That plus he is just a better version of Thielen. A slot possession WR who is good at finding holes in the defense. Kupp just plays for one of the best offensive minds in the game. Oh and we have his former assistant (Thomas Brown) but refuse to let him call plays....

If it’s a wash year spent developing Young it’s not a bad idea to trade Burns if you can get good value for him. Luvu should be much cheaper to keep them you can pay a WR like Higgins the contract he wants and also extend Brown (who I think is the most important person on defense). It’s not a terrible idea and someone will overpay for Burns.

He had a QB hit outside of that I didn’t hear his name that much.

Per Matt Miller.. Panthers all in on Richardson?

It's very early but he is flashing with a defensive HC, terrible OL, and not many weapons. It will be interesting to see where they all finish. -

Super Charged Cam that can't finish a game. Has he put up 400 passing yards like Cam did his first week? Hell the Colts offense didn't look much worse with Minshew who I think is underrated. Here is my concern with AR. He has injuries in college with is why they limited him running halfway through the season and he has already had an injured knee and concussion through week 2. I don't know if he can handle 15 more games of trying to run through NFL defenders with a weakened knee and previous concussion. Now the Colts look to have a good HC, but again it's still way to early to make any kind of judgement. If we are going by week 2 the Bengals should cut Burrow and Sean Peyton can win a game as a HC. We both know these things aren't true. -

I don't think so, but Stroud is looking tempting though it's still very early. I also had a draft crush on Stroud so I am a little bias here. -

He hasn't finished an actual game yet. Hopefully he can stay healthy but a bruised knee, plus a concussion this early combined with his style of play is a little concerning. -
It wasn't all "prevent defense" anyway. They switched to cover 2 when we got in the redzone and Young still delivered. We were a pretty close onside kick away being down by just a FG. The 2 point conversion was also regular defense.

You don't draft another first round QB unless Young completely implodes through week 17. If we get a 1st round pick it will be used to get Bryce a weapon or try to replace Burns. You shouldn't waste valuable assets like a 1st rounder on a "just in case" situation. A flier on a late round QB that you can develop into your backup/potential starter makes more sense.

That's probably his overall rating including week 1.

Sounds great! But more importantly have a great trip in Italy!!

It looked like our DC started putting CJ on the 3rd option for some plays when he started struggling. I saw Hill and DJax on Thomas in the 2nd half.
-
You were all in on Bryce for the draft. Let's see how he progresses before we try drafting his replacement.

Honestly I didn't see an alarming amount of pressure. Having 2 new OGs probably caused more issues than anything and PFF is aligning with that. We couldn't run down the middle at all. No push...

How are we not in last in total yardage? What poor 4 franchises have less than us??

Scott Fitterer Set Us Back A Decade w/ Two Trades
ForJimmy replied to App Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
So any of them that worked out don't count? When looking at first round picks we gave up next year's first and DJ Moore (who I could as a first) there were a couple 2nds (one a distant future one in 25 and one late one we got from the Niners in the CMC trade). There just aren't many cases when teams gave up a lot to move to 1 because usually that pick isn't for sale. Too small of a sample size to make a good judgement. -

https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2021/story/_/id/31173355/all-29-s-nfl-teams-traded-draft-quarterback Here they all are. Watson, Allen, Mahomes, Flacco, Goff, Jackson lead the way with plenty of blunders as well (Darnold being one of them). Most of them are for smaller compensation, but there just aren't many examples of giving up a lot to move to pick number 1. Usually pick 1 isn't for sale which is what made this year so unique. -
Derrick Brown going after Mike Thomas after the game
ForJimmy replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly Hill played with some fire, Chinn, Djax, our safeties are pretty solid too. -
The screen pass to Thielen needs to be completely removed from our offense. Sprinkle some of that to Shenault like you are saying and I'm good with it. Forcing Sanders up the middle into the strength of their defense with 2 backup OGs wasn't a very good call either. I feel like those 2 plays were 50% of our offensive calls.

Good things happen when you throw it deep. Chark was definitely unable to complete his route due to the Saints CB grabbing him and directing him out of bounds way past 5 yards deep. Chark sold it well too. It probably wasn't catchable, but he wasn't able to jump and make an attempt to see if it was.

Panthers' Offense: Some Core Concerns Surfacing Early
ForJimmy replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah the Olave highlight catch is what changed the whole game. It was pretty even before that. On a side note thanks for your usual rational responses and critiques. It was a very frustrating game to watch and I'm sure there was a bunch I missed.
