  1. 6-10 years? By 10 years the original players are retiring or on the way towards retirement lol. You don't need to hit on 53 players in the draft to build a roster. If they know what they're doing, the team can be turned around in 2-3 seasons. Probably more like 3 in this case. You need to hit on a few picks and then fill in the rest however you can. Great players have the effect of making the role players better. For example, Derrick Brown made the entire defense better last year. Our team sucks, but hitting on a few picks makes a world of difference. We haven't really hit on any picks since Marty Hurney got fired a 2nd time. The only time a rebuild takes 10 years is when it takes 7 or 8 years to hire the right people.
  2. I liked the Washington Football Team gimmick. It was unique.
  3. Yep. Brown was touted as a grown ass man out of college that was ready to push around pro offensive linemen. He was considered one of the safest picks where he was selected. His first two years he played like dog water. He turned it around in year 3 and he was phenomenal this year. I already ate my crow on Brown. I was wrong. But he did not look good until year 3.
  4. Ok I am laughing. Thank you for sharing.
  5. Fields is inconsistent. His highlights are impressive but he needs to play more consistently. I’m not a big fan but taking him when we had the chance would have been better than what we ended up doing.
  6. I think the right call is to let him walk and get the comp pick. Both the team and Burns could use a break up. The opportunity to move him has passed us by. Just accept the sunk cost and move on.
  7. I agree. I’m just under the assumption that giving Bryce the old college try this year was part of the terms of employment.
  8. I would be shocked if they sign him. It would basically be admitting Bryce isn’t going to work out.
  9. Agreed on viewing the numbers in context. Also I’m biased but Steve Smith was a true game changer in his prime. Andre Johnson was a great player but I don’t think teams were as afraid of him as they were of prime Steve Smith. I have seen very few players that can have an impact on a game like Smith could.
  10. You can't go wrong with Cam or Peppers, but have you considered Todd Saeurbrun?
  11. Na. I’d rather roll the dice on Jaycee being healthy versus Jeudy being useful.
  12. Probably deserved, but its funny how the perception of Campen went from OL whisperer to dog poo in 1 season.
  13. I remember the rough patch between Harbaugh and Shanahan but I forgot it took Shanahan 3 seasons to get things going. Now this year you have Dan Campbell getting it together in year 3. Hopefully Tepper will be more patient with Canales than he was with Reich.
  14. It’s possible but I really doubt it. If Bryce is the same or worse next year I’d expect the team to move on. Real question is does this coach survive to see that happen?
  15. Please don't. If thats the case, just get the best pick possible.
  16. Agreed. I will be tempered in my comments so I can reserve the right be outraged in hindsight.
  17. He'll be fine. Money is the last (only?) thing you don't have to worry about when working for Tepper.
  18. He could be terrible but I don’t hate this choice. I figured he was the guy after Morgan was picked.
  19. John Harbaugh didn't have any head coaching experience before the Ravens.
  20. This is the best way to go. Spend draft choices and salary on improving the positions around the QB. If Bryce doesn’t work out, at least we have better pieces around the position for the next guy.
