  1. Interesting that baseball and the Yankees were brought up. The Yankees consistently outspend the small market teams (as do the Mets) who cannot afford the payroll and go over the cap. Yet, it has been a while since either won a World Series. This is not the same as football, there are some differences I know. However, there are some things to think about. The ability of the front office to recognize and retain key players while managing payroll is equally important in any sport. This is for all intent and purposes Fitterer’s team. How this team performs this year is a reflection of his (Fitterer’s) ability. It will be interesting to watch.
  2. I could think that about some players. However, through this entire process Burns had supported his team. The fact that he is a positive influence in a contract situation is refreshing.
  3. Clemson imploded with the mistakes. No, they did not look like a Trevor Lawrence team. However, not scoring twice from the one yard changed the whole complexion of this game.
  4. It is obvious their receivers are not the premier receivers we have become accustomed to at Clemson.
  5. Brian Kelly spoke too soon about winning tonight. Usually not smart.
  6. I thought about Eason too, I would not have a problem with him.
  7. One thing I seldom seen mentioned is our scouting team. Not sure exactly how that works but I often wonder if the Panthers are as strong as other teams. I am sure any GM has to depend a lot on their evaluations of college players.
  8. I though Ben MacAdoo was the biggest cheerleader for drafting Corral.
  9. I hate it for Shi Smith. I remember his first year with the Panthers Steve Smith was real high on him in training camp. Sometimes it doesn’t work out.
  10. Word I’d he could catch but poor blocking.Combine his pass catching and Thomas’s blocking you might have something.
  11. If he doesn’t find a home he might be on their practice squad after last night.
  12. Dalton did not impress either, at least me.
  13. Corral. He did not look like a good backup. Honestly Dalton did not look very good either.
  14. I may have been one of the “geniuses.” I don’t think that after watching more of Corral. However, if Bryce goes down we are in trouble. Dalton’s interception tonight ruined a good drive. I just hope our O.L. Protects Bryce.
  15. I may be in the minority, but To me Corral has not looked any worse than Dalton.
  16. I agree 100%. Trades is the way to go for young people.
  17. Attention span about the same with most news stories, local and national. People read the brief “hit” pieces and will not research to find the facts.
  18. I have not been able to watch the younger offensive line play as many of you have. I have read the opinions of several writers on some of our younger linemen. Zavala, Jensen, Mays come to mind. Is Deonte Brown ever going to have the ability to give some positive minutes? Thoughts on Left tackle? If Ekwonu regresses or regresses do we slide Christensen over to LT? Jensen played tackle and guard in college, could he be a someone like Brady Christensen who plays himself into a major role? I guess these sound like rhetorical questions, but I wondered if anyone had similar thoughts.
  19. If you think Reich is a “bust” I will have to say I do not think this coaching staff is. I have expressed some concern but anyone who gives up on this staff and this season is doing so way to early.
  20. I don’t hate the Panthers at all. If I am bothered by one thing now it may be that the players laughing on the sidelines (to the average fan) gives the impression that they are not mentally involved with what is happening on the field. Several coaches that were recruited to join the Panthers staff this year have aspirations to be head coaches. I have to believe that the Panthers are playing a very generic game plan both of offense and defense for a reason. If we do not appear competitive this year it will not be a good look on any aspiring head coaches resume. I am concerned about our left tackle and offensive line more than anything. I was hoping we had it “fixed.”
  21. Someone displaying capability of being adequate replacement for Austin Corbett, offensive line protecting quarterback, defense stopping the run.
  22. Chubba can be an asset. He may not be a #1 back, but he has obviously worked to improve his pass catching ability. We do not need to bring the baggage Kareem Hunt brings with his past. Not a good fit for the Panthers.
