I don’t believe you can “ruin” the great ones. Burrow for example was abused his rookie year, even got injured. The great ones are able to get better still. Players like David Carr who were “ruined” by their teams were probably never going to be great regardless. Stroud wouldn’t have looked as good here as he does in Houston but he would look a good bit better than what we have IMO.

Sanders is the same height as Mahomes and only 9 pounds lighter. His weight and size are in line and he operates well from the pocket. He doesn’t have a cannon but his arm is solid. He looks to be the most NFL ready, but people were also saying that about Young so who knows….

Is he a true freshman?

He is flying under the radar. @MHS831 mentioned him a couple weeks ago. I’ve been paying attention sense.

Jonathan Jones: Good chance Clowney and Thielen are traded
ForJimmy replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Man our defense without Clowney is going to be something….. -
It’s clear by a sample size of one in Bryce? Lol not buying it. The only young QB he has worked with is Bryce for half a season while he is also trying to be a HC for the first time. Maybe Bryce is just not cut out to be a starting QB, especially one on a limited roster like ours.

They have to have a 5 star behind him…
-
Winston with all his sexual assault charges? I don’t know about him being a good person…
-
I want him playing center more to see if he can be our future there. I don’t think he will cost much to extend. Unfortunately he has to play LT Sunday with Mayes at C.
-
Sanders has had 4 TD games without his top 3 WRs? I’m a little lot skeptical…
-
It’s ok to like both. Ward playing great doesn’t make Sanders worse.
-
Yeah it makes it difficult to get a good read on Ward. He plays a lot of hero ball, but he has to. Kind of like Howell at UNC.

Honestly Allar’s situation reminds me of Herbert’s at Oregon. His college offense limits him and doesn’t truly show his abilities at the next level. He also isn’t working with that much looking at his weapons. He is definitely a player that could be a better pro than he was in college IMO.

Agree with most of this, but I think he actually has a pretty good OL at Miami or they just haven’t played many tough defense. He usually has time. I like that he has all the traits you want physically, can make every throw, can buy time with his legs, has started a lot of games for 3 different programs already, but most importantly he looks like a leader in his offense. He rallies his teammates and has had several large comebacks already. Players like that at premium positions are how you change culture IMO. He looks like he is doing just that at Miami.

With the first pick, don't draft a QB? Draft a DE? C'mon!

I feel like they struggled to win a playoff game… They also weren’t picking 1 when they passed on these QBs. If so they would have passed on Cam Newton in that Gabbert draft. If we some how don’t end up with the top pick then that changes everything IMO. -

Arizona should have more than enough talent vs NAU to prevent their star WR from being triple teamed every play. He is a very good WR with measurables you can’t coach. I’m not taking anything from him I just don’t think he is one you take with pick 1. QBs get mocked above their grades because they are one of the most important positions in all of sports. WRs can get taken out of games, but a great QB can’t. If Hunter goes in the top 5, they are using him as an offensive weapon while maybe playing him in some prevent packages if any at all. He is a playmaker that has great ball skills and is explosive with the ball in his hands. I’ve seen a lot of mocks having the Pats take him at pick 1 or 2 as a weapon for Maye. -

So these experts you are obsessed with have Hunter going over TMac in a lot of these mock drafts. Hell most have Sanders, Ward, AND Hunter going over him. So if we are letting the same talking heads do all the work that ranked Young as QB1 in the same class as Stroud then you go ahead and do that while also realizing they are projecting QBs and Hunter to go over TMac. So if you are wanting us to listen to these "experts" again we probably go QB at 1... I get you like him him as a fan and he is a great prospect. Honestly if we trade down I'd be for it or possibly Carter at Edge. https://www.si.com/college/arizona/news/will-arizona-wildcats-wr-tetairoa-mcmillan-be-an-impact-nfl-player-right-away "However, he was shutdown by a great defensive scheme by the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in Week 2. The star wide receiver only totaled two receptions for 11 yards in the narrow win." Looks like that writer thinks the Lumberjacks shut him down.... -

Yeah TMac has a third of his yards and 4 out of 5 of his TDs in one game against UNM. He went 6 games in a row (half a season) without getting a score... If you are the top WR you have to show up against top competition, yeah I know it's his offense, but he had the same QB last year. Looks like Utah and Colorado shut him down. NAU was a horrible game, but I'd have to assume he didn't play that whole game going 2 for 11 yards. Hunter has 5 of his 8 games with over 100 yards receiving (while playing defense) and 8 TDs to TMac's 5. If I had to pick one to pick with pick 1 it's probably Hunter. I'm not hating on TMac either, he is a top of the draft 1st rounder too. He just isn't pick 1 material and might not be WR1. I also really doubt he would go before Nabers, but that is just a difference of opinion. Also if we aren't getting a QB with pick 1 we are probably going defense... -

TMac is good, but he isn't pick 1 on a WR good. Last year he would be below Nabers and Williams. This year you could argue Hunter is the better WR. WR at 1 better be a Calvin Johnson not a WR that disappears some games in college... -
Bryce is starter Sunday per Canales presser

Damn is the line still 7 points??? -
I’m with @Bear Hands on this. Allar will take his NIL money and stay another year to improve his draft stock.
-
We missed on Stroud. It sucks, but we can’t pretend like he isn’t one of the better young QBs in this league. If we had him we would be in much better shape. What are they 6-3 with injuries to the OL, Nico, and Diggs? I’d take that in a minute.

So you are just going by what these analysts are saying. So if come draft time they say Ward/Sanders is worth pick 1 you should be good. The future draft QB class is always going to be projected as the next great thing until these young players start playing the game and scouts can see some flaws. Think of all of the high school phenoms that didn’t look as good in college. If Manning does turn out to be the next great prospect only one team gets to draft him. Odds are someone else could get the top pick, especially if go all in on building a supporting roster. I’m never going to be a just wait another year guy, because there are so many variables. If our staff loves Ward/Sanders then we should just draft them with our pick. It’s as simple as that. I also might go with Hunter over TMac as WR1 in this class. The roster has the OL to help a young QB, young weapons in Coker, XL, and JT to grow with a QB, and a RB who can catch in Brooks as a safety net for a young QB. Sign a vet WR, extend BC and our offense would be set outside of depth. Let our young offensive core go through their growing pains while we iron out the defense. It’s definitely a path forward. -

Who is in this loaded 26 class? Nico has been struggling? Manning was promising but can’t kept Ewers on the bench like Caleb did to Rattler. Who am I missing?
