The Chiefs, Eagles, Bengals, 49ers, Dolphins all suck, ya know, because they lost too.

Jensen may stick over some of the vets we signed/re-signed in the off season. Definitely Jordan and possibly McCray. Erving stays if we can't find an upgrade at swing tackle. Ideally I'd like a true guard to beat out BC and then Brady becomes the swing tackle making Erving expendable. If Zavala can stay off the ouchy list, then that would make the best sense at LG beside his old teammate.

I swear I wasn't tipped off, lol! I posted this in the DJ Johnson thread yesterday morning.

The defense always seems to have the early edge every camp. So that's not shocking. If the trend continues after the next couple of weeks, then sound the alarm bells. Reich even said yesterday that the offense is still doing installs. I'll wait to see how the offense looks once the entire playbook has been implemented before getting too concerned.

Whether the rookie will be a bust is yet to be seen, but one thing is clear, he's not ready now. That's why we need to sign a stop gap like Justin Houston. Yes, he's 34, but as a rotational guy, that's completely okay. We did the same with Jared Allen and worked out fine. Haynes is too iffy for me. He's stays dinged up and is undersized that results in him being unable to shed blocks. He should thrive in this system, but HAS to stay clean. That's where a proven vet can come in on a 1-2 year deal and give us the time to find/develop that guy opposite Burns.

Camp closing due to Covid broke my Camp Wofford steak of at 17 years. I went to one camp practice during the Rhule era and it was the most uninspired practice I ever saw out this organization. Thought about going this year, but ultimately the schedule didn't line up with mine and with the streak broken, no urgency on my part to "have to" make a practice.
-
This is why Ian is still here. Another lingering kick in the nads by Rhule. Dude is the 12th highest paid guy on the team and not even the starter at his position. Getting paid more than Hurst this year who took his spot, smh.

Didn't like the draft pick, didn't like the new contract so I think the experiment is about to run it's course. Average TE and when your blocking is better than your catching in today's NFL, you are not in high demand.

Panthers sign former pro bowl LB Deion Jones
45catfan replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope he turns out better than just about every other ex-Falcon player we've sign. They pretty much all have sucked for us. -
Yep, even in a STs/reserve role I think he has an impact.

First season only in '95 was played in Clemson. We played '96 in Charlotte. That coin was from the '98 opener.

It wasn't the logo but the name itself that was objectionable. I figure as long as the depiction of the elderly Indian isn't the logo they could even use the old feather logo too, just with a 'W' encircled instead of an 'R', if they went with Warriors. Chiefs stadium is literally Arrowhead stadium, Atlanta still uses the Braves in baseball and FSU uses the Seminoles name. Referencing Indians in sports isn't offensive to most as long as it's done with integrity. I get were Redskins was the most offensive nickname is sports, but it doesn't mean that DC should have to steer 100% away from Indian theme.
-
How about Warriors? It fits DC and is a nod to the old nickname. They could even use the old 70's spear logo.

I'm not worried about the Falcons this year and I disagree the are going to be hunting for a wildcard. The problem I have is I think this is Ridder's lone shot to prove he's a legit NFL QB (which he's not). So Atlanta without a legit QB, with all these supporting weapons, is going to do poorly enough to land a legit QB in the draft next year. If the Falcons indeed land a franchise QB in next year's draft, that team will be something to contend with. Tampa is treading water is desperately trying to avoid the inevitable rebuild. Rebuild inbound. The Saints are the Saints and every year try to keep that championship hope alive while trying to avoid the the cap/talent purge. They will be good enough to vie for a playoff spot, but will not make any noise even if they manage to make the postseason.

Good, dude seems like a distraction anywhere he goes. Better the Titans locker room than ours. Next one to dodge is Clowney. After that, if we need to sign another FA (for a reasonable price) I'm good with it.

Why Panthers Ikem Ekwonu will be The BEST Tackle in the NFL
45catfan replied to shaqattaq's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yup, he was my draft crush, but as the draft grew nearly, the talking heads well nearly in lockstep that Ickey would be the first tackle off the board. Some great of stroke of luck he fell to us. -
ESPN lays off employees, with more cuts to come
45catfan replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
ESPN has sucked for years. The only time I catch it is in bars and restaurants when I'm captive to the whatever they have on their TVs. I have not watched anything on ESPN in a long time other than actual sporting events and the NFL draft. Sports Center and the talking head shows all are horrible. Kinda like SNL, it had it's heyday when it was actually great entertainment, but it's hard to watch anymore. -

They used to love it in NC too, but now philly cheese steaks and grinders have taken their place. Needs to called Char-lanta now. -
Early Father's Day Present for Bradley Bozeman 😭
45catfan replied to PantherFanInPhilly's topic in Carolina Panthers
Totally awesome video! To re-sign Bozeman or not this offsseason didn't move the needle for me one way or the other, but he seems like a really down-to-earth kind of dude, so now I'm glad we did. Dude is now a millionaire and brought to tears by being gifted his uncle's old beat up pickup truck. Heartwarming to say the least. -
Yup, he listed all playoff QBs on his wish list. Dude wants a ring and we aren't there yet.
-
Looks like Mays and BC are getting the first reps at guard. I wasn't sure BC would be healthy enough yet and also wasn't sure if he was getting moved back to tackle.
-
Hopefully we get some sense of the pecking order, especially among the DL and LBs.
-
His size says DE and yes, we need more help there.

Any updates on who we signed after rookie minicamp?
45catfan replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
The last 7 in will be camp bodies. Only signing(s) of note will be after cuts before regular season...if any then. Either that or if a significant camp injury occurs and we have to sign a unsigned veteran.
