Yeah if they know they are taking the ball and just falling forward the snap shouldn't be too bad. QBs get caught trying to read the defense while taking the snap which can be difficult. Anther idea is Young gets a piggyback ride on Bozeman for the yard!
-
I assume it's implied that a majority of them thought Young was the guy, did a deep dive and confirmed he was their top choice. I am sure there were some who liked other prospects. McCown seemed high on Stroud and there were reports about some being high on AR.
-
Why can't the RB go under center for the play?
-
Wouldn't Cam be on Icky or Moton?
-
I mean if we really want to run it just have our RB move up and direct snap it. It's not like teams don't know it's coming.
-
I think our QB coach also really wanted Stroud. That doesn't always mean that's the player our GM/HC agree on.
-
Makes a lot of sense. Who knows where we are picking next year and if the picks for Williams or Maye will even be for sale? If it's a team that needs a QB picking 1 and Williams declares they are not trading that pick.
-
Williams without a doubt, Maye wouldn't have enough film IMO to tell for sure. If Sanders declares he might be a top pick as well. Williams' father already said he might stay another year if needed which means if it's a terribly ran franchise like the Cards he might just stay at USC and collect more NIL money.
-
I get that and I think (not 100%) you were one of the many people saying wait until next year with Stroud, Young, AR, Levis, we thought Penix and McCall would declare as well. Well we did wait until the following year.
-
Agreed. Head coaches and GMs don't like playing the constant game of wait until next year. I'm sure it's one of the reasons Fitt rejected that loaded Rams trade for Burns. He might not have enough years to even use those picks.
-
Yeah at this time during the season people were looking at those 3 QBs. Pickett had a breakout season. A majority of the media had Willis as a first round pick (it was a bad miss and embarrassing as he showed up to the draft). Hell before the season started people thought Rattler and Howell would be the top 2 picks.

Prime was the original quote. It was just brought up about Stroud because his father was absent through part of his life. https://www.outkick.com/deion-sanders-quarterbacks-mother-father-single-parents-shedeur/#:~:text=Sanders appeared with Rich Eisen,he's got to be smart.&text=“[He can't make, bad decisions off the field.

That's assuming one falls to our pick in 24. If there is a prospect we want we would have to trade up for him more thank likely. That leaves 2 years left of Moore's contract 1 of which would be on our QB's rookie year. Not to mention Corbet would have to be replaced in 24 as well. Our OL is seasoned (well it was before injuries) and our defense has some young talent. It's a decent time to add a QB to develop.

People were looking at Willis, Howell, and Corral and they were told wait until next year. Next year's class looks loaded! Stroud, Young, AR, (Van Dyke was named but disappointed) etc....
-
People were questioning him growing up without a father and how that makes a bad QB. It was terrible.
-
If he has shown he can create a great offense, win games, and develop a young QB teams will overlook off the field past issues. I'm not saying that's a good thing, but it's the truth.
-
I mean he slipped to the 5th round. A lot of teams passed on him and the team than waited until round 5 to draft him undervalued him as well.
-
I'm pretty sure Young was the top QB on most draft boards. It's really not surprising he is the one we went with and I was originally in favor of Stroud.
-
Imagine being the team with the top pick and having a chance to get Williams (who is getting compared to Mahomes) and pairing him with a HC that helped develop Mahomes. Again I'm not sure anyone should try to draft "the next Mahomes" because the things he does shouldn't be done in the NFL, but some franchise is going to be all over that opportunity.
-
That's the whole point of him getting out from under Andy Reid. That was always the excuse. "It's just Reid's offense." Well if he gets the Commanders offense playing great with a 5th round 2nd year QB then yeah he has a high chance of getting a HC job.
-
I swear this conversation happens every year. I'm not saying it's not the case, but there is a lot of football left and who knows who returns and who doesn't . The class with Lance, Fields, Mac, Mond, and Lawrence doesn't look nearly as strong as anticipated and this past class was suppose to be the next big one but now it's next year's class. This narrative will always happen to get people excited about college football and interested in the draft.

He kept it classy the whole time too. I love the whole I'm not a test taker, I'm a QB comment. He just kept it real.
-
I wouldn't be so quick to call Baker great. He is an average QB who can be streaky. He was very hot and cold in Cleveland and has played two terrible defenses so far this year. Don't get me wrong he is much better than he looked here and I thought he would be solid for us, but Rhule was too terrible of a HC to get a good look. If Bryce is the guy he will flash enough in Carolina for us to continue his development. Teams are a lot more patient with number 1 overall drafted QBs than they would be with journeymen vets and rightfully so.
-
They better get rid of Ron because Bieniemy will get a HC job somewhere if this continues.
-
He seems to have a good attitude and stays humble too. Similar to Young.
