There are prospects that have been as close to locks to go number 1 as possible. Andrew Luck and Trevor Lawrence most recently. I know what you are saying though Arizona could fall in love with another player like Sanders or Williams could get a nasty injury, however odds are Williams is that top pick and teams are already tanking for him. He was great his freshman year and top of the league his sophomore year. So far there hasn't been a drop-off and it would be surprising if there was one considering his offense. *His dad is already hinting at him possibly staying another year if needed. So this could definitely prevent him from going number 1.

You don’t trust a player’s release time? Their rating under pressure? Even 40 time/catch radius can be considered a statistic. It’s too broad of a category to completely ignore. Picking only on upside can be more dangerous than only on stats. It’s take a combination of info IMO. For example if a players leads the NCAA in sacks and plays in a tough division I’m definitely looking at that player. Game is the most important though IMO.

It's too broad of a category to ignore. Like I said rating under pressure, catchable ball %, completion %, release time the list can go on and on. It's definitely something they look at plus game tape (most important to me) and ceiling all get thrown in there. There are definitely misleading stats (Zappe comes to mind) when it's lesser competition or different offenses (Corral) can make them appear better so it's only a portion of the tape, but the top picks for QBs generally have great stats to back their tapes unless it's purely a potential picks (AR and Allen).

That’s why I said to a degree. If a player throws up elite stats against strong competition, they are getting some attention. QB rating under pressure is a nice one they look at as well.

Some positive and critical thoughts on yesterdays game

Yeah people like to overexaggerate to try to make their point stand out. It's really a lot of nonsense. Guess what? I can predict my favorite team to win every game AND be aware we have a rookie QB who will need some time. It's not like we are putting money on these predictions as it's just a message board for fans. The doom and gloom fans that come back on here to mock fans for being excited about their team always confuse me. If someone wants to be optimistic about a sport they watch for fun who cares?? -
Bersin. Is Mike Evans available?

This really JC Horn's burner Twitter account though?

I mean unless it’s confirmed to be him this isn’t a real big story to me. Way too many possibilities. -

Nah that’s Matt Rhule. -
The NFL cares about stats to a degree, it's why players like Mac Jones and Pickett go in the first round, they had record breaking stats against elite competition. However Caleb's play is top of the league as well. He had the top rating (78.9) under pressure in FBS and overall rating (116) was also the top and these are stats they care about. He is holding on to the ball longer because he can sit back there and let longer players develop. Unless something crazy happens he is the top pick. I've already heard analyst/talking heads come up with tanking phrases like "Recalibrating for Caleb." You will read "the closest thing to Mahomes" a lot too which I'm not sure that is a good thing. How he translate is anyone's guess, but he is currently to be the next Luck/Lawrence so far. Like I've already said this is year 3 of elite play and last year he was the best in the NCAA.
-
He didn't win Heisman and didn't start off that hot his next year. He was benched because Caleb looked so promising as a true freshman. I really don't think they are comparable. Caleb threw 42 TDs to 5 INTS last season looks lke Ratter highest was 28 TDs and 7 INTS. Rattler was projected to make another leap in development, but never did as Caleb is already there. The Cardinals are legit tanking for Caleb. This will be his 3rd year of elite play so I would put him more in the Lawrence/Luck category than Rattler.
-
He is as close to a lock as I have seen this early in the season. He would have been number 1 last year and has cemented that status so far this season. I don't see a drop off for him in Riley's offense.
-
Can't predict trade ups. Especially for QBs.
-
I saw a couple plays where he was TRIPLE teamed. We need to lock him in long term before the market goes up. That Titans Simmons deal is looking like a great contract right now. Maybe we can slightly overpay for Burns and underpay for Brown?
-
Different game
-
He is currently projected to get points in fantasy for whatever that’s work.
-
It's because he is an asshole.
-
I heard we traded for the top pick! Who are we drafting?
-
So we are down our 2 starting OGs plus our top CB and it’s only week 2.
-
Corbett won’t be available until week 5. BC is also our LT/RT insurance.
-
Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow are all 0-1. Freaking out over week 1 is premature to say the least. We should get better as the season progresses, you know like our GM said before the season started.
-
He left yesterday's game with a knee injury. I doubt he can make it 16 more games with that same playing style. I bet they are going to start holding off on some of those designed QB runs.
-
The better protect him if they want him to last. He looked like crap behind that OL this past week.
-
Yeah 25 pressures in a game will do that. I mean Burrow looked worse with less pressures (still had a lot) and better weapons. That internal clock going off early is a real thing.
