  1. It's a near 10% swing, but if you really want to look at the data, Horne would be trending MUCH better. Otah missed a completely season and only played 4 games his final 2 years. Horne just had his healthiest season yet. Otah's was also a reoccurring knee injury while Horne's were more random. It's really apples to oranges IMO. Honestly I think the comparison was just thrown out there for theatrics and just proven wrong. No big deal.
  2. A lot of us were saying this. It's just the new market for a top CB. As the cap go up the cost for a premium player at a premium position follows.
  3. Shemar would definitely help our run defense even more, but year lack of sacks is concerning...
  4. You want answers? I’ll tell you tomorrow at noon! Stay tuned!
  5. We miss more than we hit in the 2nd round. It was a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Nearly an entire draft but the 1st with SF didn’t have.
  6. More TDs last year in less games (double the TDs) and more yards per game. Those are some tough stats to brush aside. Career stats are good but we are wanting the player for what they are currently. DK had some drop issues too.
  7. Are you debating if it’s debatable?
  8. That's debatable. Especially if you look at last year.
  9. We may have made a good call trading him. What we did with the assets is a different story…
  10. Strong logic. Address as many needs as you can before the draft to allow BPA. Going into the draft forced to draft specific positions at specific rounds means possibly missing on some better talent. We all know this roster needs talent.
  11. We also need a FS on the roster. Even a cheap one would be nice
  12. Reading this with a picture of Carl Winslow beside it has ruined my childhood forever....
  13. Staying in more common in the NIL time. Daniels and Nix looked great as 5th years and Ward stayed to play this previous year.
  14. It has potential to be soild. Manning, Nico, Allar, Sellers, Nuss could all be 1st rounders. Plus some mid level guys plus there are always random QBs who can have great years.
  15. Running by a FA signing with the coordinator using him isn't overly investing or empowering lol. It's just common sense. I get that if our defense keeps struggling Evero's seat gets very hot, but you don't cut him out. Hell we still have Capers involved and Evero is his guy. I get what you are hinting at but it's still Evero's defense until it isn't.
  16. With Stroud on a rookie deal you keep the sure thing vet LT protecting him IMO. You draft one and they don't work out... that could really ruin the development of a young QB.
  17. reading comprehension is a real struggle here...
  18. Morgan "tanked" the defense because we had to allocate money to the OL to see if our highly invested QB could work out. Safeties are the bread and butter of Evero's defense and we were linked to two of the premium ones day 1 of FA. His DT's are known for pass rushing vs run stuffing and we were in on Milton who does just that. Morgan is the GM so he has final say but I doubt he is picking players that don't fit Evero's scheme. He would just have Evero replaced for a guy who can run what he wants to run. Morgan was part of the team who hired Evero as well.
  19. 7 sacks last year. "up to" is a key phrase in this contract. I'd like to see the details.
  20. They should be in win now mode. That’s crazy…
  21. What are you even arguing here? We signed Moehrig to a big contract and didn't run it by our defensive coordinator? I think screwing him last year is the reason we tried to sign Milton and threw money at one of the young safeties (one of the most important positions in his defense) on day 1 of FA. Canales has been pretty hands off with the defense until he gets more experience.
  22. He 100% has input. You think Canales is drawing up this defensive roster? He mentioned not entirely knowing what a nose tackle does. Evero's scheme features the safety frequently which is why we targeted several of the top young ones available with Moehrig and being in on Holland. It's just a version of Fangio's defense (which is probably trending now) with sprinkles Capers in there. With a young HC with an offensive background, Evero is the defensive mind until he isn't.
  23. You don't think Evero is having input in a day 1 defensive FA costing this much? He uses safeties to pressure more than most DCs. He also frequently rotates one down into underneath coverage while keeping one up high. For example Woods was our FS last year hence was he was always the one we saw getting burnt deep. Richardson when he played was our SS cleaning up the underneath passes and helping in run defense. We basically upgraded him by a large margin. Still need a Woods replacement though...
