Im more so implying that he could operate at FS for a decent amount of snaps. I dont think we need to limit him and his skillset to any position, were pretty deep at corner and weak at FS. His value is even higher for us knowing he can slide back to FS if we need him there.

I mean if you read my post I mentioned both Donte needing to be resigned. I doubt he’s signing any sort of small contract to play either, I’m just making the point that due to our surplus of CB talent and our utter lack of FS talent he could be more impactful personnel wise at FS.

Personally I think he’s the best DB in the league, he’s played FS in New England. And you can make the argument that the differential in talent between Gilmore and Burris is far greater then the talent difference between him and Jaycee. I understand your point but I think there could be some real value in even a part time role at FS.

The Stephon Gilmore trade is even more interesting then I first realized. He has position flexibility to play free safety, a position we are really weak at. Maybe he doesn’t play free safety this year with Jaycee out, but next year with Jaycee back I think that it could be a real possibility. Also, I think there’s a strong chance we bring Donte back, Frittergoat clearly loves his DBs. CB-Donte CB-Jaycee Slot- Henderson(or Bouye if he resigns) FS- Gilmore SS- Chinn + Keith Taylor as a really strong backup option That lineup is the best DB group in the league with zero doubt. Plus we finally get a real FS in the first time in 10 years.

I think we matchup much better than we’re being credited. I think it’s reasonable for us to be underdogs in this game purely based off the loss of CMC plus Jaycee. The loss of production from those two will be very evident, if we still had both of them I strongly think we should be favored. This is Darnolds game to win, Dallas has a fast offense and has the ability to put up big points quickly through the air. I don’t see Zeke having a good day, our focus will definetly be Dak this game. The two headed monster of Amari and Ceedee will need to be limited which will be hard especially without Jaycee. On the positive side Dallas is very depleted on the D Line, it’s gonna be hard for them to get pressure even on our o-line without blitzing heavily. If Darnold can get the ball out quickly and beat the blitz I personally think we have a strong chance of winning this game. Gonna be a great game, it’s gonna really show our true colors. Trading for a one year removed top ten pick who’s only character worry is being quiet is amazing. He doesn’t have history of getting in trouble, he seems grounded and more introverted. I personally like his demeanor it’s good to have a mix of personalities we already have two very strong personalities at corner with Donte and Jaycee so his quieter personality will mesh well. I wish CJ nothing but the best I’m super excited we got him, incredibly talented and seems like a good dude.

It’s not always just about how severe the injury is, it’s about how his body responds to treatment and how fast he can heal and get back into playing shape.
