In fairness, Pretty sure it wasnt a very desirable workplace for the ladies on "jeans day" during the Richardson years.

At this point I'd be ok with 59 doppelganger AKA AJ Klein
-
Not really in love with him, literally said he could be good depth for us at a position of need in the future. Lets see what he can do, I'm hopeful that he can carve a role on our team as a backup and special teamer who can come in and contribute when necessary.

The good thing is you can still see the effort and his motor. like you said theres a lot of potential. You cant coach effort, you can coach technique though.

In short action yea, but in fairness, I think Wallace has also shown some small flashes.

So, I for one had no clue who the guy was before the game today, but seeing him play made me think we might have found a little diamond in the rough. Now don't get me wrong, he's a UDFA we snagged from someone elses Practice Squad, but he was all over the field making tackles (Including a regular tackle that was penalized for a Hip drop for no reason....fug the refs). Ended the game with 4 Tackles, 1 sack. Not saying he's some earth shattering breakout player, but does seem like he has the potetial going forward to be depth on our roster. I'm more than happy leaving him out there full time for the last 2 games to see what he has, but was encouraged by this week atleast.

Man, I'm so fuging tired of these absolute dogshit refs. Zero accountability for being absolute failures. If I were a player I'd be fuging pissed, you have to answer to the media meanwhile these window licking chucklefugs get to fail miserably. fug the refs. -
Prime Cam Newton vs Current Josh Allen
Carolina Cajun replied to Panther8989's topic in Carolina Panthers
I get that Allen is amazing, but I'm gonna buck some of the glazing here. IF we are talking PURELY PRIME...Cam. Cam Newton in 2015 was a generationally transformational player. Cams prime was ruined by injury in 2016, and he was never the same, but lets say the injury doesnt happen, his Prime continues. Cam could make every single throw, he could run over people, he did things that Allen physically cant do and frankly as the tank he was no one ever has. Simply put, you cant tell me that if tomorrow Allen takes a shot to his throwing shoulder that destroys his ability to push the ball deep (which is a lot of what makes allen special and what made Cam special...god his backfoot 60 yard on a rope to ted ginn against the raiders in 2016 pre injury is still one of the most insane throws I've ever seen) that everyone here would still say Allen over Cam. We have to contextualize based on how long the "prime" window was, Cams window got slammed shut unfortunately and its a true shame. -
I feel its been this way the entire season, and frankly since the hires of canales and morgan. That draft didnt feel the same as the others involving tepper, the field operations feel much more competent and in the hands of canales because there would have been much more chaos but Canales stablized the early season insanity and has officially proven himself as a decent NFL HC.

BREAKING: Jadeveon Clowney out of Phily game
Carolina Cajun replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Clowney is the #2 receiver of pass rushers. When he isnt the primary target in pass rush, he does well, but when he's depended on as the #1 option, he cant handle it. -
Um....this past draft was easily the best draft we've had since tepper was the owner. Brooks is the outlier. XL still has been getting open, too early to say he's a bust, but god his drops have been beyond frustrating. Still though, he's been getting separation which is more than what we had since Moore and that is promising. Trev Wallace is a 3rd rounder developing. Dont forget JT Sanders prior to the injury finally looked like a catching TE we've never had (I know Olsen was incredible, but he was more a traditional well rounded TE, Sanders is a big body that you flex out, Olsen didnt flex out often). Smith Wade has been a decent value CB pick, and of course Coker has the potential to be really good as well. Since Tepper has been here, I havent been this optimistic about a draft class.

All good, just pokin some fun. It is crazy how many guys that arent "NFL style" players have been the most important staples for us. Hell, even Cam, he was a running QB and "That had never really worked in the NFL" up to that point. Who in the world would run zone read in the NFL, no way could a QB survive, let alone thrive. Those were the narratives, then he became the gamechanger. We really wouldnt have the Jalen hurts, or the Lamar Jacksons of this game today, if the path wasnt blazed by Cam.

Also to add, if its a possibility to bring dalton back on a cheap 1 or 2 year deal, I'd do it. I think his veteran leadership has been a huge help to bryce. Yea, we all joke about the "Bryce gets to watch how a veteran prepares" comment as soon as Andy threw an INT, BUT it still was true. Dalton may not be able to execute in game like he used to, but he knows what a real NFL work week looks like as a starting NFL QB as well as what a NFL vet QB does during a game and Bryce got to see that for a few months, and I think that has translated to him. Bryce IS a smart dude and apparently was able to learn from the benching.

I remember a guy who was pretty good that was told he was too small to play at the college level, let alone the NFL, then had kind of a big impact on our organization...

In fairness...still probably not. Our Defense played well, but Philly would have got the ball back with 45 seconds and 3 timeouts, best case tied, or worst case down by one. Nothing in my mind makes me think we stop Jalen Hurts and that offense. Thats bread and butter time for them, although we'd prlly feel more like we did after the chiefs game where just gave them too much time.
-
to add, you get more static personel because there are far fewer subs, so if you can exploit say, an undersized CB on a receiver, its harder for the defense to snap change of plan to defend a group or play. There is a downside, and its a big one that was exposed when chip kelly tried doing just that in the NFL...you're defense WILL get gassed, regardless of talent or personel. We have a....serviceable...defense when they have time on the sideline. Especially with how talent deficient our defensive unit is, if we put them out there more today, the eagles easily could have scored 35 points or more.

I'm not done with him but god damn....I agree you give rookies time, but I remember hearing a coach say on TV years ago that in like week 3-4 you make a mistake and its ok...its a rookie, he's young, but by this point in the season there are NO ROOKIES in the locker room anymore. Team shouldnt be having to tell XL to hit the jugs, he should be doing it on his own.

Will this team finally draft a center?
Carolina Cajun replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
he'd somehow hike the ball off his chest.
