  1. Yep that's a Hurney draft right there. Yet even after all this ineptitude to look back on and the man in question out of the building finally.. We put new folks in charge who took a hard look at Sam Darnold and thought to themselves: "Yessir this is the guy to save our franchise!"
  2. Lmao you're still stewing about that? As if running to the media to tell them we are "all in" and "money isn't an issue" gives us more leverage over the Texans right? Have a good Saturday!
  3. Well at least we know they can show up against the worst teams in the NBA so that's something positive I guess. Next up OKC.
  4. Such a weird fanbase that shits on DJ at every opportunity yet absolutely loved and anointed CMC to god like status for putting up lots of yards in losing seasons too. Some of ya'll don't even try to hide it.
  5. Not directly connected to the Panthers but is privy to insider league info. Take it or leave it and stop complaining.
  6. I'm just ready for it to be over with one way or another. It's been long enough.
  7. With Sam Darnold at quarterback yeah. It's comical how eager Panthers fans are to push talent out the door. Whatever floats your boat
  8. I'm indifferent on Howell but I could accept it. This is a franchise that outside of 89 and Moose has had a hell of a bad time identifying and keeping talent at the WR position. The best one of the Cam years was a free agent in Ted Ginn. My perspective is I cannot just take it for granted that we will stumble into one. CMC who knows how many games he will play. Robby had the drops last year and TMJ and Shi couldn't even get game jerseys half the time last season. They're basically rooks again this year. And just because we are desperate for olinemen does not mean two we draft from a Moore trade will become studs. That's one big layer in all this that is getting lost. People are thinking just because we need OL so bad any we draft will be can't miss. And btw Davante Adams will be 30 next season. Not the wisest route to make him the highest paid receiver when you can keep Moore or just draft one. We all want the same thing but differ on the path. But one thing we should all agree on is we need to finally assemble a prolific offense. Yeah we all love hard nosed defense but it sure would be real nice to be able to put up more than 21 points. So tired of seeing this team play for field goals while others hang 40 or more points.
  9. Howell is as big of a risk as any other QB in this class. Depends on who you think is going to be a part of that future. You have some big upcoming contracts and what you may think is a window opening can close quickly. If you can get a very good young WR already in place you are ahead of things look at the best offenses they all have one. And banking on a free agent receiver is risky they will command a big payday with contracts increasing and they will have their choice of a team ready to make a run.
  10. Throwing away another mid round pick at QB is a waste. You either take one now or wait. We don't need another Will Grier.
  11. So you draft two olinemen who is your QB throwing to? Robby? TMJ? Shi Smith? Ian Thomas and Tommy Tremble aren't scaring anybody. CMC if healthy that's about it. Option 2 is the only one.
  12. We would be dumb asses to trade a WR like Moore if we are getting a real QB.
  13. Of course other teams are watching but unfortunately for us OUR front office was the only one dumb enough to give up what they did for Darnold and they drove up the price for him. Now they are even more desperate. We would be giving them far too much credit to believe they are not doing the same here for a far more established young talent.
  14. I mean I would be fine with just putting on a blindfold and stumbling our way into the top pick next year but it isn't going to happen and it is only making ourselves more miserable dreaming about it. Tanking is not plausible here. I also don't think Sam Darnold has the support of the team anymore. We are already having a hard time keeping players without overpays. You want to tell a young player hoping for his big contract to waste another year watching Sam Darnold lob a football straight to multiple defenders?
  15. Drafting a QB is crazy but giving up five first round picks is genius
  16. If you trust Twitter sources good luck with all that. Only a handful of media folks on there have real credibility. The rest are all just looking for clout they'll say anything hoping it sticks. Enjoy your morning big guy.
  17. Sure we are. Other teams have already sniffed around balked at the price and peace'd out. Denver was one of them. Miami seemed to be the most likely destination then they called it quits. All we have now are rumors of teams that might have interest which is just more smoke and mirrors. Do not give this regime too much credit after the Darnold fiasco.
  18. Yeah I'm getting the sense we are yet again bidding against ourselves. I'd rather roll the dice on a QB in the draft than give up what could become one of the biggest trade hauls ever.
  19. It's definitely wishful thinking to not only already be hyping a QB class next year nobody knows will pan out and just assuming we will have a top pick. That "next year" mantra has been ongoing and is getting stale. Not only that for some reason people seem to be under an illusion that we will draft one hit and be done. If you think it works that way for every team you're in for a very rude awakening.
  20. He can't be worse than Sam Darnold or PJ Walker.
  21. I tend to agree in part that hate has been getting out of hand. It should be noted though not to confuse that with legitimate criticism. And just as David Tepper doesn’t need everyone in the fanbase despising him he also does not need his own unpaid staff of yes men here who will rise to his defense bc he is a billionaire. But as for the coaching hire most would agree a consultant would have been quite beneficial. Many folks took a look at Rhule's record in college and weren't exactly blown away. The selling point was the reputation as a "builder". But looking at oline and QB and our odd collecting of cornerbacks that hasn't exactly been a plus
  22. But we live in a time where there is little room for such distinction. And the NFL in particular is a league that has had a lengthy list of abuse. If people have been watching all this time it is reasonable to point out the hypocrisy. It is a very American issue as we all have blinders on to a degree.
  23. So if it's not on your team no harm no foul? Sounds like performative outrage.
  24. So you stopped watching the NFL after the Ray Rice video and all the other documented instances of abuse right?
  25. If Tepper actually trades for Watson will you be leaving? If so that's a silver lining. It ain't much but it'll have to do.
