  1. Meh, I don’t look too hard into rookie seasons for QBs. I think it will turn out to be a solid class.
  2. Then wait and do it next year. We should have done it last year.
  3. Yeah you need some blockers to run against P5 opponents. Also he didn’t play too many P5 teams right? He looked good against Syracuse and put on a show against VA Tech. Looked good against Syracuse a 2nd time (mainly throwing 200 yards 3 TDs 0 INTs). Looked bad against NC State and the first half of Ole Miss.
  4. You definitely don’t want to constantly run them. Have them keep the defense honest and his arm can make them pay. It’s more of a way to slow down the game for them while they progress as a passer. Russ Wilson does it right like you stated. He kind of stopped running as much as he got older. I feel like most of Cam’s injuries cam from the pocket when he wasn’t expecting it. Which brings up the point we would definitely have to build an OL for him, which is why I won’t be mad if we don’t draft one and select OL like you want.
  5. His arm is pretty spectacular. Seems to have a good head on his shoulder and is gifted at avoiding pressure/throwing off the run. I’m not 100% sure it’s going to be Rhule’s call. If the scouts/McAdoo are reporting he is the best of the bunch and Tepper hears it. Someone also mentioned Fitts wanting to sit with Cam. If he is interested in a mentor role, it would really be a nice scenario for a QB like Willis. You can even run a similar offense. Willis isn’t as raw as people are making him out to be. Does he need work as a passer? Sure. His passing stats in college look as good if not better than Lamar’s as a whole. A smart QB with a good work ethic that has a rocket arm and can run with the ball can be deadly in this league.
  6. I think you can work him in some plays and build an offense plan around his current skills like the Ravens did with Lamar his rookie year. Will there be growing pains? Sure, but that’s part of it.
  7. Willis and Fields both have high ceilings. Fields had the advantage of playing for a team loaded with NFL talent while Willis did not. That caused Willis to make some bad throws, play hero ball, and not develop as much as a passer not unlike Howell this past year. When I watch Willis’s games I see also a lot of Howell’s 2021 no OL blocking, running around trying to make something out of nothing. Out of the two I’d probably prefer Fields because he had better height and was further along as a passer, but I’m high on Willis’s potential as well.
  8. Willis would bring some excitement we haven’t had in a while. If he busts then at least we tried and the best time to try is a meaningless last year for Rhule.
  9. Hell even drafting Pickett at 6, will be the least damaging thing Rhule can do to this franchise at this point. Pickett may turn out good, if not our new coach can try again with his guy and either trade Pickett or let him be a backup.
  10. Yep it’s the easiest, cheapest, lowest risk move we can make at the QB position. So naturally we will try something else… Most fans will get excited about having a new young QB to develop.
  11. Yeah no more red flags than a Lance or Josh Allen. I read Willis plays some hero ball and trusts his arm too much. That’s a lot of college QBs, especially those with lesser talent around them.
  12. I wouldn’t hate Cam mentoring Willis with McAdoo coaching him and a nice FA OG addition to our line. BC, FA, Elf, Brown/late pick, Moton with Cam/Willis at QB. Maybe Cam for the first few games and start working Willis in. You wouldn’t really have to change the offense. I
  13. You don’t know it was consensual and no one is really talking about that poo anymore but you. I get it though, poor Robert Kraft… Team billionaire owners all the way!
  14. I mean kind of… It looked like he just had a better OL to me. It wasn’t a great coaching job by either one.
  15. Just draft a freaking QB for the love of God. It’s very easy to recover if you miss and it won’t set us back nearly as bad a trading for a good one. If it works out you suddenly have a cheap QB you can build around.
  16. I could stand behind this perhaps. What if he was creepy and exposed himself to 22 different women?
  17. People have different lines morally. Supporting a football that knowingly doesn’t care about sexual assault/crimes is a strong line for a lot of people. If people are against it the best way to change it is to stop financially supporting it.
  18. When it’s out there in your face it’s difficult to ignore. I’m not saying to do full background checks on everyone on the roster, but we KNOW he has been accused by a lot of women and are interested in him as a leader of this team? Where do you draw the line? Do you want Bill Cosby to help with scouting? How about Harvey Weinstein?
  19. That’s the first thing I thought. It’s not really an upgrade. Why not draft one???
  20. Personal feelings are all over entertainment now. That’s part of it now. If we land Watson, I can still like other players in the team, but there will definitely be a dark cloud over our franchise. Let another franchise have him. It’s a terrible decision for the franchise with him not have legal issues. Throw those in and it’s disgraceful…
  21. I wonder if Fitt is meeting with Cam to see if he is willing to have a mentor role at this point in his career. That would make sense if we were looking to draft a rookie…
  22. It makes sense. McAdoo seems to be high on QBs with the most upside. He liked Mahomes and Allen. Willis fits that mold the best in this class. Scouts were high on him last year as well.
  23. (7-8-1 isn’t a winning season) We never could accomplish back to back winning seasons which means no sustained success. Losing more games than you win with an elite QB is pretty bad. I would call it unacceptable. Now doing it every other year would be considered a failure by me. Following each good year with a bad one was incredibly frustrating as a fan and watching the window close sucked. I much rather build a team from the ground up then hope/pray one QB can save us with little to no help. I’ve already seen that movie and it’s not a happy ending.
