As long as the same criteria is used for every quarterback in the league I am fine with his game winning drives. No one is going to overlook the W-L record the panthers have over the time Bryce has been here. The game winning drives are a credit to the players on the field, not just Bryce. If just one receiver had not made a crucial catch when targeted in the last 6 minutes of the game we would be having a different conversation this week.

It’s time to discuss DANimal Morgan as our GM
Stuart Smith replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I do not know how much the G.M.’s trust their college scouts and their opinions. However, I think it is worth noting that there has been some changes in our college scouting in the last two years. Sometimes that can be more important than we realize. -
Panthers will not draft a quarterback this year unless it is in later rounds. Too many other positions of need.

Where in the world did this run D come from?

In the past we lost to some terrible teams. Baby steps. -

Still do not understand why our best defensive back does not shadow their best receiver. -
After 6 games I think it is fair to say the players added to the team this year have made a huge difference. The draft was a huge win with several rookies playing at a high level. The addition of an undrafted Kicker, the signing of Dowdle and other moves hopefully bodes well for well for the future. The most important thing is we still have all our draft picks.

That may be true, but also the number 1 offense. The Panthers were underdogs regardless. I hope our young players continue to gain confidence and grow. -

The Dowdle Mirage - Play Calling Problems
Stuart Smith replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have more concerns about whether we are utilizing the strengths of the roster than most anything else right now. Cade Mays should have been starting. It appears that relieving the defensive play calling from Roseboom was a good move. Having players on the active roster that have been released while Jimmy Horn was wasting away not activated is noted. I know it is still early in the season, but I feel like training camp was a missed opportunity to recognize our players skill set. This rookie class is the strongest I can remember. There will be games that will not be pretty, but these youngsters like Jimmy Horn need to be on the active roster every week. Dan Morgan hit a home run with this draft. -
Although the reason it was close was because of his turnovers, he did lead a game winning drive. He will be the quarterback at least for the duration of his rookie contract. I don’t see the Panthers drafting a quarterback this year. Maybe next.

The catch by Horn to keep the last drive alive was a good catch. I hope he stays active. This years draft class showed up today. I know this was not a top ranked team, but we needed it. -
panthers offense 30 of 32 in yards per play
Stuart Smith replied to fanpanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly, the number of “elite” quarterbacks in the NFL is diminishing each year. Father Time has caught up with some who are hanging on for a payday. -
I would like to see us at least finish 2nd in the NFL South. Not focused on draft position.

Official Week 3: Panthers vs. Falcons Gameday Thread
Stuart Smith replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Might be me, but when their kicker missed the first field goal I thought that was a momentum shifter. When he missed the 2nd field goal I know it was. The Atlanta coaching staff in no way had them ready to play today. I feel like they might have been reading about how terrible the Panthers were and thought they could mail this one in. When Entienne fumbled the punt return and the Falcons could not capitalize it was a difference maker. -
Is Bryce is going to have success at any level as a quarterback in the NFL he has to eliminate his turnovers. This was a very winnable game today without his turnovers.

Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
Stuart Smith replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
I agree. I know reports are that Hendon Hooker did not look good in preseason. Having said that I do think that we need to at least give him a look. At this point I do not think it fit could be worse. -

Could have had Sean Payton (though I detest him), could have had Jim Harbaugh, could have kept Steve Wilkes who the players loved. Yet we hired Dave Canales. Here we are.
