It's funny because Mahome's 6.3 rating by these draft "experts" is lower than Willis and Pickett's rating... https://www.nfl.com/prospects/patrick-mahomes/32004d41-4840-1939-e4c1-bb89191b4e71

Sam was the QB last year with a much worse line. That was a 5 win team. Banking on us getting the top pick isn't a good idea. The 1-4 was an exaggeration kind of... It is a QB obsessed league now and last year they went 1-3 with them having questions. Zach Wilson was a bit of a one year wonder with injuries to his throwing shoulder (still went 2), Trey Lance played in a smaller division and was a big of a project and still went 3. Mac and Fields fell, but Mac was questioned because he was surround my talent and limited physically. If this next class is as great as you think it is, it can go 1-4 QBs. Otherwise the 4th-5th option is going to have some red flags. If we drafted Mac last year in that great QB class, how do you think that would have looked? Him behind our line with our staff developing him? He needed the Pats OL, running game, and staff to have success. So even the 4th best option in last year's class wouldn't have worked here.

Thank you! I've posted this several times. We were a 5 win team with a much worse roster and drafted 8th and 6th the past two years. There is not going to be a top tier prospect available later than that next year. Even if there are 4 great QBs they will probably go 1-4, because teams can trade down to acquire a ton of capital if they don't need one. They talk about last year's class, but no one on here wanted Mac because he had weaknesses and Fields was also questioned by several scouts. There were mock drafts where Fields dropped to like 20.

Murray could make sense. Especially with the timing…
-
When Fields was available our stupid staff thought Darnold was the answer. They have since realized that was wrong.
-
Nah man this QB class is terrible, no first round talent. They will wait until next year and draft one of the 32 sure things prospects that will be available…. On a side note, if they jump us for Willis causing someone like Neal to fall to us, I’ll be thrilled!
-
I’m afraid you are right. If he gets his way and drafts the QB he wants, he will go for the most pro ready in Pickett.
-
What was Stafford's before he got traded to the loaded Rams??
-
No I get the volume. Is the 5th/6th guy a better prospect than Willis/Pickett. Banking on us getting a top 10 pick could be a dangerous move. I mean we are 6th now, 8th before and have already repaired a good portion of our OL. There are just a lot of variables in the wait until next year approach. I personally will be ok if they ignore QB this year, but I don’t think Rhule will. If we are high on a guy in 23, we can even trade up, it’s just been pricey lately. I wish we just signed Mitch to a cheap deal like the Steelers did…

A top 12 QB is a "running" QB??? How can this be? Also which 11 do you have above him?
-
So if our professional scouting team drafts Willis or Pickett, are you going to be ok with it? The 23 class has a lot of potential, but we have a lot of unknown variables too. Who is leaving early, who gets injured, who regressed and most importantly where are we picking? I feel if Neal or Icky or there then it’s a no brainer, but if they aren’t it is pretty wide open… We may get our top QB in this class at 6 versus the 5th or 6th option next year. I’m just trying to look at it from all angles. The hardest obstacle to figure out is how much control Rhule has over the roster and how that will affect our draft.
-
Lol weak response. He was the Most Valuable Player over all the players in the league and he plays the most valuable position. Lamar has proven he can run or throw if needed. If you hate him running so much talk it over with his coach or just get over it.

Are you really expecting a NFL fan base to act respectful to an owner of a franchise that can’t get his team to pass 5 wins? If he is concerned (which I’m sure he is not) about a group of sports fans respecting him while he is losing he is in the wrong industry. I think you are way more concerned with how is he treated than he is… Does Tepper make you call me daddy or do you do it voluntarily?
-
That logic kind of annoys me. They were getting that 3rd regardless as a comp. It’s not relevant to the Parker trade so he doesn’t come free…
-
It’s not that silly of a thought process IF Rhule still has roster control. Taking a tackle and looking at next year’s QB class is the safer/long term route. Rhule is on the hot seat and next year (in theory) should make or break him. @micnificent28is saying drafting a LT like Cross for example and rolling out Darnold again probably won’t get us many more wins NEXT year. Swapping out Darnold for Pickett (most pro ready) might be his best shot at increasing our wins next year. If Rhule wants to keep his job he needs results ASAP. It’s one of the many reasons it’s foolish to have a coach like Rhule with roster control. Hopefully he no longer has full control ( these recent FAs seem like someone else is calling the shots) and we have nothing to worry about.

The Athletic's Ted Nguyen scouts Kenny Pickett

Nice points with the data to back it up. I’m sure it will be countered with lazy Dalton comparisons and the ole eye test. Huddle Update- if a QB doesn’t have Rodger’s arm strength he is Teddy Bridgewater. If a QB is athletic and had a lot of rushing yards he is Tarvaris Jackson. -

I think everyone thought Mac was going 3 to the Niners. Then this board freaked out because they thought we might draft him. I was one of the ones who didn’t want him too. I think Willis is getting the attention in this class and I see why. He has a lot of potential. -
Apparently the Browns wanted this for Baker.

I think it was a red flag when you came on and immediately continued a conversation that a previous user was toting to a point of trolling. It was like a day after he got banned you came on continuing it. I'm not saying he is or isn't you but he was definitely a troll and basically lumped only certain black QBs into a category with the stereotypes of can't read defenses, will never win etc... If the mods don't monitor this board it will turn into a real poo show fast and we will have to be scrolling through countless trolls, threats, and nonsense to try to find decent conversations. Unfortunately that is what it has come to. No one wants this place to be as annoying as Facebook or any social media filled with nonsense, we want to talk about the Panthers.

This is what we know about Kenny Pickett. He has shown he can play the game at a very high level in a Power 5 conference without a loaded roster. He made a big jump from his previous years (which to me means he put in the time to get better at this craft. This is essential to have a successful NFL QB IMO. The greats are always trying to get better.) He has good speed for the position and uses it to extend plays and has an average NFL arm (this isn't a negative or a positive just average). He seems to be one of the better QBs at going through his progressions/reading defenses last yet. He only had one great year and his hands are 3/8 of a inch smaller than Burrow's are his negatives. I would be more concerned if he was Jordan Love with one good year not being his most recent one. I think he is a decent prospect and if he build properly around him (like almost any QB) we can have success with him.
