  1. Unsure. If you're in market and don't have a cable package, you might want to break out an antenna just in case it doesn't I have been able to watch CBS games remotely with a paramount+ subscription (don't recall if it was a local broadcast game or not, but P+ does do geoblocking)
  2. Roger Goddell in a recent interview: Goodell claimed the NFL’s broadcast policies are “as fan-friendly as you can get” while reiterating the universal availability of live, in-market games for fans Sunday Ticket is not for a local fan wanting to watch their local team. It's for the uber-sports fan (or sports bars, which is a different story) or an out-of-market fan who can't/won't go to a sports bar https://awfulannouncing.com/nfl/roger-goodell-broadcast-policies-fan-friendly.html
  3. the whole game was sloppy, but showcased to Brazil everything that could go wrong with the NFL scripted series bad turf ref getting hurt QB getting hurt (if it was cramping, he should have tried a shot of pickle juice instead of eating a banana) confusing penalties. LOTS of penalties a doink field goal attempt turnovers galore
  4. Per the NFL, mirroring isn't supported. I'm guessing that the previous commenter was saying they AirCast *other* content from their device, and not specifically NFL+ https://support.nfl.com/hc/en-us/articles/5405818220060-Can-I-cast-live-games-from-NFL-or-NFL-Premium-to-my-television
  5. Allow me to repeat: Other NFL team message boards have been taken down by promoting pirate/unofficial streams. Please don't post any here so the Huddle doesn't suffer the same fate (the google has any number of them for those interested, no need to repeat them here)
  6. There are add-on boxes you can purchase to allow playback and recording from an antenna setup https://www.tivo.com/products/edge-antenna https://www.tablotv.com/ (the Amazon Fire Rewind is supposedly stellar, but it's been discontinued)
  7. Sunday Ticket ran a number of discount promotions over the summer. As the season winds down, remember to cancel the auto-renew so you can take advantage of those options next year A full YouTubeTV subscription is not required. You can order ST as a standalone product. New this year: ability to create your own multiview (of any out of market games)
  8. Other team message boards have been taken down by promoting pirate/unofficial streams. Per NFL rules, games will ALWAYS be available OTA (antenna/cable) on a local channel for the participating teams. For example: Tonights Peacock game will be available on local TV in Philly, Milwaukee, and GB.

  10. Its not handheld phones that can be distractions A neighbors kid was driving to brunch on mother's day when she (says) looked briefly at her dash-mounted phone to confirm directions That momentary glance caused her to swerve over the double-yellow line into a head-on collision with another SUV and its three passengers Both vehicles totalled, everyone walked away. No info on other passengers, but she had a broken shoulder that's still getting rehabbed An electric vehicle wouldn't have prevented this. It was a not-that-old-ish vehicle she was driving, but not sure if lane-assist would have helped either, if it was active
  11. this may not work for you, but some families tell their kids to meet them a block away from the school for pickup rather than having to wait specifically in the parent pick-up line (or they park a block away and walk up to the school to meet the kid, whatever works)
  12. I think we'll be fine if we can regularly get two 8-yd passes out of every three downs (or two eight yard runs every three downs, any combination take your pick) Goal is to move the ball past the sticks. Anything beyond that 1st down marker is bonus yardage
  13. bring it back, yes. was expecting to hear it at the Clemson fan fest - would have been appropriate
  14. the 1970's version is more rocking, but we'll take what we can
  15. (if the Panthers social media team could whip something like this together for a Schedule Reveal video, that'd be hysterical)
  16. The Manningcast is now a musical, featuring many NFL and other people who you may or may not recognize
  17. Selected excerpts from this article: https://gizmodo.com/two-cybertrucks-drove-from-florida-to-the-arctic-circle-and-it-looks-like-a-nightmare-2000493507
  18. 100%, if you have other priorities take care of those first But if you can dedicate (any) monthly money as a future car payment specifically after youre done with your current payment cycle, it can help lower future payments when it comes time to do so
  19. Advice: after you pay off a car and no longer have a car payment, continue to put a "car payment amount" into a basic index fund monthly By the time you need a new vehicle, the fund (should) be able to pay for the car entirely Thinking a reasonable achievable amount, like $300/month and not the +$800/m payments some people are making
  20. Samsung sells tactical-grade phones https://www.samsung.com/us/business/solutions/industries/government/tactical-edition/ I wouldn't go with a generic brand Android build if only due to potential lack of software /security support and upgrades Question is whether you need a "military grade phone" or simply a super rugged case and screen protector for a standard phone
  21. If fuel economy is what's driving (heh) your EV interest, take a look here for MPG comparisons https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.shtml
  22. I still think it's too early to go all-in on EVs *if* you're one of those people who like to keep cars for as long as possible. There's not enough data supporting how repair costs/replacement costs beyond maintenance are for an EV after 10+ years compared to hybrids like the Prius that have longer track records. Is an EV just another disposable commodity, or can it be a long-term, uh, investment in transportation? Tesla falls in the middle of the pack on expected reliability (per Consumer Reports). Not enough data on Rivian to suggest if their even lower reliability level is normal or related to lack of information over an extended period of time JD Power has Tesla ranked super low in reliability (albeit with an asterisk)
  23. An article from a few years ago talking about EVs and battery life/replacement costs: https://www.thedrive.com/tech/39687/teslas-early-vehicles-are-becoming-a-study-on-ev-battery-longevity
  24. Battery technology may change, but the physics behind how batteries work will always be a restriction that can't be overcome. (in other words, Tesla or Samsung isn't going to invent anything new that will be a breakthrough in battery tech) There are hybrids on the road today still running with the same battery after 20 years, partly because they're not running on battery 100% of the time. I doubt the same length of time wil be true for Teslas (or other EVs), which is why the next Big Thing for EV manufacturers shouldn't be inventing a new battery, but figuring out how to revitalize/reuse batteries as EVs become unpowered
  25. While he said "his heart has always been with the [Panthers] organization" when he retired... Steve Beuerlein has been named the new national radio color analyst for the Dallas Cowboys
