For better or worse I don't think that's ever going to be on the table. What game was it last year where we got ourselves into multiple 4th and 1 situations on the opponents side of the field and every single time Dave Canales opted to bring out Eddie Pinero who proceeded to miss wide? It's definitely something they are going to have to figure out.

Our redzone passing options on paper have improved significantly and we've also strengthened the run game. I would say the passing yardage overall isn't all that important it's more about seeing a viable passing offense and taking those deep shots to keep the defense honest like you say. What TMac brings to the offense especially with his catch radius is going to be a big jolt for this group.

That would put him top ten in touchdowns based on the QB numbers from last year. That would be impressive. The completion percentage is firmly in the 20-25 range of meh. I think as far as rushing that's a bit of an enigma. But we should probably go ahead and unblur the line between possibility and sheer hopium. I do not think any of us should want him running in the open field. Extending plays with his legs? Sure. Expecting him to have 5 rushing touchdowns? Idk how realistic that is. And all it's going to take is one big hit and bye bye that goes. It really boils down for me to putting touchdowns on the board. I'm willing to give him leeway in the statistical categories if he is leading us to consistent redzone scoring percentages. And with the offensive pieces we have around him now that should not be a problem.

No. This guy did. Did you see his mock draft? https://www.nfl.com/news/gennaro-filice-2025-nfl-mock-draft-2-0-rb-ashton-jeanty-goes-top-5-cowboys-jump-for-jalon-walker This man had Shedeur Sanders going 9th overall and us trading down to pick 12 to draft cornerback Jahdae Barron.

That's why when you have the chance to draft a C who could possibly hold down the position for the next decade in the second round you take that prospect and run. Instead we let him go to Pittsburgh.

I feel like it's impossible not to like and root for this guy. Seems like a fantastic teammate to have around too. Hopefully he and TMac will be having a good time motivating one another to up their respective game. -
I believe this is the part where someone says "puff puff, pass".

Ah yes........let's denigrate one of only two long term starting QB's in the 30 year history of this franchise. That will certainly help us kickstart the end to this winning season drought now heading into year 8.

Newton in his prime had a howitzer for an arm and was built like a greek god. When you are that physically gifted things like footwork can be worked around more often. Still. If he had actually adequately addressed it he could have had a different career. And he's already someone who is IMO a hall of famer sooner or later. So what does that tell you about how important it is? We need to let Bryce Young stand on his own two feet as his own QB. We forfeited exorbitant resources to secure the rights to draft him under the pretense that we would not have to surround him with elite pieces across the board. That along with his much discussed improvisational skills were the key selling points from the media and our front office. I sincerely hope he and Canales are putting heavy emphasis on Bryce's footwork because defenses already know what's coming since that's all over the tape. We can't hide from it.

He's got the coach he's got the pieces and weapons around him. If it's going to happen it's now. I'm ready to see it. It's been long enough since we've been truly competitive.

I like Jaycee a lot and appreciate his leadership but to say he's above Ramsey right now is based on hopium let's be realistic. He's got a great deal to prove this season. I’m hoping to see that he firmly establishes himself amongst his peers.

Panthers.com says he actually wanted #11 initially. It's fine. It just seems like the league has maybe gone a bit too far in loosening up numbers for position groups. That's all some people are saying. But this was probably always inevitable anyways as they years go on. I'm just ready to see him get out there and pluck some passes out of the air.
-
I'm hoping that's temporary because.....so underwhelming.
-
I'm waiting to see what number he will be and from then on it will be that or one of the other two. At this point I truly DGAF as long as that man is bringing down clutch passes and touchdowns.
-
I wouldn't read too much one way or another yet into the league favoring running over passing or vice versa. Right now offensive coaches are favoring balance and defensive coaching staff's are obviously having success. But it's ever evolving and I expect passing numbers to go back up again. And even though some people might dismiss it at the end of the day the league knows what moves the needle with viewership. I can agree they will alter rules if need be to maintain that.

It's a tightrope being a Panthers fan and trying not to get too caught up in the hype and optimism this time of year. I'm trying to be cautious and realistic. But we are adding pass rushers that already have some skill set built in. And also of importance the youth factor as they have plenty of time to develop. Scourton is 20 and Princely just turned 23. At least we are rolling the dice on this instead of drafting very raw and limited older pass rushers like DJ Johnson.

PFF raves about our draft. The best class in the whole draft?

Seeing as how we are still some time away from truly competing for anything of note we are in the stages of simply competing to develop our young roster. Let the young guys get their reps and see who sticks. As much as it might hurt to let the past go given how much we like Shaq as a person it's something that must be done. You don't see perennial playoff contenders lobbying to bring back soon to be 32 year old linebackers coming off an ACL tear. Sooner or later we've gotta start acting like a franchise that wants to contend for something before the year 2030.

No. Let go and move on.

I am feeling optimistic for sure. But at this point in time in Panthers fandom talk is cheap and seeing is believing.

As a solo act I can agree with this. I've seen so many of his prank videos from back about 15 years or so ago and I have to give that guy infinite kudos and praise for creating not just one or two but multiple hilarious characters all on his own. And he was spectacular at it both on the phone and in person. If he still has all his old pranks on his channel you can go down a rabbit hole and laugh for hours. He's like the Mike Judge of pranks. Legend as far as I'm concerned.

Well we've been the exact opposite of complacent with the WR room and I am here for it. Competition will improve everyone.
