I wanted Fields so bad…

I already see we are going to have posters that originally were down on Baker stay down on him when he plays well. I know we will have the opposite as well. I feel most rational people think he did his part today and willed them into a position to win the game (only to be let down by his coach and defense).

By the way we need to teach our OL to make these DL pay for jumping up and swatting passes when they are being “blocked.” I saw an interview with an old DL who was saying he hated trying to bat down passes because the OL damn near broke his ribs when he would put his arms up.

Because they have no WRs or pass protection from their OL??

He was sacked 4 times, had a center then couldn’t snap the damn ball, a run defense that couldn’t get him the ball back and a HC who prevented him from attempting a game winning TD when he had the offense in rhythm. All of these things and he still gave them the lead with just over a minute left. To top it off he had no chance to try to capture the lead again after they got that final FG.

Yeah his weaknesses were his HC, pass protection, and run defense.

I know, I always fall for it. I told my wife they just got the lead only to crush my spirits one more time. It’s really hard to watch that defense though. Our offense seemed to settle down, but damn we couldn’t tackle poo.

I’m just pissed off they reeled me back into that game just to let me down again.

Stop crying and grow up. Baker rallied this team with CMC. He had a game winning drive in which Rhule made them settle for a FG and then our “#2 defense” let them go right down the field. Is Trubisky better than Burrow because Burrow started off bad and lost to him? You are just crying because we didn’t get the win. Look at our OL play (first half), run defense (how many YAC did they average) and Rhule’s dumb decision to settle for a FG. Give me something legit instead of crying because we lost and blaming it on the QB who almost willed us a win we had no business getting.

But aside from all of that… what could he have done differently??? (sarcasm)

You watched the game and that’s what you came away with? I’m just going to assume you didn’t watch.

Not played for the FG when we got deep in the RZ. Our offense was clicking and he went up the middle to setup a FG and let our struggling defense try to win the game. Conservative coaching doesn’t work in this league. Let Baker or CMC try to get it in the end zone then settle for a FG if you can’t.

He came alive the second half. This loss is on Rhule for taking the foot of the gas of a hot offense to take the FG and rely on our struggling defense.

Yep he wanted to put our defense in that spot who was being abused all game. Offense was hot and he took the foot off the gas. Conservative poo doesn’t work in this league.

Thus secondary needs to prove they are legit.
