  1. Nope. A majority of fans just want to win and until Corral is ready, Baker is more than likely our best shot at that.
  2. I’d say that’s because his off the field issues are the narrative by these journalists. Everyone saw he is a capable QB, but no one saw what happened behind the scenes. Some people that played with him (Corbet), or coached him (Kitchens) feel a need to defend him.
  3. Better roster and a better coaching staff should result in more enjoyable games to watch.
  4. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2022/07/08/panthers-g-austin-corbett-baker-mayfield-trade/ Corbet who actually played with Baker seems pretty excited. He was praising Baker before we even traded for him. No unnamed source or speculating analysts, but an actual named first hand source that played right in the huddle with him.
  5. His last year was the most impressive to me. The prior year he had too many INTs. Our guy had that Ole Miss in games against teams with way better rosters in the SECW.
  6. Had it stayed the same as the year before it would have been Rattler/Howell IMO.
  7. Why didn't any other team want Corral? The Seahawks? Nope. I'm just saying you can't say Baker is terrible because no other team wanted him, but Corral is our definite savior when no other teams wanted him (through round 2 at least). Rhule hired McAdoo and his his boss like it or not so he had to approve the Corral trade and the Baker trade. I don't think Rhule is that good but I'm just saying he signed off on both trades.
  8. Put it this way. The same staff that was interested in Baker is the same staff who put a trade together for NE to jump into the 3rd and take Corral despite his character concerns as well.
  9. The Bengals have been a poorly ran franchise and I would take their QB in a heartbeat.
  10. Seriously let's just trade for Pat Mahomes or draft the next Joe Burrow. It can't be that hard right???
  11. They really don’t get it…. Can we get Cousins for a future 5th and only $5 million for one year? If so then we would be all over it. These teams with average (Cousins) and below average (Winston) are just pissed because we got a QB arguably on par (maybe not as good as Cousins but probably better than Winston) for a fraction of what they are paying. Glad too see other teams are thinking about us though.
  12. If Corral outplays them in practice that’s different than Sam IMO. Corral hasn’t proven he can’t start like Sam has and he will only get better (in theory) as the season progresses. So basically I’m ok with a competition between Corral and Mayfield, just not Sam because we already know what he is and it’s not good…
  13. The difference is with Baker you get TDs as well. Not so much with Sam…. Also a chunk of those came from his 2019 season with Kitchens, they have come a good bit down since then.
  14. Since 2018? Didn’t Winston not play for like a season and a half?? I wonder what the INT per game stat is…
  15. It kind of makes sense though. He had a good OL and strong running game where they could utilize his strong arm on PA plays. His arm also got him into some trouble forcing some throws.
  16. If we can improve AND lose Rhule I will be thrilled. We actually have some talent on our roster now and a good coach would help tremendously!
  17. This schedule is tough, but I don't know how tough it is because several of these teams have some questions. Will the Saints suck without Peyton? How good are the NIners with Lance still learning? How do the Steelers look with Mitch/Pickett? Rhule has actually had the Cardinals number for whatever reason... Falcons 2x, Seahawks, and possible Giants should be pretty bad and the Lions might still need a year or two (they were playing competitive at the end of the year though).
  18. You will have to ask Tepper than question. That depends on how much Baker was carrying the offense. If he was simply playing the role of game manager and we like what we see in Corral, we let him take over IMO. If Baker lights it up then we will have some options. Some options is a good things vs PJ/Sam/Teddy/Broken Cam.
  19. Browns - If no Watson then we should win Giants - Winnable Saints - Winnable (No Peyton) Cardinal - Winnable 49ers - Winnable (Lance's first year starting) Rams - Loss Bucs - Loss Falcons - Winnable Bengals - Loss Falcons - Winnable Ravens - Loss Broncos - Loss Seahawks - Winnable Steelers - Winnable Lions - Winnable Bucs - Loss Saints - Winnable I show 11 "winnable games" and 6 games we should lose. We obviously won't win all 11 winnable games and might upset 1 or 2 of those 6 we should lose. If all goes well we win more than we lose in the winnable games and maybe get an upset or 2. I should see us being 8-9 or 9-8 if Mayfield clicks in McAdoo's offense
  20. Because all they have to look at would be practice. Practice doesn’t always translate into actual game performances, especially with Darnold. If Baker has a lingering injury or is way rusty that’s one thing, but starting a QB who has proven he can’t start because he looks good in practice doesn’t make sense to me…
  21. Starting Sam again would be like taking back someone that has cheated on you 10 plus times, but appear to be saying the "right things" now. He can look good in practice but the league knows what he is on the field during the game.
