  1. I don't know why you don't take that gamble at this point. The ceilings of Young and Stroud are limited. Push all your chips into the middle of the table.
  2. At 9, sure roll the dice, if he dies you go again next year. At #1 after giving up so much - oh lord.
  3. No, the Panthers did this deal early because the Bears dictated terms to us. They wanted to make the trade prior to FA so they knew where they stood - they now don't have to go hard after a FA WR.
  4. Imagine fielding those questions when Young gets ragdolled in a random Week 7 game and goes on IR.
  5. I'd go Richardson. You've already rolled the dice with this trade, no point in playing it safe now. Go for the highest upside player.
  6. It's a very poor FA class - you're scraping together a corps from that list.
  7. I mean I could just as easily write an article saying Mahomes could be had for a jam sandwich.
  8. If they've traded that much for 'one of' then fire everyone now.
  9. If only we could dismiss the 2nd rounder we gave up for Darnold so easily - rather than harping on about it every other thread. We've given up a lot (and we now don't have a WR corps), but at least they've moved with conviction up to #1 to get THEIR guy... whoever that is.
  10. 103 yards and a TD against All-Pro CB Surtain jr in week 12.
  11. It was in context - why are people advocating we trade away 3 years of first round picks for lesser prospects? If any of the current crop were seen as franchise QBs the Bears wouldn't be trading out.
  12. We've spent about $100m trying to find a solution at QB since Newton left. That doesn't mean we have to throw 3 first round picks at the problem too.
  13. I'd rather do the right thing so when I apply for future NFL GM jobs I can say "well I didn't cripple my last franchise in a desperate attempt to save my job".
  14. So because the Williams / Maybe picks aren't for sale in 2024 we should trade 3 first round picks this year for lesser prospects? Make it make sense.
  15. If we like three QBs then it's blind luck whether we pick one that succeeds. How often do multiple QBs from the same Draft go on to have stellar careers? I'm simply not ok with trading up, the juice isn't worth the squeeze, but if they do they'd better be going after THEIR guy with conviction - not just putting themselves in striking range of multiple guys they like.
  16. The first time I saw him he murdered the Canes on national tv. That said, we've also seen Tua get absolutely ragdolled and he's bigger than Young. I just don't see him holding up in the NFL.
  17. But why? He was out performed by Mr Irrelevant. Just run it back with Darnold if your plan is Jimmy G.
  18. If I had to hazard a guess I'd say that most of this board is drowning in debt.
  19. If there are 3 QBs that we'd love to have then we're screwed. All 3 (4) won't pan out - if we're unable to separate the wheat from the chaff then it's blind luck if we pick 1 that actually has a successful career.
