I have no problem taking Jimmy G for a year and only a year.

I honestly think they thought getting Sam away from the Jets would cure him and that he would play better last year. When he not only played badly but worse statistically compared to his last 3 years they knew they fugged up. Sam had all the problem he showed last year in college. I am not impatient. I am frustrated because I knew what happened last year with Darnold was going to happen. It was predictable. But our coaching staff thinks that they are QB whisperers. So we ended up with a really expensive backup called Sam Darnold that we may have to endure watching play for another season. I take solace in if he does start Rhule is hopefully gone. Unless Darnold somehow is fixed. But if the past NFL is any indicator once a QB is broken he can’t be fixed. Darnold gonna be seeing ghosts for the rest of his life.

The problem is that word “development”. If Darnold was a rookie I would be more forgiving. I think the front office realizes they made a mistake and that Darnold, no matter how they want to, can not be treated like a rookie. You mention fans being impatient. But I, personally, am not impatient and I think most Panthers fan aren’t either. They knew when the Panthers brought on one of the statistically worst QBs in recent years they could only hoped for the best. The Darnold failed and it was anger, not being impatient, that many Panthers fans were feeling. Darnold is a bad QB. The evidence is damning. He was one of the statistically worst QBs when not under pressure and he deep ball was god awful. Thinking he will turn a corner with a good line is wishful thinking.

I wish Howells pro day wasn’t closer to the others. Really want him to do well. Hope the Panthers are there in force but I have a feeling that they won’t be. Unless being close by makes a difference. Seems like everyone has forgotten him.

I never liked them calling him a rookie. There was 3 horrible years of tape. If he was a rookie and that was his college tape he would have been drafted in the 6th or 7th round. Darnold is who he is and no matter how good his O-line is or his weapons are he will always hold back any team he is on. He is a now a 5 year vet. He is a bust.

I think it was what was agreed upon with the trade. Probably was the only way the Broncos would have accepted the trade.

For me if Willis is there we draft him. If not draft an LT. Prepare to endure the suckening of the Darnold and get your QB in 2023.

2011 Eagles are definitely a cautionary tale. Made so many big signings they were called the “Dream Team”. They went 8-8.

Before the Jags only 3 teams before did it. Eagles, Browns and Bucs.

Bills fan breath a sigh of relief. They may have to face him twice a year but at least they won’t have to face him if they face the Chiefs in the playoffs again.

You enjoy being wrong. Jimmy G was carried. But in any low tier starter into that 2019 team and you will make the Super Bowl. Stop giving credit to a player that doesn’t deserve it.

You right. My heart would want PJ as the 3rd QB. But my head says we release PJ and keep Darnold because 18 million.

Unfortunately that won’t happen. Rhule is desperate and won’t put Darnold on the field again if he can help it.

I believe you but wow it was worse than I thought. Watched his pro day and so many short passes. It was almost like they were scared to show his long ball off. Every single pass was short to intermediate. They even did a screen play. Hilarious.

Well this feels familiar. A team alienating a cornerstone player and signing an inferior player. Maybe it’s just me.

I feel like I am in the twilight zone with this team or Groundhog Day. We get rid of Bridgewater only to be some of the teams to potentially get the other Bridgewater. This team.

And Jimmy can? Sure he made it to a Super Bowl and another NFC Championship. But context matters and Jimmy was on the perfect team to make up for his deficiencies. He was also the reason the lost both those games. He comes here it is 2020 all over again. Because I don’t think our defense or run game is gonna become as elite as that 2019 49ers team was. They won so many game because of that vicious running attack and Jimmy didn’t need to do nothing. 75 yards 2019 NFC Championship game. But teams see where he has been and think he was the reason the 49ers got there. NFL front offices are freaking stupid.

There is no way the FO doesn’t see that getting Jimmy is literally setting the team back 2 years to when we had Bridgewater. I am hoping the FO has learned and won’t do something stupid.

Yikes that is bad. Shows how much he was carried by his team.

At least that rules out us, thank god, because we have no picks to offer except our 6th pick and it is worth way more than Jimmy Checkdown.
