The future of the Panthers really depends on what Dave Tepper does-doesn’t do regarding the quarterback situation. Regardless of how adamant he is about not admitting Bryce was the wrong choice at some point he has to move on. If the Savannah Banannas can fill up Bank of America with 74,000 people two nights in a row it should be obvious. Fans will support the Panthers when leadership proves capable. Tepper needs to allow Morgan and Canales to choose their quarterback and move on. Decisions made this offseason will be interesting. In 2015 Bank of America was electric, I would love to see that again.

I’m not sure people understand how fuging bad it is

I held out hope that by the end of his 3rd year Bryce would break out and be the quarterback you expect a number one draft pick to be. I was on the fence with him at the start of the season, hoping the light would go off. However, it is not going to happen. Troy Aikman stated while watching the Panther-SF game that it was difficult for Bryce because of his height. A diplomatic tv word salad way of saying Bryce ain’t it. I hope Tepper was listening. If Bryce had the arrogant personality of a Will Levis perhaps Tepper would have already pulled the plug. Bryce is a good person. Having said that, the young man is set for life financially. To delay pulling the plug on him at quarterback any longer than this season is really unfair to him. He needs to be able to move on with the next phase of his life whatever that may be. -

Yep, Philly. I researched his salary and then typed the wrong team. Thanks for the correction. -

Sam Howell is making under 5 million a year with Minnesota. If we do not draft a quarterback at least give us a different face for next year. Andy ain’t it. -

I would look at Sam Howell before Gino Smith. I think he got a raw deal in Washington. New coach wanted “his quarterback.” I may be wrong, but he would be my choice of the quarterbacks who would be available and out of contract after this season. He may be available for whatever pay Dalton. -

Not sure Morgan has had control over what to do with Bryce till now. I am convinced Tepper forced Bryce on this team because of his investment. In retrospect the national spotlight shining on this situation last night may have eliminated any doubt as to what needs to happen moving forward. Morgan had a good draft, but I do think his biggest mistake that he had control over was keeping Andy Dalton. We do not have a capable back up. -
Official Week 12: Panthers @ 49ers Gameday Thread

That is true, but even with an incompetent quarterback you do not keep passing from the 1 yard line. -
I hope Tepper is in agreement. Troy Aikman alluded to this last night when he said that it was tough for a 5’10” quarterback to see down the field. I hope Tepper was listening. I hope if we do not draft a quarterback we at least bring in some competition. Sam Howell will be a free agent. I got sick of Buck and Aikman gushing all over the 49’ers when this game was there for us. This has to be the worst called game of Canales career.

We could have beat the 49’ers. 3 interceptions turning into no points? We squandered multiple opportunities in this game. Poor play calling, execution, play calling, and missed opportunities did it. We had injuries, but so did they. -

Might beat New Orleans. -
Has been for me. About ready to give up.

He had an injury history at NC State that evidently made them leery. He went to a high school 10 miles from me, he was a heck of a player in high school as you would imagine. He tore his ACL during his senior year in high school and re-tore it again soon after arriving at State. He had season ending surgery in 2021 after having surgery on both shoulders in the offseason. He did play 2 full, healthy seasons to end his college career.

Official Week 11: Panthers @ Falcons Gameday Thread
Stuart Smith replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
It almost seems like this team is bi-polar. We have a week where the effort is there and the team is focused. The next week it looks like they are walking through the motions. We will find out a lot in the next few weeks. I hope today’s win gives them some confidence. -
The Green Bay win has to be up there.
-
Coker caught one very difficult pass. Tommy Tremble on the game winning drive was unreal!
-
This is a must win for the Falcons. They will be ready after losing 30-0. If they lose again to thevPanthers it might get another coach fired.
-
What frustrates me is that there were several commenters on this site saying this was a “trap game.” If the fans can see it why should the coaching staff not prepare the team better? Mind boggling.

Not sold on Canales, but I would like to see him with a capable quarterback.
