Why aren't we acquiring compensatory picks?
ForJimmy replied to DMathematics's topic in Carolina Panthers
You said 3rd and the best it can become is a 4th. Now throw in decreased value of FUTURE picks vs current and 5th is probably right while 3rd is absolutely wrong. Strop trolling… -

Getting fired for job performance. -

Jaren Hall for BYU is playing tonight. He is a bit undersized, but is accurate with a good arm and limits his mistakes.

If Young had a bigger frame and height, he would probably be the top pick no question. With Baker struggling to see clearly in the pocket and Kyler as well, the height thing worries me for a top pick. Stroud is one of the best pure passers, and Levis probably has the highest floor IMO. Richardson has the highest ceiling, but needs a ton of work still like Josh Allen did (I wouldn’t trust that with a top pick). I still think people are overlooking Cameron Ward. Great arm, speed and stays calm in the pocket. He broke records in the lower division and is looking the part in a power 5 conference. He throws a lot of passes too in a system similar to the one Mahomes ran in college.

If we are drafting in the top 10 again because of our record Rhule will be gone.

Corral is very much a question mark, but I say we draft one and let them battle it out. You have to have a QB to compete and a 3rd/4th isn't a high enough investment for us to pass on one this year. Even if he becomes our backup that is a cheap backup QB IMO.

Has the Laviska Shenault Jr trade already paid for itself?

That's a hole in one! Also the punter lands on that poor blocker's back as well. Someone was icing his ass all day yesterday.

Icky is awesome. Us fans like to overreact sometimes…. -
It’s odd because winning one-on-one balls was a specialty of TMJ in college. We need to get him more involved.

If you look around the league half of the starters are first round picks. Burrow, Herbert, Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Fields, Rodgers, Mahomes, Jackson, Tua, Allen, Mac Jones, Daniel Jones, Murray, Lance. Plus several have first round QBs that were acquired via trade in the Rams, Lions, Commanders, Falcons (FA), and Panthers. The Steelers also drafted their future QB this year in the first. I get some of these players aren’t great, but they are starting QBs in the NFL meaning there aren’t many better options for these franchises. So the odds of getting your future starter are in drafting one in the first. A Warner or Delhomme are much more rare to come by plus we have little cap next year to try to sign one.

Give me some hope. Can this offense be turned around?
ForJimmy replied to Khaki Lackey's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think he is a good HC, just better than what we have currently which isn't saying much. He looked good with us before as the secondary coach (and DC) when his guys were able to play man and blitz. He had Norman playing great, but I think Snow likes these soft zone schemes for whatever reason (probably because he has a linebacker playing free safety). -

Keeping it simple with limited personal has to be a Rhule thing. Maybe he isn't smart enough to understand the more complex schemes so he has his OCs dumb it down? I don't know but he is the common denominator as you stated. The interim should be Wilks IMO and let Sean Ryan call the offense. -

We would need to fix/revamp our entire offensive scheme. Honestly I'm not sure it's all on McAdoo as every OC looks bad under Rhule. It makes me wonder if he is putting his stamp on each offense these OCs are bringing in. We need to start adding presnap motions and rotating in other weapons throughout the game, get Higgins some catches, design some plays for DJ etc... We have the talent to be decent on offense we are just lacking the execution IMO.
