doing, but it was mainly Herniaymagic. Now Finessererere is doing the same dumb stuff about pushing the effect to later years. Shaq/robbie/motown will be around 25 million in cap bucks, thats cut zone, not healthy.

2021 Carolina Panther's draft picks
Basbear replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just like the long armed stuff, I agree with Rhule about focusing high RAS players, especially in the 4-7 rounds. Gimme the lean clay block that can touch the moon. Id take the risk for one of them over some guy that doesnt. The league keeps getting less and less contact, speed wins. I said the Baylor memes plenty, but if you look at Baylor players combine/pro-day. VERRRRYYYYY under-rated freak-shows. Most of them are high RAS speed demons. Not just this year, NYjets picks Mims who was injured but put up insane numbers. Each year since Rhule leftd, low-key Baylor had their players more than ready for putting up top 1% numbers in their group. -
2021 Carolina Panther's draft picks
Basbear replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just to let you know- Jags included a 5th in the CJ deal- panthers used that to trade up for Bsmith freakshow at LB a spot where he could start faster than we know. Wilkis is here and known around all foozeball to be a great DB coach. If CJ can not figured it out with Wilkis, he may want to think about not getting the NFL checks/frame. The pressure on him should be very low(well at least in his terms). I think JC horn is a great role model for CJ as well, maybe that will aid as well. No take on Darnold, hated it then and """. You know about trading future picks. Future 4th is worth a now 3rd etc....Panthers seemed to want to keep the 2021 ones, so in order to land Sammy, they had to deal future ones and finished with 5 wins. It wouldnt hurt if Sam was good enough for 9 wins in that 2021 seasons, picks-wise. -
I wanted to stay put and draft Eichenberg. Welllllllll short story- dolpins were the only team with a worse OL than panthers. Eichenberg was drafted by the phins and started some.....not at LT like I wanted....he played LG and else where... he rated lower than Johnny Miller.... Once I seen the trade back hauls, like in the 5th...I understood and agreed. Just took a day or so, I was not use to that strategy.

Yea panther Dave > Herniay NYG&panther Dave <<< Herniay Ruin them and had no success in a weak division. Panthers got awful old right after Dave got fired.....thats partly on him(tho he wanted to get rid of TD and olsen and that was right, 100% as it pains). NYG are just in awful shape and no reason for that to be. Again they had decent/good cap space and the best draft capital in the league. He failed both and left them without talent, no QB, and in the bloodly red. His WR choices should got him kicked out of USA.... Picked the wrong hawg hollies- had the choice pick of LTs and thus far picked the worse one(4th overall btw). Im enjoying both Finssserererers drafts and one of his FA hauls. Love how modern and aggressive he is. Dave and Herniay refused to do busniess with certain teams/GM....not the same the new guy.

2021 Carolina Panther's draft picks
Basbear replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ive been very vocal about my feels for the 2021 class. The dirty deal is this- just takes two starters and one top back-up/ST ace for a GREAT draft. Sad, but its real. Another tid-bit the biggest improvement in ones NFL career mainly come form year one to two. So this coming OTAs, mini, and training camp is huge(coofus setback all of this). Still feel this will go down as the one of the best in panthers history. Horn- dream player. He came in ready and had a freak injury. He attacked that as well. No worries and thats super rare with all these players TMJ- another brady mistake.....I still got hopes he will re-write some of the panthers WR records. Christ- Like Horn high RAS, at worst he ends up as a super sub. Tremble- Looking forward to see how he attack the off-season. mccadoo likes 2 TEs sets and that would have him on field. Hubbard- Maybe a better fit given the OL coach Campy. I got no issues with him being a 2-3 type of HB. Nixon- torn a ACL and had some flashes. He could be the 3# DT for the upcoming season Taylor- started some and looked like a 1st rounder. DAWG and had some rookie snaps too. Looked great for a 5th rounder Brown- I still got hope for him, even to say hes a darkhorse for starting RG this year. Another player that benefits from new staff-campy&mccadoo Smith- got the tools and each practices made a highlight play. Screwed up and eyes are on him. LS- wasted pick. had the same "trade for sam darnorld" hate for this. Never spend picks on ST unless you have a 2nd round graded kicker in the 7th Hoskins- replaced Nixon and showed the same flashes. For a 7th its a bonus if youre able to get 15-20 NFL snaps out of them. He gave me the impression thats a role he can fill. Again I see more than 2.5 starters and that = A insanely good draft. Big year coming... -
Look I have huge doubts about the panthers moving. Now if you want to break the tin foil hats- overseas is in play. I know the NFL wants to go gobal, as do all large companies. The smartest way is for 3-4 teams to do so at the same time. That way one team can visit the UK and play 3 games in 2.5-3 weeks. You can offer more money to the players and have a huge practice squad for all 3-4 teams as well. Jags have been trying for years, add in the cat bro panthers, and maybe another team like buffalo(who is having trouble with new diggs currently).

With how it ended, Im too honest- Gettleman was worse than Herniay. No idea what happen, but he over-spent and drafted very poorly while giants GM. During his giant era, no team had better draft value in terms of picks. He wasted them on #2Barkley, #6Jones, #30Baker, and #33Hernandez. Just the whole group is awful, some even traded before bustin. First rounder Baker was cut year two, he traded(i think) a second to move up for him. Even talks of trading last years first rounder koney...... Even his 2-4 round picks were terrible. His free agent signing are the same or worse. They are in cap hell too. Thats bad whens theres no talent.....At least herniay yo-yo'd win seasons loss seasons, nyc dave was just a loser and that division was begging to be won.

I seen that, just dont buy that was the real board....it was too obvious(dead in the middle tv frame). Ravens always have a top 5 draft too, just not in their nature to screw up. All teams have a look and the main deal is if a camera is in the room the board is another room. No exceptions.

it was 12 plays(i think) where they 1 vs 1, still dont know what the role/job was for each play. I thought it was a clear win(overall) for jj. I thought it was the best film for Ickey, cause it wasnt the pancake highlight vs weaker/lighter teams/players. The thing i heard about Ickey is, he already knows what&how he struggled on. Coaches are not use to that behavior. Long run he may end up better than my guy Neal. I do think there will be some rough games early on and hope his health stays up, come year 2 he will be the best OLman on the roster. I just came up with this too- I think cobert needs to be the LG with Ickey as LT one day. Boz at C, __________/open RG, and Motown RT. I wanted to put Chirst at LG, but thats just too young of a Left side. If possible move the Vet Cobert to LG and he can hold his hand. Let Boz vs ELf for Center duties. RG is wide open, with my hope/dream that brown wins...

I also think jj won, but its a good watch.(if you dont mind some negative fluff)
