  1. Not sure I agree with you fully on the veteran retention point (Done, DJ, etc) but maybe those are the younger players you reference. Otherwise, i pretty much agree with you on the rest. Even with my lack of faith in Rhule taking this all at face value is a very tough sell, but it's awfully specific and most isn't much of a reach from what we see on Sundays. Truth to any individual bit would be bad enough but if all of it was somehow true... dang.
  2. Fair enough. I can respect the honesty and recognition of reality that accompanies the wishful thinking.
  3. Based on what? No new personnel, same DC that we've seen get gashed by the run for years now... signs do not point to such a conclusion.
  4. What would be the point of firing him at any point before Week 15 or so, assuming Tepper was even willing to do so? Rhule's here and we're stuck on this ride until the season ends... it is what it is.
  5. Any time I see a play like this it flashes me back to the utter BS 'forward motion' overrule when Schultz fumbled against Carolina last year vs Dallas.
  6. If that's the case then yeah, Ellis is doing a disservice by framing a quote like that. I posted my thought but if your context is correct, that does change the frame.
  7. And yet again, an utterly awful way of saying something. If you HAVE to say something then say things are gelling, say the team is continuing to practice and sync up, but don't say something like this. It's just flat out dumb and he does it time after time after time.
  8. Absolutely not - what an absurd premise. A missed FG or last-second win because the Browns wanted to lose more than Carolina does not wash away the awfulness of the first half and other ineptitudes observed yesterday and for the last 2 years. Let's see what week 2 holds in store.
  9. I didn't hear the quote myself, but if he said this comment as it's written, it's another example of him saying something in an awful way. Who cares what the rest of the league is doing? Either do something because it's how you believe you can win and it fits the personnel, or else sound like an also-ran.
  10. It's probably been said several times in here already, but if a game against a Jacoby Brissett-led team that you've had months to prepare for comes down to a blown call, you lost no matter what. That first quarter and change that I was able to watch was ugly, ugly, ugly.
  11. Interesting stuff, and always nice to see what ewe intuit so cleanly evident in hard data. I've been pretty outspoken in my stance against retaining Rhule and don't have anything else to add. At this point the results speak for themselves and this season is young. There's no sense in even worrying about it because 2022 left the station long ago.
  12. Don't worry guys, our defense was #2 last year and had a reasonable YPC number even though we watched them get gouged week in and out when it mattered most. ...
  13. Just like Rhule and McAdoo drew it up... art of deception.
  14. As I said before, even if a few things look better because of Campen/Tabor/McAdoo/etc, what doee Rhule himself actually bring to the table? Only been one game but Rhule did Rhule once again even after a supposed off-season of learning and growth.
  15. They've picked up exactly where 2021 left off, and Jacoby Brissett's suckitude is the only reason Cleveland still has no points.
  16. So what happened on that penalty? Who did what to have the flag thrown?
