Where does the "culture" go from here?
Stuart Smith replied to MechaZain's topic in Carolina Panthers
The biggest failure was overestimating the skill set of Sam Darnold. Tepper is used to having things happen for him instantly. You can do that when you are a billionaire….most of the time. This is the NFL, you are competing with other rich people. That was a setback for the Panthers until the contract for Sam Darnold is up. -

I agree with you 100%. I would love Bozeman. We don’t need to depend on Michael Jordan and Eflein. We need depth anyway. -
New Orleans has always managed to do things with the salary cap that leaves you with a “how did they do that” question.

If if the Texans do not think it is a sufficient offer they could refuse the trade, but I doubt that happens.

Tanking every year year is why we sometimes have trouble attracting free agents.

The fact that we have a “lame duck” coach might actually be a plus. I feel that it has been conveyed to Watson that he would be involved in coaching hires, what Houston supposedly offered him and reneged on.

Tepper will let Watson name next head coach?

Can the Panthers afford McCaffrey and Watson? -
Whole lot of Deshaun Watson chatter happening out there

If I was a betting man my money would be on Seattle. -
I wish we would build a team and draft a quarterback whether it is this year or next. I do not see how it is smart to trade a boatload of draft picks for a quarterback, but maybe that’s just me. We need an Offensive line first.

Bersin caught a lot of flak but was a pretty good 3rd down receiver.

Panthers have reached out to Minnesota for Kirk Cousins
Stuart Smith replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is a mention of it in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. I listened to a little bit of a sports radio show a few minutes ago, the general consensus is that it will not happen. -
None of our receivers will hit their ceiling until we resolve the quarterback situation. 3 one thousand yard receiving seasons with our quarterbacks was quite an accomplishment.

Riot: Panthers to take a major swing at QB?
Stuart Smith replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Exactly. With a “lame duck” coach it will be difficult to recruit a top 15 quarterback to Carolina or to accept a trade to Carolina. With the knowledge across the l league that it could be a different coaching staff next year it makes difficult. -
If Rhule consults the other coaching hires it should be a collective decision on who the Panthers draft. If the former head coaches look at film of the Panthers last year and agree that drafting a quarterback is more important that building the line with the first pick then that’s what should be done. I personally feel it needs to be a franchise tackle, but that’s just me.

Apple is a defensive back who gets beat a lot. He has bounced around from the Giants, New Orleans, Panthers, and Cincinnati all since he was drafted in 2016. Rhule has his issues, but he is not always at fault.

You are both probably right. In my opinion K.C. Lost when at the end of the 1st half they did not manage the clock and missed a chance to at least get a field goal.

What does Brady retiring and Sean Payton Retiring mean? Can the Panthers turn the ship around this year?
-
I would cut Cam Erving, John Miller, and Dennis Daley. Even with whatever dead cap we would absorb I would rather sign I drafted Rookies to fill their spots.

I agree. I have been as frustrated as most fans with how this season unfolded and questionable coaching decisions. However, at the end of the day it is the owners team and his decisions. Who knows, we may have some good coaching hires and be pleasantly surprised next season. I will always have hope.

Sean Payton Officially Steps Away From Saints
Stuart Smith replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
1%% He takes a year off and really looks at opportunities closely. Anything he would do now he could do in a year. I don’t see him coaching again in the NFL South unless he returns to New Orleans.
