  1. OP isn’t saying we pay Sam to a huge deal. If Sam plays serviceable and our team is improving there us a chance he could get signed to an average contract. It would also put us out of range for Young/Stroud/and other top prospect. We could basically become what the Colts are. Is that good or bad? I’m not sure…
  2. Yeah I read that rumor too, but he seemed eager to learn when we signed him. I haven’t written him off yet. He came in injured mid season. I think Horn will keep a fire lite under him and will see if he can put it all together this year or not.
  3. Better late than never right? I agree 100% though.
  4. Yeah either Sam makes a big leap with better OL (which I don’t see happening) or BC shines at LT, we hit on a FA OL, and acquire a QB through trade or draft that shows promise… (which I also don’t see happening). Not impossible, but it doesn’t look good at all…
  5. His hiring of of staff this time around has been refreshing. It does appear (if it is him making these hires) he is learning from his mistakes. With that says he would need a really solid year to not be fired after year 3. Too many better coaches are only given 2 years. I just don’t see how he can upgrade this line AND get a better QB this year and that’s probably going to be what it takes…
  6. We have too many needs to throw money at him. Let him walk with Gilmore and Jackson. We can look at OL, MLB, and FS in Free Agency while letting younger guys like Burns, YGM, Horn, and Henderson develop.
  7. I mean no one is expecting us to draft a rookie QB and win the Super Bowl next year. The question is can we build a team around one of these QBs that can make us competitive enough to compete every year and have a shot at winning it all.
  8. If Cross, Icky, or Neal are there at 6 it would be hard not to pick them. If not, I think it’s wide open for QB or trade down or who knows.
  9. If one of the big 3 LT fall to us, I would think we would have to take one. If not trade down if possible, if we can’t then maybe we look at QBs.
  10. Agreed. I would say the great leaders tend to get the most out of their teammates. Manning could make an decent WR play great and Brady won one with Caldwell as his best WR. You are right though, if no one is open and there is no time to through the ball, it doesn’t matter how good your QB is. This is a little bit of what I was saying with Willis and Howell. Howell has proven he can be great with weapons and when his OL gives him a little time (2020 season), and he didn’t play terrible when he had neither.
  11. https://www.google.com/amp/s/pittnews.com/article/162514/sports/kenny-pickett-announces-return-for-fifth-year/amp/ He seems to hold it better in the pictures in this article. Everyone loves a good ball holder…
  12. They had to make up for missing that Higgins facemask on Ramsey on his long TD.
  13. Strong struggled at the Senior Bowl. That hurt his stock pretty bad.
  14. I am ok with drafting Glass, but it would need to be 6th/7th round. Best case would be he signs here undrafted. Give him a year or two to develop and in an extremely rare case we could have a Romo/Warner/Delhomme undrafted QB become a starter. More likely he could be a project/backup for us. We just watch the undrafted QB for the Ravens step in and throw up some nice numbers. Glass would basically be our backup with a slim chance of starting one day. In the 6th/7th he would be pretty low risk (I mean otherwise Rhule may draft a LS again).
  15. Love the optimism, but a lot would have to go well for that to happen to us. We would have to fire Rhule and replace him with a coach better than Pederson (seems likely I agree), then find a QB that is better than Lawrence (he is still a bit of a question mark, but we have really poo the bed on QBs lately), and build our line ( which is very possible, only Jax is about to draft a high potential LT this draft). Also the Jags will be trying to improve their team in the meantime without having to worry about finding a QB.
  16. I hope Rhule isn’t allowed to trade any future picks…
  17. I definitely don’t think he is as good as Burrow. He has shown an ability to study film, work on himself and become much better than he was. His arm strength is average (similar to Burrow) and he go through his progressions while buying time in the pocket (like Burrow). Burrow is just wired different than an average QB. He rarely makes mistakes and stays calm under pressure. He is constantly working on becoming better (posted an article earlier on how he has increased his motion/velocity throwing from year one to two). If Pickett can be 75% Burrow he would be worth the pick.
  18. I can’t wait to see him on the field!
