    Heard on the sports radio today that an insider with the Saints said they are biting the bullet and finally doing a reset this year. That said, don't expect a QB at #9 even if Sanders is there. Perfect year to do a low key tank for that 2026 QB draft class.

    That's my main problem, at #8 that's a future HOF or perennial All-Pro spot. If you aren't 100% sure that player is a Day1 starter or might be scheme adverse, stay away from that player that high in the draft. I just know our track record with 'tweeners and undersized EDGE guys. Piss poor would best describe that track record.

    For the record, I DON'T dislike Walker, I just think #8 is too high for him. If we move back to the mid-teens and still can get him...fine. I would have no problem with that.

    Unless he's fibbing, later on Simms said he's heard while "some people love Walker, others don't even have him as a first rounder".

    I'm now seeing some mocks that has us trading UP to #4 if Carter somehow falls to that spot. That would require our 2nd and one of our 4ths.

    The only team that may take Walker before us is the Jags. I REALLY hope so because that means Graham likely falls to us. Taking Walker over Graham makes no sense to me. The Raiders and Jets are going offense.

    I realize we are going for a mediocre EDGE player, but I don't have to like it. I mean it's par for the course, I'm routinely disappointed in our drafts year after year. It would be different if I thought our drafts sucked and we were winning Super Bowls, or crap, even sniffing the playoffs. I think I have room to gripe when I think our drafts sucks and our team actually does suck.

    Which is crazy because they are like a security blanket for QBs. To be fair throwing to Ian Thomas is not very inspiring or reliable.

    I never said to not draft an EDGE player, but we shouldn't pigeon-hole ourselves to that one position either just because we need one. However, that's what we have done in round 1 since Hurney left and likely will do again. BPA is a farce with this team--fugg'n lip service.

    Sorry, but his junior year is what most TEs dream of in college. His Freshman year Pat Freiermuth was there, he wasn't seeing the field. So his only "non-productive" year was his Soph. year when he was still behind Brenton Strange who was drafted in round 2 in the 2023 draft. Warren is legit. I'll take a Swiss Army knife offensive player over a 8-10 sack per season EDGE guy every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

    Ever been to a garage sale? One person wants to move off something and someone else wants to purchase as long as the terms are agreeable for both parties. We are not in the RB, QB or OT market. Some other teams might be. If a team wants to move up to get one of those positions and we can still get a target guy where we would be sliding back to and the compensation is agree upon, why not?

    So they built their offense around a TE? Think about that, a TIGHT END. Also, if he's the key for defenses, don't you think they were able to successfully neutralize him at times? He didn't put up these elite numbers in the MAC, Mountain West or even the ACC, rather he did this in the BIg Ten, which arguably is the best conference now...even over the SEC.

    ^This. However, if some team feels froggy enough and nobody at the top of our board falls, let them jump.

    McShay says there are only two can't miss prospects in this draft, Carter and Hunter and we aren't getting either of them. Don't trade down for the sake of it, but if it makes sense, why not?

    If the Raiders somehow pass on Jeanty, the Cowboys will be all too happy to come up to #8. We get their second rounder this year.

    These EDGE guys all and I do mean ALL, have holes in their games. The drop off from Carter to the next cluster of EDGE guys is fairly steep. If we have three EDGE guys ranked close together and move down several spots, we are nearly guaranteed to get at least one of them.

    It only makes sense. After the elite blue-chip guys (outside of Warren will all be gone), the next 10 or so guys are not dissimilar enough to ignore trade down offers.
