Trey Lance - best QB of this draft not named Lawrence

Attitude and work ethic are absolutely crucial, but some people don't have the aptitude to read NFL defenses and all the work in the world won't help. I don't know if that's the case for Lance because I've never interviewed him or know anything about his mental faculties. Thus, it remains a question. If Rhule & Co. think he can do it, I'm all on board. To be sure, his physical tools are ridiculously impressive. -

No one is going to dispute the guy has incredible physical tools. The key questions are: can he develop into a consistent thrower? Can he read complex NFL defenses and process options? He's never had to do either, but he'll have to do both if he's to be successful in the NFL. -
Josh Norris believes WR 3 is a big need this offseason
Pup McBarky replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I'd go CB 3a, MLB 3b. -
Thank you.

This guy from our pro scouting department...

Would love it if TD wants to coach. Let him be a coaching intern with the LBs. We could use it. -

It's TD's day. -
That is scary. Whether it's biased, wishful thinking or not, I tend to think they hung on to Hurney primarily because he was more familiar with the talent out there. Though it was obvious he favored former players, but moreso (again maybe wishful thinking) for their knowledge of his system and to set a tone. If he thought Whitehead was truly a starting caliber NFL MLB, then that doesn't bode well.

Agreed, though I assumed the two words were keep pounding.

I'm not against this. It all depends on what happens when we go on the clock. Is Slater there? Can we get Darrisaw if we trade with Minnesota and pick up an extra 2nd? If so, I say do that. Too many scenarios to really consider a concrete path. We just have to wait and see what happens. If I were GM, I'd be hoping someone in the low teens wants someone bad enough at 8 to give us their 2nd and maybe a later pick in addition to their 1st. But that's just me.

Panthers awarded two comp picks for the draft
Pup McBarky replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's a deep draft. We could pick up 2 quality players with these picks. -
Nevertheless... She said likely not, but it's looking more and more likely so on both.
-
Could've sworn it was about both. It was when someone mentioned both had stopped following the panthers on the tweeters or somesuch.

Didn't Verge practically guarantee that neither Teddy nor Shaq would be on the roster this year? Or am I misremembering?
-
That guy doesn't exist. Even Brady couldn't do that in his prime. Football is a team game and requires good players spread throughout the lineup. You can get by with mediocre in some spots, but not the majority of your starters and certainly not on both lines.

What does Moton tag mean for Curtis Samuel?
Pup McBarky replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Someone will see him as a potential #1 because we tend to see what we want to see. I could see the Bears or Eagles jumping on him. Maybe the Dolphins. -
I'm torn about that. Knowing what this year's IDL class looks like, I'm not mad about it. You also need a stout DL to get to the SB. I get what you're saying and it would be awesome to have both OTs locked up for a few years. Hopefully, Rhule & co. can rectify that this year. Pretty good LT class and we'll have a shot at one of 'em.
