  1. I'm not saying that we didn't overdraft him (I agree), but He has shown some flashes and the tape has looked decent. Just like Bryce, until he gets a coaching staff that isn't licking windows and eating paint chips its hard to truly evaluate him. Steve Smith did an entire segment breaking him down and I saw some really positive flashes, but its gonna take competent coaching and improved talent around him to be able to show up. I mean, Tank Dell looks like an absolute stud, but in fairness he benefitted from being able to work a limited route tree, having a VERY good Nico Collins opposite, and a much better O-line than anything we have here.
  2. I saw a few flashes, Im not ready to give up on mingo. Hopefully he has a good offseason and comes back strong next year
  3. For all the talk about firing coaches midseason, its important for people to remember that Rivera was kept a year too long and same can be said for Rhule. Only real surprise kneejerk firing was Reich. All 3 decisions were the right decision but at the wrong time.
  4. honestly, I was thinking about that yesterday. The team I grew to love is just gone. Theres no semblence of toughness on the team. I dont see a player that I think would perservere through adversity. Hell, even in our bad spots, we had guys we felt like we could get behind as really good role models, but we dont even have that (Not saying players dont give back, they absolutely do, but none that are above and beyond). I hope they give us a reason to pull for them in the next few years rather than just the logo they have on their helmet.
  5. -1. We lose so bad one week that we actually owe the NFL an extra game as punishment. fug this shitty management and ownership.
  6. Anyone in the stands who would do something like that would be banned from games for life...instead he's the owner of our team. We really are the clowniest of clown shows.
  7. there is literally nothing left for him to do, I understood holding on to make roster moves until the end of the season, but with 1 week left, what we have is what we have, just fire the fuger and move on.
  8. I dont think they got good, I do think Mingo has progressed really well (although wasnt a big factor today), but Chark in particular is showing up because he knows he has to do something if he wants to have a job next season.
  9. honestly, thats a testament to the run game. Hard Running softened the defense (like how real offenses run). Its nice to feel like I have real hope.
  10. 312 2 TDs, kid looked very good today. Granted bad defense, but I dont care, Just seeing a REAL reason to believe is huge.
  11. thats like saying the colts hit rock bottom with Reich last year, might as well try jeff saturday. There is a bottom beneath this if you can believe. Look, I love cam, like Cam is too good for what this franchise gave him. He became that icon he said he wanted to be WHILE carrying our franchise and being broken by inept coaching. That said, He's an athlete and an entertainer. The problem is not that we have to hire new people, its that Dave Tepper needs to keep his ass out of peoples decisions. He hires and sticks with yes men, so if we get real football people with real backbones to make real decisions without a testicle headed owner looming over them and things will change.
  12. Its almost like when you commit to a smash mouth football gameplan because thats the strength of the O-line we have while having running as the primary focus and let your rookie QB learn as the second line of defense instead of focusing your entire gameplan around throwing the ball 500 times a game, sometimes your rookie QB can look decent. WHO WOULDA THOUGHT.
  13. In fairness, I dont care about his weight so much, muscle can be put on. I mean, look at the pictures of Tom Brady at the combine, he was 211 at 6'5. Muscle and weight can be put on. From what we've seen this season his size is not the concern. What is a concern is all of the other things.
  14. that sounds right now that you say it. I just remember it being an anecdote and like a blurb that got out and I remember at the time thinking "Thank god, we need that in our locker room".
  15. it will never happen. Harbaugh is a hard head who wants things done his way. Hell, people forget biggest reason he was let go in SF was because he REFUSED to fire Greg Roman. Do you think Tepper would allow anything like that? No goddamned way, mister dick fingers cant keep his hands out of the decision making, and Harbaugh would need that freedom. There's no way I see it happening.
  16. fug it, lets run it out as a make a wish coaching staff. Just kids get their wish of being NFL coaches for 4 weeks, legit would be about the same. Cant wait for "run the ball then dont and throw touchdown" play
  17. I agree, but that's kinda the problem, I don't know if he has that dawg in him, I certainly haven't seen it and I've been as big a bryce defender as there is. Because guys like that never faced it no one knew, some persevere, some crumble. I will say some of the signs I'm seeing right now point to crumbling because he looks like a shell out there right now. I remember hearing a story during cams rookie season that after they lost another game and were doing horrible a vet came up and was like "Its ok, cant win em all", ya know the usual rah rah poo, and Cam blew up on him. That was the Dawg you talk about, Cam always had it and we all saw it. Story may or may not be true, not sure, just what I remember hearing and it fit his personality. Now flip side, if you told me today that in the locker room Bryce snapped at someone like that because of how we're losing, would ANYONE think that story was true?
  18. said it earlier today, his spirit is completely broken. Maybe he could have been a good QB, but whatever chance there was has been completely set on fire. He was trying, thinking he was doing alright (we all knew it wasn't true, but at least internally they fed that they were behind him), then reports start coming out that his footwork sucks, he doesn't get the plays in on time, coaches wanted him benched. I think he was shielded somewhat from these criticisms (and in fairness, they are all fair criticisms) until the damn broke and now he realizes no one has his back and pretty much everyone thinks he sucks. He's never faced adversity in his life being the #1 HS prospect, Heisman, almost never losing in college or high school and always having people suck his dick...well, criticism comes and he's mentally broken. Maybe he gets it together and becomes great, maybe he can regroup in the offseason, but there's a good chance that between shitty oline, bad receivers, awful coaching, and his own actual fug ups, we've completely trashed this guys career.
  19. I think his spirit is broke. honestly its about time to bench him.
  20. ThatsGoodSports I will say deserves a bigger audience, guy is legitimately funny and makes great content. IN FACT, if you remember the "Im Dying Inside" sad panthers t-shirts, he made those. I think TheBigCat gave like 20 of them out at the texans game.
  21. O-line. Anyone saying qb, get it out of your head, young will start next year, after that maybe, but he's still what tepper views as the building block. Receiver would also be good. Also, everyone keeps saying the draft is deep at certain positions, but always remember, it requires actually HITTING on those picks. We took cade mays and deonte brown late because OGs are supposed to be had late in drafts...well we whiffed and were still at square 1. It only helps if we hit on the picks and I have no confidence in that.
  22. our FG drive we played under center with a lot of presnap movement, and then we just said "nah, we should suck" and went right back to the bullshit we've been doing. Positive though, o-line looked better, but it did seem they changed the blocking scheme up and simplified it for them with a much larger commitment to downhill running.
