  1. ALSO, why would Baltimore be willing to let him go if he is the type of QB that can win you a championship? That is a good front office who know what they are doing. If they don't see the future for him ( with a guaranteed contract ) why should Carolina jump on it?
  2. 1 ) He would want a full guarantee contract 2) I don't believe his play is sustainable, once he slows down its over. So no. Get a more traditional QB who can make all the throws and read defenses and has the ability to run when needed.
  3. I think this is where I am landing. Johnson as the top pick. I just hope we can keep Campen on staff no matter who gets hired.
  4. To be honest, I wouldn't be mad if we drafted 2 offensive linemen each year.
  5. So glad they are staying away from Harbaugh. Dude is insane, if he comes back to the NFL it is not going to go well for him.
  6. If Miami is this dumb, Tepper needs to get that man in the building ASAP and never let him leave.
  7. Henderson, Chinn, YGM If these 3 were playing to perceived potential the defense would be legit scary.
  8. He's a crazy person, the more I think on it the less I want him.
  9. These are the things. Its a little bit of what Rhule did, treat them like college kids. Rhule went the "I'm your homie" way and Harbaugh goes "I'm your boomer Dad" route. Harbaugh got wins there so it flew under the radar for a while, but when you are that guy 1 small crack leads to the damn breaking. Like....is he going to berate a player for eating a chicken sandwich, ya know? Also todays players are less likely to respond to those things IMO.
  10. I mean sounds like a plan to me....get rid of an expensive RB in todays NFL and keep a great young player at one of the most important positions on the field. I know its a meme but.....we could even potentially draft a young pass rusher with the picks we get from Brian Burns! 1 in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. Not guarantee the next DE they draft pans out and Burns isn't reaching the end of his career.
  11. Full control will be a big deal but lets say they can get past that. I have concerns with the rumors of him losing the team is last season ( or two? ) in SF. Being the hardass coach works while you can win but when the wheels fall off they really fall off. It is a risk. I don't know how true that stuff was or if it was just team fed media stuff to make them look better. That was an ugly breakup.
  12. I think a perspective some may be missing in this whole offense vs defense coach thing is age. I think its possible that a young DS also understands the new NFL and what it takes to win in it. It would be hard to imagine Ryan bringing in some dinosaur NFL offensive coordinator, especially taking a look at who he has been exposed to on that side of the ball. It is true a good OC will probably get HC consideration and we could lose out that way....but we have all also seen that personally with the DC too. Going from McDermott to Wilks was a step back and then from Wilks to Eric Washington ( and in a round about way Holcomb ) were big drops.
  13. It has been said before but I think it holds true. Rivera was a more likeable John Fox, Fox 2.0. Wilks seems to be Rivera 1.1. I think just as fans we want NFL experienced coaching that brings something new. We are desperate for it. Probably what got us excited for Rhule in the first place.
  14. Who knows what Panthers team will show up? Will the defense stay stout with out Jaycee? Everyone and their mama is going to be looking for the run can this team run into the teeth of the defense or can the passing attack make them pay? I think now more then ever the season hinges on Brian Burns. We need pressure pressure pressure. Without blitzing. Panthers win : 20-14
  15. I am praying this comes down to being able to utilize him in the system well and not relying on him to make a bunch of plays and be glued to #1s down the field.
  16. Sometimes sticking with a guy pays off. Shows him you believe and lets the locker room know you got their backs. It is a risk but in a season like this it was worth it. You either gain all the positives or cut him the next week.
  17. I mean all I'm saying is he has to over come his fatal flaw. Right now in the limited time we've seen him, it looks like he has. He has some important games coming up where he cannot be the reason we lose and at some point I am sure he is going to have to bring us back from being down a score or two, if the rest of the team is clicking can he do it? To me that will be the sign. Anyways Darnold is trending up, you gotta have a little hater in you not to see that.
  18. Got no problem with Baker. Glad he landed in a place they can use him. Our system doesn't seem that flexible.
  19. I won't lie, I've always liked Darnold so I have a bit of a slant there. I did think he was only worth being a back up QB after last season. Darnold had one major flaw, he even famously said it himself, seeing ghosts. The one thing I have seen so far from him is that is not the case. He has protection and even when it break down he steps into the throw and the hit that is coming and delivers the ball. If he can keep that up he has all the physical talent in the world to be a starting QB in the NFL.
