Yeah, that Draft was great (by Panthers standards). On top of the two mentioned I think Evans is going to be around for a while. Horn, Etienne, Thornton, Ransom and Umanmielen have flashed and even Jackson has made plays of late. We need to start stacking those types of classes. It's the Hurney Drafts, where your 1st rounder is a stud and everyone else is cut within 3 years, that kill you.

I didn't want Morgan, I wanted a fresh start at GM (and didn't think he was qualified), but I can't complain about the job he's done so far. If he actions Young's 5th year option, however, then he needs to go. I think, like Evero last year, fans would be calling for Canales' head when realistically he just doesn't have the players to run his scheme. It's the ultimate team sport, but you simply cannot compete week in, week out, with a sub-par QB that can't execute an NFL playbook. There's only so long you can hide his weaknesses and catch teams off guard with wrinkles before they wise up.

Why do they need time to find all those things? Replace the QB with a competent NFL vet in FA and see what you've actually got at your O skill positions. We're not in a position to continue treading water with Young at QB. It's time to progress as a franchise.

Draft a guy to develop and bring in a veteran starter who can at least make every throw the NFL requires a QB to be able to make from the pocket. We're currently drastically limiting Canales' playbook to accommodate Young. Trade Young or sit him as QB 3.
