    Apparently it takes 3-5 years to rebuild an NFL team but the Chargers are 8-5 this year, after picking 1 spot ahead of us 2 drafts ago.

    My personal theory is that Tepper is giving Rhule the end of the season to audition for next year. Thats part of why Cam was brought in and Joe Brady was fired. I'm guessing he's not on track to pass that audition, and will be fired after the season.

    Scary stuff with that injury. Didn't seem like his head hit the ground that hard, but I was worried as soon as I saw the position his arms were in.

    I don't really care what week Rhule gets fired. But, if he gets another year then Tepper is officially a lousy owner in my book. If he trots out Rhule and Darnold again next year we are the new Bungles.

    It sucks but I wouldn't classify at as devastating. The Robbie deal and the CMC deal (hindsight is 50/50) look worse because they stretch beyond next season.

    Curious why you feel that way. I don't think Burns is a bad player, but to me Reddick is basically Brian Burns that hits guys instead of over pursuing them.

    Yea but I think its a fair comparison to think about, because how likely are we to pay both of them huge contracts? Especially when we don't have anyone worth a poo in the middle to stop the run.

    My issue with the trade is not that they took the shot, but how it was done. They paid too much, but more importantly there was no backup plan. Sam turning things around was far from a guarantee, but we didn't have another NFL caliber QB on the roster entering the season.

    Easiest way to fix the offense is a new staff that prioritizes OL. We need a reliable run game and pass protection to support any QB. It would help a mediocre to bad "bridge" QB look better, and would help a rookie QB acclimate to the pro game. It would be possible to do in one offseason by adding ~3 upgrades on the offensive line.

    Yes, but Darnold was not a good starting QB when we traded for him.

    We don't even practice red zone plays, but we coach what to do when Pat Elflein steps on your foot. Matt Rhule and this staff are a joke. Faulting Cam on that play is just stupid. Tepper is a moron for not firing him already. Waiting for the rest of the year is dumb. Matt Rhule is a cancer that needs to be removed immediately.

    Rhule doesn't have a process. All he has is generic platitudes about trying hard and improving. He doesn't actually know how to do it.

    I dunno. I was ready for Rivera to go, but Rhule is making Ron look like a Hall of Fame coach.

    It shouldn't even get to that point. There's no benefit to giving Rhule another day with the keys to this team. He's mismanaging everything. At this point, I'll take an interim HC that tells Brady Christensen his arms are fine and moves him back to tackle. Just stop the bleeding until we can hire the next guy.

    Rivera was fired early and it sure as poo didn't scare off Matt Rhule. Rhule is an embarrassment and needs to be canned immediately. Tepper is ruining what's left of his credibility with fans the longer he stays employed. I thought Rhule would work out too, but its time for Tepper to own up to this mistake and sack this clown.

    Exactly. The type of school that isn't gonna pay for Tepper's fug up. They'll be calling after he's fired though.

    Unless you're gonna go for 2 both times to win in regulation, I don't understand the advantage of going for 2 earlier. If you're still going to kick the XP to tie the game later, you're just losing earlier if you miss the 2 PT. There wasn't enough time to make up for the missed conversion in this situation.

    8-8 isn't bad for a first year. and that's 15 wins his first 2 seasons compared to Matt Rhule's 10 (so far).
